Thank you Nate, it’s very informative. This morning I came across your videos and have subscribed. I have been running for a few years and haven’t run a marathon race. Hope I will do my first one next year sometime and will practise what I learned from these videos. It’s nice to see a sub 220 marathoner talking about sub 4 and sub 330 in such a humble way.
Thanks for all you do. I really would love for you to use a whiteboard, get rid of the desk, and summarize key points you want to send across. Make your best one mile time your actual video length/time :). Thanks again for all the experience you are sharing with us.
I think it would be harder the longer you planned to race. If you think of athletes running low 2 hours their long runs are probably longer timewise. But the longer you're gonna be racing that's tougher to actually run time on feet long runs. And risk of injury must go up. I didn't really appreciate it until I raced a couple 50ks, but hats off to anyone running a marathon.
Hi Nathan . Now this might be a bit of a stupid question, but can you substitute the slow run with easy cycling ? Or is it crucial that your feet gets use to the road ? reason i ask is more geared in regards to ironman training, Thanks for some super videos/advice Regards Michael
Yes you can! Not a stupid question. Of course, nothing is going to match running itself. That being said, sometimes cross training is a great way to keep yourself motivated. You will have to cycle much longer and faster to match the same intensity as a run but mixing things up sometimes with cycling is not a bad idea. Hope this helps Dubs
@@rundreamachieve thanks for the quick reply. Sure helps a lot. I was thinking along them lines. But sometimes it's nice to get confirmation on what you are thinking. Again thanks for some amazing videos
Outstanding work Cuong with that 4:36! You definitely have it in you to go 3:59 or faster. Keep me updated and looking forward to hearing about the new big PR.
