I was inspired so much by your review of the Kimpton Maa-Lai in Bangkok I've booked to go there in January for a few nights. I'm a sucker for a cool design aesthetic, and your wonderful photography captured it really well. The 4k footage looks awesome on my LG OLED tv.
Lovely review as always. Sorry you got ripped off by using a taxi, it truly is like maffia. (being Dutch I’m feeling embarrassed 😌). Train is so convenient especially since the hotel is so close to the station and they run so frequently. But that’s of course all water under the bridge now. Thank you as always for another interesting video and make it esthetically so pleasing and beautiful🤩
I have a personal 'deal' with myself that allows me to waste money on taxis if I've had a very long day of travel and didn't have time to research other transport options 😂 Glad you enjoyed this one and thank you as always for your support!
Great review once again. I like that fruit, cutlery and silverware comes with the room. 2 Questions: 1) Is that the 'per night' rate in USD that you've stated in the description? 2) Is the mini-bar included in the room rate or do you pay extra if you use it?
Yes the rates I publish are always per night (unless otherwise specified). For the mini bar, it had one single bottle of water in it, and yes it was free 😂. The fruit and extra glass bottle of water I believe were additional AMEX welcome amenities. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Nice review! I was just in Amsterdam, and considered booking but instead went the Hilton route. I have Diamond status until January, so now wish I would’ve just tried the property. Staying at Kimpton Phoenix for my final hoorah as Diamond status, so hoping for a suite upgrade 🤞🏾. I only like Kimpton through IHG, I’ve had underwhelming experiences with Indigo and Continental.
I stayed there a few times when it was the Crowne Plaza. I liked it then! The train from the airport is the cheapest option, they are usually every 10 minutes, so no waiting around. I’m not sure I like the look of it now though!
4:00 I'm noticing more explanation is needed but your doing excellent and of course upgrades aren't special treatment if your paying lolol. Keep it up its neat to watch the changes :-)
this hotel seems to have added some ornate properties with Javanese culture, it can be seen from the carpet or floor used at 2:13 minutes then at 9:11 minutes also it looks like a Javanese style parapet in my opinion, this hotel seems to have a little theme about the tropics, and the design looks familiar in Indonesia in my opinion.
I stayed here when it was the Crowne Plaza. The rooms were small. It really catered to business travellers. Maybe as an award but I will not pay for this hotel.
Not sure how you can mark it down for not having a pool. Not many places have the space in Amsterdam as it's so old city and planners won't allow it. Also, the music on this video sounds like zombies and makes me feel sick. Finally, nice decor though. Loved that. I'd probably stay there if I went back. Looks much better than the IC in Malta and I was in 1 bed suite.
@@tfft I love your content but you have to admit that Kimpton hotels in Asia are 10 times beter then this hotel in Amsterdam. And especially when you consider how expensive it is for what it offers. Same goes for taxi in Amsterdam or restaurant prices. Whole city is overrated and service is terrible. But you know all of that 😉
