There's a simplicity to these videos that I love. The everyday grind, the inside look at what an Olympian does. Thank you for these super high-quality videos. Rooting for you all the way.
These videos just make y’all so relatable. Working out alone, being a dad (two girls also!) while training, feeling nervous excitement before races…love it. Keep up the good work!
Another great video in an excellent series. The production is top notch, and following along with Clayton’s build up to Paris is really compelling. Keep up the good work everyone!
another awesome video. the music selection has been wonderful throughout the series, coupled with the sound of each footstrike is *chef's kiss* (exhibit A: 2:30). please please please share the tracklist for this video and the other episodes (or a playlist sounds nice too), if that's possible!
I love Clayton and his community and his family!! What a great lead up to the Olympics to follow. I'm so glad God has blessed your career in so many ways. You are so deserving. It's your time and I'm so thrilled for you and your family.
Not used to seeing you and Conner not together in a race haha. Congrats on a great Boston performance in the rain! Followed Ashley's updates on her IG and looks like it rained so much!! Did you get to try on the Team USA gear yet? Must be so exciting.
Really enjoying this series. will be sorry when they finish but .. all part of the journey. Stopping this at 9:48 , will come back to it later . I have a 12 mile mixed pace run to go on this morning (Sunday June 30th) and its raining in the north of England still (about 52f ). yay go summer. Procrastinated enough , thanks for another post.
wow the part where you talked about the easy workouts feeling like shit - and that’s okay. wish i had someone to tell me that when i was still running. excellent psychology
Clayton, I’m curious about your thoughts on daily training miles in carbon shoes. It seems like you are always wearing the Metaspeed Sky Paris in your videos. Is that a coincidence or so you typically train in those shoes? You’re going to kill it in Paris!
I only use the Metaspeed Sky for workouts and races. Roughly 15 to 20 miles a week. The rest of my east mileage is done in the Novablast and Nimbus. For my long runs I do like the Superblast.
Thanks, Clayton! Also, not sure if you are allowed to answer this question yet due to embargo issues, but do you think there is a significant difference between the rides of the Superblast and Superblast 2 (I assume you have the Superblast 2 already and I’m considering preordering it)? I would think there is a big difference since the feel of FF Turbo and FF Turbo+ is quite different to me in the Metaspeed+ vs Paris lines. But many of the reviews on the Superblast 2 that have already dropped say that they are really similar. Thoughts?
Helps your body process and function in the heat. Methods vary but you basically build up to 20-30min in the sauna at a time and do it a few times a week (or as he has said almost everyday during the week)
I use Rapid Reboot. Their newest travel unit is perfect for my needs, but I have also used their classic unit for years. I do a 45 minute session almost daily in heavy training.
I missed running with you this week.
Hi Conner!
Hi
🥲🥲🥲 missed you too.
My week is not complete without these videos 😅
same
Big shoutout to the cameraman and editor of this series…. The videos are just the best on here at the moment 👏
Andrew's a pro.

Thanks for cheering me on!
I dont want this series to end, will be bittersweet
Agree. They're such great motivators. So well produced, but also with a great authentic feel. As good as youtube gets.
Thank you for the kind words as a filmmaker these sort of comments are awesome to read.

Clayton, Don't ever sell yourself short. You are fantastic. You can do anything Conner does. Your run in the trials showed that you can be at anyone.

9:36 felt very poignant! It's moments like these when you realize how important everyone around who is supporting you really is.

Yes, it was a rainy weekend but it made things fun. Came home with a lot of Team USA gear!!

Love your form! Erect and effortless🤗

Agreed! It took me years to finally get the right mindset towards the "easy" workouts.
Hey! Hey! Another episode just dropped!
Need to know the sunglasses brand Clayton uses they are clean
I haven’t seen any nutrition, that would be amazing to include.
🔥

Do you always run the same direction on the track? Or do you ever run the opposite direction to balance out your muscles with all those turns?
Yes, we do sometimes run opposites to balance out our muscles. It hasn't happened this build though.
Clayton said Mantz was doing sauna training. Can someone explain what that is and the benifits?
Helps your body process and function in the heat.
Methods vary but you basically build up to 20-30min in the sauna at a time and do it a few times a week (or as he has said almost everyday during the week)
Being heat acclimated is great however the big benefit is red blood cell production. RBCs = more 02!!!
Clayton what is your VO2 Max?
Keep pushing on!
No idea. My watch says 66 for what it's worth.
Which recovery compression device are you wearing here? Would you recommend a similar set for marathon and greater distance running? Thank you!
I use Rapid Reboot. Their newest travel unit is perfect for my needs, but I have also used their classic unit for years. I do a 45 minute session almost daily in heavy training.
It looks like your left leg’s back kick is higher than your right, interestingly
Yeah, it's something that I've been analyzing as well. Trying to find the root of it and make sure that it doesn't cause any long-term problems.
In running and in surfing, you're really all alone anyway.
Really hope you stick with TH-cam after the games and the Asics crew leaves.
