This makes me thing of a masked man wearing eccentric clothes in a fantasy anime story setting & hes sitting high up in a super large RPG looking tree as big as a tall building & as hes singing this song strumming it on some harp-like instrument; hes remembering many things about people in his life as it all relates to this tree & village they grew up around. With a beautiful orange, purple, & pink sunset he looks at his town & can make out the people walking about running errands etc almost as if predictably on schedule contrary to him & his way of life. Its also almost as if hes singing the POV of the tree for the tree & in the end of the song he just vanishes into scattered leaves. Real anime RPG-ish ideas come to mind. Was also shocked to see this came out 12 years ago as I was almost certain it was new & inspired by various acts within the last 10 years. Noting that it isnt, the only other act i can think of that comes to mind seeing is that Barry Louis Polisar guy(w/ songs like "All I Want is You"...both songs having interesting lyrics & a pure innocence to them played acoustically). Salute.
