I test drove the 2012Ford fusion hybrid and Camry hybrids. The Ford was a snail and the Camry seemed to have an extra rocket motor.
I bought the Camry. It also handles beautifully on curves as well.

Know that the Kia and Sonata hybrids are geared for better fuel efficiency on the highway. You should also take a look at the upcoming Fusion hybrid.

Something I'm always interested in when I'm test driving a sedan is where the lights are inside and if the car has them in the trunk. Often on some cars its a con when you look up and there's this cheap plastic covering they call your indoor cabin lights. So a quick 5 second shot of that would be nice!

Something to do with when the power is made in the rev range. Its sorta complicated to describe haha
He did mention "driving like an ACTUAL person" implying more aggressive way rather than the way manufacturers achieve their EPA estimates.
it's all about price. if you want a low price, buy an L or LE. Of course everybody would prefer to have the models you mentioned.

I think the thumbs down is for the hair. My guess the Kia will be out in the fall with the other returning models. I believe it gets Kia's new logo badge. Ooh! Ahh!
I'm guessing the reason to use the EV mode would have to be when you run out of gas. Even then a mile and a half isn't much.

tnx for replying Tom, maybe you should try putting on some Gel. so I was asking about the car 'cause i cant make up my mind between the '13 Optima Hybrid or '13 Sonata Hybrid. I used to have the Prius but i want something bigger, attactive and luxurious; with great MPG. which of the two cars would you get and why? 3 reasons plz :D im more concerned about the mechanical performance first, getting more for my money sencond, and design third(im 27 if it matters) TNX FOR ALL YOUR GREAT REVIEWS!
the fusion hybrid will get 46 mpg combined while this only gets 40 (41 in the le)...for the record that beats our 40 mpg 2004 honda civic mild hybrid

Im not a fan of Toyota but I admit I really like the interior of this Camry. But the exterior looks boring IMO and its not as fun to drive as some of the competition. But still a much better car than the last gen!

I think that the only camrys worth buying is the hybrid, XLE V6, XLE, and SE V6. there are better family cars out there than the LE and L.

why do the horsepowers not add up?
Because it’s a parallel hybrid meaning at any given moment, either the ICE engine or the traction motor can power the wheels independently or both in tandem; and with varying amount of power provided from either. Toyota hybrids are both simple and complex. They don’t use starter/alternator, transmission or clutch because the motor-generator combination act as both the starter, alternator/generator for charging the HV battery and transmission

That molded stitching is ugly & cheap the striped finish on the trim looks awful the new seats have that ugly white mix and the only improvement would be the stitched dashboard and the new front & rear styling
