I'd love to see a video on fixing makeup issues after application. For example, your foundation looks fine initially but shortly thereafter you have polkadot pores, or it goes on smoothly but later in the day you have flakes all over. This was a nice presentation. Thanks Allie!
@Darkened_Dream - correct. And I already do ALL of those things which is why it goes on well initially. My comment was about how to fix issues if they crop up hours later without starting from scratch. 😊
I’ve had the same issue but I have definitely noticed that when I’m really working on keeping my skin exfoliated and hydrated, my makeup really behaves better…but also using the right products in the least quantity as possible makes a huge difference. The sad part is that we sometimes have such unrealistic expectations. We want our skin to be perfect and flawless…but we are humans who thankfully smile and laugh creating lines, and we have bad days and get tired. I think boundaries and non-negotiables are extremely important. I’ve set my non-negotiables as: washing my face morning and night, using the most nourishing products for my skin type and gently exfoliating 4-5 times a week…I know most people only say 2-3 times a week but for my skin type, as long as the products are gentle (and I do have 5 different exfoliating products that I rotate through regularly) and I use proper hydration, my skin looks much better and wears makeup better if I exfoliate 5 times a week.
Yes - please do an undereye tutorial! Mine are so dry and crepey, I am unable to use ANY setting powder. (Of course I use eye cream day and night) I'd also love advice on avoiding "polka-dot pores," when the foundation collects in pores leaving a polka-dot appearance.
I am 72 and struggle. One thing that has helped me is after all my makeup is on I take my beauty blender and spray a few pumps od setting spray then press all over especially where lines are. That has really helped
some more tips from a natural makeup girly! - you don’t have to set your under eyes with powder if you don’t want to or if it makes your skin look dry and crepey. i never set mine and my concealer (catrice true skin) always stays put and looks natural. - try to also place your concealer in and around the inner corner of the eyes rather than placing it directly under the eye and over places with deep lines and wrinkles. - you can avoid putting concealer on the outer edge of the eyes where the crow’s feet are so that product doesn’t settle into those lines. - use a light gel eye cream under the eyes if you’re dealing with some pilling. don’t forget sunscreen all over the face! - don’t feel like you have to use the techniques and application methods of everyone on the internet. for example, i hate sponges to apply anything with. i blend with fingers and brushes. my concealer always turns out wonderfully when i use small amounts and tap it in with my ring fingers, not even using brushes. - realise you also don’t have to wear foundation all over the face if you do wear foundation. eg. if your forehead doesn’t need coverage but your chin does, you can concentrate your foundation solely on your chin, if you want to. but ensure you have a perfect shade match. - for smile lines, i don’t put makeup there so that there is no opportunity for creasing and settling. - robert welsh has great videos on setting sprays! his suggestion is to use setting spray as primer to prep the skin. i personally use mine (benefit super setter) at the beginning and end of my routine. - for bronzer and blush, don’t apply them in a linear line across the face. go in small circles. and lay your blush slightly on top of the bronzer. - for skin texture, keeping the skin hydrated, along with exfoliated, helps; in addition to pore smoothing primers. ie benefit porefessional, wet n wild impossible etc.
A lot of us don't have IG or TT because we don't want or need another 'social media' taking up our time. We're good with YT so thank you for staying here & sharing your knowledge. 🤠
Well....I'm 48 years young, and this under-eye-thing is not about smilelines or fine lines just beneath the lower lashline anymore. The WHOLE undereye-area is changing. I'ts getting crepey, loose and puffy. It happens over "a night" after 40/45 yrs. There's the real "problem" for mature undereyes and makeup. I am very lightly tapping some castor oil around my whole eye area before putting concealer on. And very, very lightly putting a small amount of verrrry fine milled powder on top. It looks really good, while I just have to accept the loose, crepey puffy skin that comes with menopaus and age 💃
I LOVE Bobbi Browns eye cream. It’s my splurge product and it lasts for ever. Angie from Hot and Flashy has some great tips for mature skin on her channel.
You could do a live on TH-cam where you pick questions at random and ask that specific person questions about their routine and give them tips. Its not video to video but its at least some interaction.
Hi Allie! I grew up with makeup books as well. I still have two from Kevin Aucoin on my bookcase in my living room today. I think you would be the most perfect makeup girlie to make their own book and bring that method of learning back! With books it’s not just about learning but also about the nostalgia and beauty of having it in your home for years to come. In fact I should really pull mine out to share with my pre teen daughter. Love your videos! Thanks for all you do!
I have learned so much from you over the several years I have been watching your videos! I was so thrilled to learn the foundation trick of putting it on the back of the hand and apply it from there, that method works great! I didn’t know that your brand was on Amazon, I just ran out of the lip treatment and that treatment is gold! I went an ordered 2 more, I a;ways need one in my purse. Please do a part 2 to this series, I am learning so much from you!! Love you and your videos, Allie! ❤️
Can confirm the lip treatment is amazing. Almost as amazing as Ravie's customer service!!! I had an issue with my order, and THEA was amazing. I am obsessed with Verbena, Paradise, and my lip treatment! Can't wait to get more goodies! Love this video idea, too!
When talking about under eyes tips, and mentioning that you would like to have a guest on to do a demo, I would like to request Bonnie Hoellein! I absolutely adore when you two do videos together. ❤
I love love love this type of video Allie and if you ever really do want to have a mature subscriber in your chair for a video, I would happily volunteer. I am 57 now and have been following you since the beginning of your channel and would love to have your personal recommendations with the things I struggle with. Love you Allie. Keep up with your amazing work!
@allieglines yes, please give us a series on natural looking makeup. I love how you answer questions and make it so easy to try! You look stunning in this video by the way 😊
Yes! This was a very helpful video! Also would ditto the under eye concealer video for mature skin. I've been trying out Lancome's serum concealer and it's much better than heavier concealers for sure, but I'd love to perfect my routine.
Loved this video! It’s helpful to have specific tips. I would love to see breakdown videos on each of the topics you mention having more ideas: how to do concealer/under eyes, how to get a natural looking base (you have this in most of your videos because you’re great at it but having it be super targeted would be helpful) Also showing how you approach a face when you’re doing someone else’s makeup would be helpful. Why do you place specific products in areas, like how do you determine bronzer placement. Another video that would be helpful would be picking out colors based on someone else’s face. Like how do you pick the undertone and the blush color… do you go more pink or more peach
Great video! I’m glad you emphasized tapping off product on hand before applying. I often forget to do this and end up with too much product that I then have to take off completely or add more products to compensate. One big question I’d love to ask is: Is there some magic trick or product to keep mascara from smudging onto saggy upper eyelid skin? I use the Milani eyelid primer but even tubing and waterproof mascaras still deposit pigment onto the skin my eyelashes touch.
Haus labs concealer has helped me with creasing and it doesn’t settle in my fine lines. However I use a very small amount I take my brush and get it off the applicator and blend it that way!
Here are a few products that help me a lot with my 50-year-old very dry skin in a very dry climate. I use Clinique all about eyes underneath my eyes before doing my concealer to prep my eyes. Something that has been a huge help with flakiness around my nose and my actual dry lips is the prequel skin utility ointment, multi-purpose skin protectant. And for my super dry skin I have been loving the Instree yam root vegan milk cream. This is the only face cream I have used this whole winter that has actually made a difference in my super dry skin. I also like to use the cosrx comfort ceramide cream mist to spray on my face while I'm doing my makeup to keep everything hydrated.
Would love a video(s) on undereye concealing tips & achieving a natural makeup look. For me, the Kiehls creamy eye treatment works great under makeup. You only need a little bit, so the jar lasts a while.
I love lipstick but it completely gone after I eaten....how your tip and tricks will help me. I'm allergic to eyebrow wax....is there any other way for eyebrow hair removal...I love your tutorials ❤
Hi Allie, l learned more ways to blend my eyeshadow on my eyes from Glitzy Fritzy, l used to wear makeup for years before I had my children and than l stopped using makeup, but once they were teenagers, l started wearing makeup again, less is more for a lot of makeup, l been wearing my makeup for the last 5 years now, but l learned to do my makeup in a different way, all my family and friends, can't believe it, because I wear makeup every day, and sometimes they can't believe it's me, the comment that I look gorgeous, l love wearing makeup, you look Beautiful today, hugsssss ❤❤❤
You are so porcelain doll like in this ♡ love it. I feel like the pilling usually comes from mixing say silicone based eye cream with water based foundation. I made this mistake. I am very thankful I dont have crows feet, smile lines, bags or dark circles, acne. I do have rbf though and fine lines on my forehead that drive me crazy. I couldn't picture you with any acne. Your skin looks flawless. I think powder and cream possibly foundation should come back.
My video request…touching up? What does that mean? Are we taking things off, are we using different products, what do you use to touch up, what do you carry in your make up bag every day?
No matter what I do, my foundation looks like it’s clinging to my skin in weird patches-where the foundation is like sitting on top of the slight skin texture that I have. I moisturize. I use a hydrating toner. I exfoliate. I use a primer. Nothing seems to help. I look like I have a carpet imprint on my face. My skin doesn’t even feel that rough. 😭Sponge, brush, thick consistency, thin-doesn’t seem to matter.
hi allie! i was wondering how you could prevent a muddy blush look with liquid blush… as you know, the rare beauty liquid blush is very pigmented and i find that it can be difficult to apply because of that(especially since i like a minimal amount of blush). not only that, but when i put my powder bronzer on top it makes the blush look off. any tips?
This was very informative. Would love to see a video using TirTir foundation mixing it with other liquid makeup & still make it look good. Just different ways of applying it to give the best flawless look possible. Thanks Ali, you're beautiful.❤❤ PS I bought the Joseon ground rice & honey glow mask you recommend. 👍
I'm not on Instagram anymore so my question is this. I don't use under eye concealer (thankfully, I don't really need it). I want to know the best way to keep eyeliner from migrating down. I was using a small brush with a little loose powder under my lashes & I use a gel style pencil. Sometimes that works, but not always. I will take a tiny brush with a small amount of concealer just under the lashes, then powder, then line. Not sure if I'm doing the right thing. Any help that can be provided, even by any of the other subscribers, would be most helpful. Thank you for sharing your tips & tricks. You're always a joy to watch, Allie. ❤
With the under eye issue (which it's my current issue), I can see I collab video with you and Angie Hot and Flashy. She did a video on this but I still have issues with concealer and powder under my eyes. It makes me look older than I am.
My gosh Allie-- your lashes are beautiful!! Do you use a lash serum? I've just started using a peptide lash serum without prostaglandin. I'm more mature age and my lashes aren't as full as they were before menopause.
EYEBROW blindness is real! My daughter had highlight blindness a couple years ago. I ABSOLUTELY said something 😂.. sweetly of course. I have done some crazy things in bad lighting.
Allie - we're pretty much the same skintone but I'm the same age as Emily Noel. I have EXTREME redness on my cheeks, nose & chin. We THINK it's probably rosacea. Question 1 - what type of skincare do U recommend that will calm both my redness & sensitivity - INCLUDING a liquid exfoliant?? Question 2 - I currently use the Wet N Wild BareFocus Tinted Hydr8or as my "base" then I set it w/ELF HD (loose) Powder. How come I look DRY upon application then I turn EXTREMELY OILY a couple hrs in?? I DO remove excess powder B4 application BTW. Question 3 - I use the light medium shade of the BareFocus Tinted Hydr8or & my parents say I look like a ghost (WAY too pale) BUT when I use the next shade darker it's WAY too dark...what do U recommend there?? If U would completely change foundations what drugstore foundation (& shade) would U recommend?? Question 4 - how come EVERY SINGLE TIME I use Halo Glow it ALWAYS looks grainy?? I DON'T MIND the more glowy finish it gives though. If anybody has questions about what I currently use - FEEL FREE 2 reply 2 this & ask.
hey Aile I got a make up question do you blend foundation and Conceraler together with the bing blending foundationbrush or a beauty blender ?. thanks for your make up tips and how do l clean my make up brushes?
A fellow TH-camr Gena Marie created a service where she would virtually meet with people and help with their hair routines. Maybe you could do that with makeup?
I'm a busy mom, but still want to look put together when I go out but want to low cost & low maintenance. I feel oily from my sunscreen, but what is a lightweight tinted moisturizer that isn't oily/glowy. What's the best powder that is hard to put too much on bc I just want to tone down the glow! And best drugstore setting spray? I'm a cream blush/bronzer/contour girl all the way bc it leaves a subtle glow even under all the powder I put on. Best one & done natural eye cream, but how to not make it settle into lines?
I would love to be your model for undereyes…I have dark circles and fine lines AND crepiness 😢….i would like to know which undereye concealers are the most self setting???
Something else… My straight lashes simply do not curl. I don’t care how long I hold them in the eyelash curler… i’ve done the trick while you try to pump the curler, does nothing. They stay absolutely straight.
@ no I can’t, it really irritates my eyes. ={{ The problem is they don’t curl in the first place. I’ve heard that waterproof mascara will hold them in place once curled, but you have to get them curled in the first place before you put them mascara on… And mine just don’t. ={{
Have you tried a heated lash curler? Another creator I follow on YT uses one as she struggled with her lashes like you do. It really works for her! She uses the one from Grande Cosmetics but there might be some more affordable ones out there too. Or, maybe you can heat up your regular lash curler with a hairdryer first (just be careful not to burn yourself!)
I am very good at natural makeup because its my favorit style of Make-up on myself. I find I can use quite some base produkts (with little amount of each produkt) - i like to layer cream an a very light amount of power produkts on top, but eyes can make or break the look. Less is more here. I use only a small amount of color corrector, to dots of lighter concealer in the outer parts under the eye. A very light amount of an almost skintone eyeshadow and I apply mascara only on the roots and brush this out.
I'd love to see a video on fixing makeup issues after application. For example, your foundation looks fine initially but shortly thereafter you have polkadot pores, or it goes on smoothly but later in the day you have flakes all over. This was a nice presentation. Thanks Allie!
I have the same issue and tried everything! Primers, foundations you name it. Mid day it looks like I tried putting makeup on the Sahara desert 😢
YES
Having good skin prep and exfoliating your skin helps. know your skin type. Also some primers dont mix well with some foundations.
@Darkened_Dream - correct. And I already do ALL of those things which is why it goes on well initially. My comment was about how to fix issues if they crop up hours later without starting from scratch. 😊

Definitely would love a video just on undereyes and one just on natural makeup
Omg you look like such a boss in this video. This look is so chic and so powerful on you!!!!!! Dying for Ravie's next release. Hope its soon!
I rarely wear concealer, on a day to day basis, but would love a video on applying concealer correctly as well as an eyeshadow tutorial.
Haus labs concealer has helped me with creasing and it doesn’t settle in my fine lines. However I use a very small amount I take my brush and get it off the applicator and blend it that way!
TYSM for spending your time doing this! So many of us have similar questions/challenges so this is really helpful. You are a beautiful person ❤
Great video!! Yes please do more like this!❤
You're so majestically marvelous when it comes to all things makeup. I appreciate you always for that, Allie.
Thanks Allie🌸🌸🌸
Please do a video on the under eyes...love you Alli, xoxo
I always enjoy your videos! What shadows do you have on your eyes? I really like the look you have.
Love your videos❤❤❤
You look sooo good in silver🤩
Would love to see a video with us sending videos of what we do wrong 😂 would be very interesting to get specific advice. Thanks for a great video ❤
Thank you for this video and allowing us to ask you questions!
Thank you so much for this video it really helped me I really liked all your suggestions I’m looking forward to your next video
I love lipstick but it completely gone after I eaten....how your tip and tricks will help me. I'm allergic to eyebrow wax....is there any other way for eyebrow hair removal...I love your tutorials ❤
Yes, demo videos please!
You look absolutely gorgeous in this video ❤❤
This video was very informative and helpful so thank you for this video 😊😊

Hello, when will there be a third part of the video on overcoming your fear of makeup?
Allie, absolutely loved the video. BTW, you look absolutely beautiful today. Love the makeup; so subtle but, boy, does it work for you.

I loved this video style, Allie! I agree, it would be so much fun to be able to interact with you.
hey Aile I got a make up question do you blend foundation and Conceraler together with the bing blending foundationbrush or a beauty blender ?. thanks for your make up tips and how do l clean my make up brushes?
A fellow TH-camr Gena Marie created a service where she would virtually meet with people and help with their hair routines. Maybe you could do that with makeup?

Hi. What lipliner and lipstick are u wearing? I love it
Love silver jewerly on you🥰
Thank you!!
Do you recommend an eye cream without fragrance?
I’m not Ally but I really like the Benton one
@ thank you!
Where do I sign up for the Allie Glines masterclass 🙋🏼♀️
How do I contact you privately?
Hi Allie! Any suggestions on how to make my lipstick last? I feel like it's gone within 30 minutes of me applying it.
Could you possibly host a Q & A using Zoom?
Good morning, Allie! 😊 I hope you and the family are doing well and you have an amazing week! 💜🩷🩵🧡💛💚
Thank you so much! Sending love back your way! 🤗
@allieglines You're welcome 😊
No one Ever talks about How to match your foundation to your neck or your skin color?
No one mentions How you Not to have Cakey Foundation or Not have your makeup show a different match to your neck.
Allie, your skin looks like porcelain!!❤

Something else… My straight lashes simply do not curl. I don’t care how long I hold them in the eyelash curler… i’ve done the trick while you try to pump the curler, does nothing.
They stay absolutely straight.
Are you using a waterproof mascara?
@ no I can’t, it really irritates my eyes. ={{
The problem is they don’t curl in the first place. I’ve heard that waterproof mascara will hold them in place once curled, but you have to get them curled in the first place before you put them mascara on… And mine just don’t. ={{
@ i’ve seen those, but honestly I’m so clumsy, I would definitely burn myself. Also, I’m terrified of ripping all my lashes out with those
The over bronzing especially the forehead 12 months a year looks ridiculous.
