I do powdercoating of outdoor drinking fountains (and bottle fillers). I've been with the company for 9 out of the last 20 years; There was a massive lay-off at our plant in January 2009, when some of our products were moved to another plant in a different state...at that point, I took up a trade, as the company paid for my school and books! Ironically, I ended up moving to the same state where the plant to which my job was shipped, but since I had gone to school for the HVAC trade, and the other plant was a 1.5 hour drive away from where I lived, I did not apply at the other plant, as I found an HVAC job only a couple miles down the road from where I lived. Long story short, I eventually moved back to my home state...had 2 major surgeries 5 years later (making the trade I worked, a bit difficult), and when I found out the great company that I worked for, for 7 years in the 2000s, was hiring for a position similar to the one I held before, I applied, and was re-hired! About a year before I came back, the plant manager made a risky decision to bring the drinking fountain powdercoating process (which was originally outsourced to another nearby company) to our plant, as it was more profitable from a business standpoint. Eventually, I showed the new plant manager, and my new supervisor that I was a hard-working and reliable employee, which is why, even though I'm not a supervisor, I am the employee who is now running the powdercoating operation at our plant... It is a job that a greatly enjoy, and I am both honored and humbled by the fact that I am put in this position, as only trustworthy, self-motivated employees get these type of positions. I have more responsibilities than I did doing metal polishing (industrial sinks), but it is not rough on the hands and joints like polishing was, and it is a rewarding experience to do this type of work. I truly enjoy my job, and am blessed to be a part of such a great company...also, I have many friends/co-workers from 20 years ago who are still with the company! I'm certainly not an "expert" in powdercoating, but I am always learning new tricks and techniques to make my job easier AND to produce quality products. Thank you for sharing this video! I am always very eager to learn more about the process of powdercoating, from people who have experience in this field. I have never heard of powdercoating with water, as I am still relatively new. Interesting stuff!
No matter how good the cinematography is that will always look like hammered ass. Always fun to experiment though.
Sometime art = stupidity
