JASDF RF-4 Phantoms boil the rain at Hyakuri Air Base, Japan

- On the morning of Friday 24th August 2018 these Japan Air Self-Defense Force RF-4s departed in some shocking weather from Hyakuri Air Base near Omitama, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. It was awesome to see the afterburner from their might J79s boiling off the water from the runway as they departed.
The camera gear made it out alive as well, but the wind was really strong after the rain cleared out. I hope it doesn't affect the video too much. Even the fluffy on my mic wasn't enough!

F-4 is one of the coolest and futuristic Jets to ever fly and that's saying a lot coming from a fighter pilot!
Futuristic … i seriously doubt your comment about being a pilot … as the f-4 was an early 60’s baby 🤦🏼♂️ . Not so ‘futuristic’

7:56 Sometimes is easy to forget how big the F-4 was. You see the pictures and think "it has a small vertical tail", when in really it is anything but small.
