Fully agree. I also just want to add that i find it a little strange/hypocritical how much love elf is getting for duping while revolution got so much heat for it. But i can also recognise that elf is bringing out (generally speaking) better quality products. I just feel there’s a bit of a double standard here

@@judeli9237 generally speaking, being vegan means no animal cruelty. It does not mean a “clean” or nontoxic environment. We literally strive to just use products, or cosmetics in this case, that have no animal products in them or have been tested on animals. That is the kicker for many of us. Lots of brands will not use animal products in their formulas but will test on animals before selling to market.
Being a student ,it’s more than a blessing to have same quality products at affordable price and as I have never tried high end products,people say these dupes are even better than original product ,that’s like cherry on top

At 53 years of age, I really don't care about all the trends in makeup. I love watching you younger folks play with the makeup, try out the trends, and just have fun, but unless I believe a trend will actually enhance my own look, I don't bother jumping on board. I DO love the product reviews, especially the really good ones where someone reviews day-long or even week-long wear, and most definitely how it wears on mature skin like mine. (Here's a hint... If a product looks really good on mature skin, it will definitely look good on younger skin.) As for dupes, I have mixed feelings. I know the original creator, usually a high-end brand, paid for all fo the R & D and deserves to recoup that, but I also believe that some/many of these high-end brands are grossly overpriced for what you get (Tom Ford, I'm definitely looking at you!). We all deserve affordable beauty! So yes, I will often buy the dupe before the original just to save myself some money. If the dupe looks great, I'll stick with it. If the dupe just doesn't quite cut it, I may test out the original. Foundation and powder are especially challening for my mature skin, so that's the one exception to my rule. I'll usually splurge on the high-end brand first, especially since I can get color matched. It's so hard to get the right shade from the drugstore.
I could not agree with you more! I love watching trends, but I have spent years making my 'perfect' look, something I feel enhances my natural features. It takes something groundbreaking to change up my techniques, not products❤
Agree with your remark on higher end foundation. Finding the right shade and formula is very important to me. Hard to find shades that are not too yellow at the drug store. I mostly stay with my tried and true. I did order a Westman Atelier stick foundation in the correct shade (yeah for that).
Agree with everything you say ( I am also a mature gal who wears make-up0. My crystal ball says a lot of cosmetic companies will put themselves right out of business in the near future. There is a price-point at which the consumer will no longer feel like experimenting knowing there's a 50/50 chance the product will end up in the trash.
Amen! I will be turning 53 next Saturday, and I can relate to everything you said. I am on my 31st year teaching and have a husband and two daughters in their 20s. I cannot afford to buy high-end products unless it is a special occasion or release that I feel like I should treat myself too. That is few and far between. I am not setting out to impress anyone except myself, and I have worked so hard over the past year to raise myself if I can do that by using affordable priced products and still a few of us though, I look 1 million bucks then I have reached my goal. I cannot wait to use birthday gift cards for Ulta and try out perhaps a full face of ELF products, praying that I look as fabulous as dear Allie does! ❤❤
I agree with you 110%!! Mature skin girls, 50 y.o. like me, have things we will buy that's pricey (i.e. foundation, powders, etc.). I don't care about a trend. I just want it to work. Elf girly here too! I just love their dupes and that they give access to really stand out products to people who cant/wont spend an arm and a leg for the same quality. I end up loving the elf dupes more than the original a lot of the times too! Currently obsessed with the new liners, their bullet CT dupe lipsticks, putty bronzers, baked highlighter and lip oils - everything is just soo good!
The elf satin foundation is my spring/summer go-to! I've literally used it for the last 5-6 years. No matter what other foundations release, I always seem to go back to that one.
As a brand new makeup user I appreciate that elf is better for my sensitive skin at a good price point. Their bite size mini eyeshadow pallets gave me a lot of options to play with but not have to spend too much. I honestly love it

I’ve honestly been falling in love with ELF’s makeup but I only started because of all their new dupes. I was never a fan of their stuff until then. It kind of opened my eyes to their quality and affordability. I had never been attracted to their brand because it was always so simple and seemed too cheap to be good, but NOPE i was wrong. After watching your video, I found out that Bare minerals is discontinuing, my holy Grail foundation! What a shock, and the sudden fear that I was going to have to be on the search again for something that matches and works equally as well stressed me out. We happen to drive by Ulta and stopped so I could grab something really quick. since I had just seen your video, I pushed the ELF section and zeroed in on the foundation. Had never tried it before but figured what did I have to lose. Did a quick shade match and decided to get the halo glow to use instead of the Bare minerals primer I generally use. Waited until the weekend to try it and so far I am blown away. It is not sticky, greasy, does not pill on my face or rub off. The shade matched perfectly, and the blush, bronzer, and translucent powder went on smoothly overtop. To say I am pleased as an understatement! For only six dollars I could get six of these for what it cost me to buy one of my holy Grail! I also got two of the new lip plumper that are dupes for the tarte Maracuja lip plumper. Not quite as sold on these as they were super soft and chunks came off on my lips instead of gliding across like the Tarte plumper. I am going to try them several more times to see if by chance it gets better. What do you think about them? I think u would really enjoy it.
I’ve found with the eye brightening product, if you press your finger into it and “break” the surface the product is much more emollient more like the Becca product. I then tap on with my finger ten smooth with a brush.
My gf is in between jobs and on a budget. When her Glossier Boy Brow ran out, I recommended her the Elf Wow Brow because it's supposed to be a good dupe (I don't wear a lot of makeup but watch a lot of makeup content lol), she loves it and is happy to save the money. Dupes are great!

For me, as a babe on a budget, ELF is the best! Not only because they have such great prices but the products are so good! I even have a lot of skincare of the brand. Love it. And cruelty free! ❤ I've always loved a great dupe but some brands just do it because of the trend or the viral moment. ELF does it right in my eyes.

As someone who recently got into makeup, it was really refreshing seeing these affordable good quality makeup products because when I was a teen, it was really hard to get into makeup without seeing the big price tags. Back then, drugstore makeup was not that really good like it is now! So I'm all in for the dupes, but I would like to see some originality from these makeup brands!
That lip oil is my favorite! I had no idea it was supposed to be a dupe! I have that darkest shade and find it so flattering even on my fair complexion. I definitely want more!

I'm about to go to college this year and for high school me starting out makeup for the first time a few years ago, e.l.f. is one of my most favorite drugstore brands and i love that they're duping so many high end brands. Its affordability gives so many of us who can't afford to splurge on so many high-end products access to high quality formulas. I'm on my third e.l.f. hydrating concealer i think going on my fourth, it's my holy grail as well as the halo glow liquid filter. e.l.f. is bae 😌
I will say tho, the only thing about dupes is if I want a high-end product and I get it, it seems e.l.f. comes out with the dupe for it very soon after so I'm like ughhh I spent so much money when I could've gotten the dupe instead! (It's okay tho still love e.l.f.)
Elf is clearly going after the viral high end products. I LOVE the O face lipsticks and the triangle lip liners. I also enjoy that foundation. I just wish they could leave out the fragrance. I need to try some more of these ELF goodies.

I have both the Rare Beauty liquid blush and the ELF one. The ELF one is better and lasts longer on my skin. All of the shades from ELF I have are matte. I just add a touch of a liquid highlighter I already own if I want a glow. Or I will use a pearl eyeshadow or shimmery powder blush on top. The lasting power is absolutely amazing and the formula so smooth and consistent. Truly amazing

I have never been in a Sephora or an Ulta and probably never will. I BELIEVE wholeheartedly in artistry and techniques a good eye for pigments, color,formula, I'm a mom of 4 and makeup just isn't the main priority, however it is the one thing I collect, the one thing I buy for me, and it's my hobbies and fun just for me, however I really get a thrill of doing it on a budget! Dollar tree, dollar general,family dollar, Ollie's, and a couple times a year I ball out in Walmart lol and kind of stock up for the year, but even then I stick with Venus razors, retinol, good hair care, bath products, skin care vit. C, wet n wild, elf, nyx, Milani I have a system set up for myself for this haha!! I appreciate Elf so so so much!! I've been wearing elf since a teenager and there really bringing us affordable quality! So greatful!!

I am brand spanking new to your channel and I’ve really enjoyed your videos thus far. I learned about e.l.f. before it became as big as it is now (2010ish) and they have come a long way since then! I personally haven’t tried any of their products since the eyeshadow I bought back then but this video has my interest. I don’t wear a lot of make up but I want to experiment with it more. With that being said, 1) thank you for taking the time to review these products. 2) what are some good inexpensive makeup brushes to start experimenting with for us newbies? 3) what’s the best way to learn how to do your eyebrows? My 3yo daughter LOVES to play with makeup, and E.L.F is my go to for her. It's inexpensive and the ingredients are soooo much better than "kid" makeups/cosmetics. Bonus points because i can use it too🥰🤣 absolutely one of my favorite brands.

I have used L'Bri natural make up and face cleansing line forever. But I love the E.L.F. eye palettes. They are affordable and really nice quality. Wet N Wild is another line that I like.

I love a dupe! And I love dupe videos. Personally, I don't know why anyone would spend a lot of money on any makeup product when there are so many good drugstore products. And you don't feel so bad buying more than one shade of something if the price is low. I am enjoying elf more and more. I also am hooked on that L'oreal Paris True Match Nude Serum Foundation. It truly doesn't settle into lines and wrinkles. Keep bringing it Allie !
I will argue that usually buying affordable products could lead to being wasteful because it convinces you that you can buy one more or two more products, when really you don’t even need too because most likely you won’t even use it. Granted I’m not saying that’s the case for everyone that buys affordable products but that’s. usually what ends up happening, we live in a consumerism society, we have the tendency of buying more than we need but we do it anyways because it’s “ affordable “.

Now, I want to try their foundation. 😊 I am thankful for the dupes. Makeup prices have risen incredibly, and I just will not spend the cashola unless it is something that I wanted & thought about for a long time. Allie, the eye corrector actually works better if you "break" the "seal" of the product much like Jones Road Miracle Balm. It releases the pigments even more and provides more color correcting than just using it without pushing into the product. It has been around for a while (6+ months as my best guess) and it IS a dupe for Becca's. I just got my hands on the same shade as you because they went viral for good bit. Love this video and wanted to let you know about the color corrector! Thank you for all you do and help all of us not waste our money! ❤ ~Amy
I’m so glad you posted this video! I have so many thoughts, I agree with you on the fact that they get more hyped because they are dupes. I think it does a disservice to the original product in most cases because sometimes they are better. Also, I agree with wanting more innovative products not every product line, having the same things. But some are just so much better and a better price point. Like the lip oils I will never stop using and the halo powder. But the blush and contour wands and the poreless primer are not for me.

I first tried the Halo Glow powder when I was looking for a replacement for my beloved, discontinued CoverFX illuminating loose setting powder in the translucent shade which was amazing for fair skin. I never really stopped to think about it before you mentioned the Halo Glow in this video, but the CoverFX one must have come out way before the glowy loose powders of CT, TooFaced Born This Way, Hourglass, etc.
I appreciate the dupes. I hardly ever buy the high end because dupes are so good. I really appreciate hearing your impressions and then I just buy the dupe.

Can you share where you got that adorable pink hoodie? As a Sephora employee who's constantly tempted by new product that we get in, I'm starting to become disillusioned to the constant influx of new things and crazy prices that never seem to stop rising. I won't be working there anymore soon since I'm moving and will probably go back to mostly drugstore makeup in the future. I've always been impressed with Elf products and I feel like they continue to get better. I'm glad to know I can have access to product that mirrors luxury beauty at a fraction of the price.
I personally love elf, mostly because I only just started to become interested in makeup around the beginning of last year. I'm constantly hearing great things about so many high end products, but it is just not affordable to build up my previously nonexistent makeup collection with high end things, especially when I don't even know what I like to wear. The elf satin foundation was my first complexion purchase ever, and I love that one! Most of my makeup over the last year has come from elf, with some from essence or other inexpensive drugstore brands. I love that they dupe high end products that I haven't been able to try yet, because I will purchase them myself and then listen to a variety of reviews to determine whether I should put the high end product on my wish list based on how close of a match it was vs. how I feel about the dup. I did finally make a couple of makeup purchases from Sephora during their end of year sales, though....the lancome blurring primer, the CT flawless setting spray, and the givenchy prisme libre powder. I am very happy with all 3 of those purchases, but need some time for my budget to reset lol, so occasional single-digit dollar purchases from elf and essence hold me over until I can make another purchase from a more luxury brand.

I’m not into trends in makeup. But I love a great dupe I’ve placed several online orders from ELF lately and am not disappointed. I’ve bought brushes, a sponge kit, foundation, the new blushes and the new mascaras. The Lash and Roll is my current favorite mascara.

As long as there is super expensive high end makeup there will be a place for affordable dupes. I see your point as a content creator that it can seem redundant at times. But as a social worker on a fixed income ELF is such a go to for me now. As much as I would love to buy the original high ends (sometimes) I just can't justify the cost a lot of the time. And as others have mentioned I also love that this is a cruelty free option at the drugstore. It's been really interesting though watching ELF evolve over the years--I used to mostly just look to them for cheaper brushes but now I would say they are one of the strongest drugstore lines. Also they have a new tubing mascara that is said to be a dupe for Thrive! Haven't been able to get it yet but heard good things so far.

Being a student ,it’s more than a blessing to have same quality products at affordable price and as I have never tried high end products,people say these dupes are even better than original product ,that’s like cherry on top

At 53 years of age, I really don't care about all the trends in makeup. I love watching you younger folks play with the makeup, try out the trends, and just have fun, but unless I believe a trend will actually enhance my own look, I don't bother jumping on board. I DO love the product reviews, especially the really good ones where someone reviews day-long or even week-long wear, and most definitely how it wears on mature skin like mine. (Here's a hint... If a product looks really good on mature skin, it will definitely look good on younger skin.) As for dupes, I have mixed feelings. I know the original creator, usually a high-end brand, paid for all fo the R & D and deserves to recoup that, but I also believe that some/many of these high-end brands are grossly overpriced for what you get (Tom Ford, I'm definitely looking at you!). We all deserve affordable beauty! So yes, I will often buy the dupe before the original just to save myself some money. If the dupe looks great, I'll stick with it. If the dupe just doesn't quite cut it, I may test out the original. Foundation and powder are especially challening for my mature skin, so that's the one exception to my rule. I'll usually splurge on the high-end brand first, especially since I can get color matched. It's so hard to get the right shade from the drugstore.
I could not agree with you more! I love watching trends, but I have spent years making my 'perfect' look, something I feel enhances my natural features. It takes something groundbreaking to change up my techniques, not products❤
Agree with your remark on higher end foundation. Finding the right shade and formula is very important to me. Hard to find shades that are not too yellow at the drug store. I mostly stay with my tried and true. I did order a Westman Atelier stick foundation in the correct shade (yeah for that).
Agree with everything you say ( I am also a mature gal who wears make-up0. My crystal ball says a lot of cosmetic companies will put themselves right out of business in the near future. There is a price-point at which the consumer will no longer feel like experimenting knowing there's a 50/50 chance the product will end up in the trash.
Amen! I will be turning 53 next Saturday, and I can relate to everything you said. I am on my 31st year teaching and have a husband and two daughters in their 20s. I cannot afford to buy high-end products unless it is a special occasion or release that I feel like I should treat myself too. That is few and far between. I am not setting out to impress anyone except myself, and I have worked so hard over the past year to raise myself if I can do that by using affordable priced products and still a few of us though, I look 1 million bucks then I have reached my goal. I cannot wait to use birthday gift cards for Ulta and try out perhaps a full face of ELF products, praying that I look as fabulous as dear Allie does! ❤❤
I agree with you 110%!! Mature skin girls, 50 y.o. like me, have things we will buy that's pricey (i.e. foundation, powders, etc.). I don't care about a trend. I just want it to work. E.L.F. is a great brand & I love most everything they put out. I'm not gonna pay a war price for something that's drug store pricing, *THAT WORKS* !! I can't afford all these *TRENDS* !! TBH.

Elf girly here too! I just love their dupes and that they give access to really stand out products to people who cant/wont spend an arm and a leg for the same quality. I end up loving the elf dupes more than the original a lot of the times too! Currently obsessed with the new liners, their bullet CT dupe lipsticks, putty bronzers, baked highlighter and lip oils - everything is just soo good!
The elf satin foundation is my spring/summer go-to! I've literally used it for the last 5-6 years. No matter what other foundations release, I always seem to go back to that one.

As a brand new makeup user I appreciate that elf is better for my sensitive skin at a good price point. Their bite size mini eyeshadow pallets gave me a lot of options to play with but not have to spend too much. I honestly love it

I’ve honestly been falling in love with ELF’s makeup but I only started because of all their new dupes. I was never a fan of their stuff until then. It kind of opened my eyes to their quality and affordability. I had never been attracted to their brand because it was always so simple and seemed too cheap to be good, but NOPE i was wrong. After watching your video, I found out that Bare minerals is discontinuing, my holy Grail foundation! What a shock, and the sudden fear that I was going to have to be on the search again for something that matches and works equally as well stressed me out. We happen to drive by Ulta and stopped so I could grab something really quick. since I had just seen your video, I pushed the ELF section and zeroed in on the foundation. Had never tried it before but figured what did I have to lose. Did a quick shade match and decided to get the halo glow to use instead of the Bare minerals primer I generally use. Waited until the weekend to try it and so far I am blown away. It is not sticky, greasy, does not pill on my face or rub off. The shade matched perfectly, and the blush, bronzer, and translucent powder went on smoothly overtop. To say I am pleased as an understatement! For only six dollars I could get six of these for what it cost me to buy one of my holy Grail! I also got two of the new lip plumper that are dupes for the tarte Maracuja lip plumper. Not quite as sold on these as they were super soft and chunks came off on my lips instead of gliding across like the Tarte plumper. I am going to try them several more times to see if by chance it gets better. What do you think about them? I’ve found with the eye brightening product, if you press your finger into it and “break” the surface the product is much more emollient more like the Becca product. I then tap on with my finger ten smooth with a brush.

My gf is in between jobs and on a budget. When her Glossier Boy Brow ran out, I recommended her the Elf Wow Brow because it's supposed to be a good dupe (I don't wear a lot of makeup but watch a lot of makeup content lol), she loves it and is happy to save the money. Dupes are great!

As someone who recently got into makeup, it was really refreshing seeing these affordable good quality makeup products because when I was a teen, it was really hard to get into makeup without seeing the big price tags. Back then, drugstore makeup was not that really good like it is now! So I'm all in for the dupes, but I would like to see some originality from these makeup brands!
That lip oil is my favorite! I had no idea it was supposed to be a dupe! I have that darkest shade and find it so flattering even on my fair complexion. I definitely want more!

I'm about to go to college this year and for high school me starting out makeup for the first time a few years ago, e.l.f. is one of my most favorite drugstore brands and i love that they're duping so many high end brands. Its affordability gives so many of us who can't afford to splurge on so many high-end products access to high quality formulas. I'm on my third e.l.f. hydrating concealer i think going on my fourth, it's my holy grail as well as the halo glow liquid filter. e.l.f. is bae 😌
I will say tho, the only thing about dupes is if I want a high-end product and I get it, it seems e.l.f. comes out with the dupe for it very soon after so I'm like ughhh I spent so much money when I could've gotten the dupe instead! (It's okay tho still love e.l.f.)

I have both the Rare Beauty liquid blush and the ELF one. The ELF one is better and lasts longer on my skin. All of the shades from ELF I have are matte. I just add a touch of a liquid highlighter I already own if I want a glow. Or I will use a pearl eyeshadow or shimmery powder blush on top. The lasting power is absolutely amazing and the formula so smooth and consistent. Truly amazing

I have never been in a Sephora or an Ulta and probably never will. I BELIEVE wholeheartedly in artistry and techniques a good eye for pigments, color,formula, I'm a mom of 4 and makeup just isn't the main priority, however it is the one thing I collect, the one thing I buy for me, and it's my hobbies and fun just for me, however I really get a thrill of doing it on a budget! Dollar tree, dollar general,family dollar, Ollie's, and a couple times a year I ball out in Walmart lol and kind of stock up for the year, but even then I stick with Venus razors, retinol, good hair care, bath products, skin care vit. C, wet n wild, elf, nyx, Milani I have a system set up for myself for this haha!! I appreciate Elf so so so much!! I've been wearing elf since a teenager and there really bringing us affordable quality! So greatful!!

I am brand spanking new to your channel and I’ve really enjoyed your videos thus far. I learned about e.l.f. before it became as big as it is now (2010ish) and they have come a long way since then! I personally haven’t tried any of their products since the eyeshadow I bought back then but this video has my interest. I don’t wear a lot of make up but I want to experiment with it more. With that being said, 1) thank you for taking the time to review these products. 2) what are some good inexpensive makeup brushes to start experimenting with for us newbies? 3) what’s the best way to learn how to do your eyebrows? I have used L'Bri natural make up and face cleansing line forever. But I love the E.L.F. eye palettes. They are affordable and really nice quality. Wet N Wild is another line that I like.

I love a dupe! And I love dupe videos. Personally, I don't know why anyone would spend a lot of money on any makeup product when there are so many good drugstore products. And you don't feel so bad buying more than one shade of something if the price is low. I am enjoying elf more and more. I also am hooked on that L'oreal Paris True Match Nude Serum Foundation. It truly doesn't settle into lines and wrinkles. Keep bringing it Allie !
I will argue that usually buying affordable products could lead to being wasteful because it convinces you that you can buy one more or two more products, when really you don’t even need too because most likely you won’t even use it. Granted I’m not saying that’s the case for everyone that buys affordable products but that’s. usually what ends up happening, we live in a consumerism society, we have the tendency of buying more than we need but we do it anyways because it’s “ affordable “.

Allie, the eye corrector actually works better if you "break" the "seal" of the product much like Jones Road Miracle Balm. It releases the pigments even more and provides more color correcting than just using it without pushing into the product. It has been around for a while (6+ months as my best guess) and it IS a dupe for Becca's. I just got my hands on the same shade as you because they went viral for good bit. Love this video and wanted to let you know about the color corrector! Thank you for all you do and help all of us not waste our money! ❤ ~Amy
I’m so glad you posted this video! I have so many thoughts, I agree with you on the fact that they get more hyped because they are dupes. I think it does a disservice to the original product in most cases because sometimes they are better. Also, I agree with wanting more innovative products not every product line, having the same things. But some are just so much better and a better price point. Like the lip oils I will never stop using and the halo powder. But the blush and contour wands and the poreless primer are not for me.

I first tried the Halo Glow powder when I was looking for a replacement for my beloved, discontinued CoverFX illuminating loose setting powder in the translucent shade which was amazing for fair skin. I never really stopped to think about it before you mentioned the Halo Glow in this video, but the CoverFX one must have come out way before the glowy loose powders of CT, TooFaced Born This Way, Hourglass, etc.

Can you share where you got that adorable pink hoodie? As a Sephora employee who's constantly tempted by new product that we get in, I'm starting to become disillusioned to the constant influx of new things and crazy prices that never seem to stop rising. I won't be working there anymore soon since I'm moving and will probably go back to mostly drugstore makeup in the future. I personally love elf, mostly because I only just started to become interested in makeup around the beginning of last year. I'm constantly hearing great things about so many high end products, but it is just not affordable to build up my previously nonexistent makeup collection with high end things, especially when I don't even know what I like to wear. The elf satin foundation was my first complexion purchase ever, and I love that one! Most of my makeup over the last year has come from elf, with some from essence or other inexpensive drugstore brands. I love that they dupe high end products that I haven't been able to try yet, because I will purchase them myself and then listen to a variety of reviews to determine whether I should put the high end product on my wish list based on how close of a match it was vs. how I feel about the dup.
I did finally make a couple of makeup purchases from Sephora during their end of year sales, though....the lancome blurring primer, the CT flawless setting spray, and the givenchy prisme libre powder. I am very happy with all 3 of those purchases, but need some time for my budget to reset lol, so occasional single-digit dollar purchases from elf and essence hold me over until I can make another purchase from a more luxury brand.

I’m not into trends in makeup. But I love a great dupe I’ve placed several online orders from ELF lately and am not disappointed. I’ve bought brushes, a sponge kit, foundation, the new blushes and the new mascaras. The Lash and Roll is my current favorite mascara.

As long as there is super expensive high end makeup there will be a place for affordable dupes. I see your point as a content creator that it can seem redundant at times. But as a social worker on a fixed income ELF is such a go to for me now. As much as I would love to buy the original high ends (sometimes) I just can't justify the cost a lot of the time. And as others have mentioned I also love that this is a cruelty free option at the drugstore. It's been really interesting though watching ELF evolve over the years--I used to mostly just look to them for cheaper brushes but now I would say they are one of the strongest drugstore lines.
Also they have a new tubing mascara that is said to be a dupe for Thrive! Haven't been able to get it yet but heard good things so far.
