Worth it at the time though? I'd prune my precious record collection every so often for exactly the same reason... Worth it? Damn right! Like that weekend away when our borrowed car broke down and ****** and I ended up having to stay overnight in a small country town while we waited for a tow... I won't go into details, but MAN, that was a night to remember!
i heard this on a pirate station in 1990 and thought it was their own remix. I recorded it on tape. Years later I found out who produced it, my favourite group at the time and another group who are pretty good too...
the band orbital didn't actually remix this track, the orb used to label their remixes "orbital mix" but changed it when they realized people were confusing them for a different band
anyone early nineties in Rotterdam Parkzicht Old School House every Saturday night will remember this for sure. lights out and then under the influence losing it in this chlling Orb track
Back then The Orb would call their remixes "Orbital Remixes" instead of "Orb Remixes". They weren't aware of the band Orbital at first, then were stubborn about changing for a few years.
Orb tracks always did work with the deck at the wrong speed too - at least this one was pretty versatile! had a version on 45 & it'd take forever to realise it was at 33.. Try this one at 1.25x for fun. Towers of Dub is fun to play with too.
Helemaal strak vol verwachting 2 uur in de rij met een salmy in je mik klaar om los te gaan, THE night of THE color white en plurt die rob dit erop. Over de ultimate rush gesproken:-)
Unfortunately she passed away in 1979. Loving you is an amazing song which is the basis and main theme of this. Great tribute, even tho she never heard this song or genre of music yet to be invented. I've seen The Orb at least a dozen times over the past 30 years or so, good times. Danka
try Outrage That Piano Track Don´t confuse because its base on Piano as Instrument The dynamic is absolutely "tribal" even more energizing in my Ears and Hips (-:
hey there fellows! can someone please recommend me some trax with a similar groove like this? you know this was my first step into electronic ambients and i've been diggin through a whole lots of sound, but rarely can find something compromising.. i've listened to lots of the orb trax, but they're making more dub/experimental stuff (which i also like). I'm just trying to find that deep, mystic, tribal house vibes.. would really appreciate your help! :)
Timeless groove , 2024 still banging 🎉

got it yesterday, after having it heard about 12 years ago and been looking for it since then!!

The KLF album "Chill Out" does it for me as well.
I sold my copy of this for £15 to buy beer in 1995. Ooooooooooh, that hurts.
Worth it at the time though?

Sounds like a bargain. You can still buy it for £20 on discogs. Beer is probably at least 2x as much as it was then.
you better mixed it with other good tracks & they would have danced & BROUGHT YA some free beer :p

LOL I have an Aphex Twin (actually Caustic Window) 12" that I didn't realize was 45 till I got a compilation CD with "We Are the Music Makers" on it.
The beat on this track sounds awesome at 0.75 speed too.
