Totally agree. I think motorcycle adventuring has got lost somewhere along the way, ever since Long Way Round and the explosion in “Adventure” bikes, it seems like unless you’re doing a RTW trip or crossing continents it’s not an adventure. But there’s so much to see on our own doorstep. Just need to get a map out (remember those!) and head for the roads less travelled.
Thanks Freddie. Have to say this was probably one of my favourites of the Tenerife videos so far. I love the fact of getting off the beaten track and exploring smaller villages and towns, and amazing what you find when out there.
Hi Freddie, the 88 refers to the wheel base being 88 inches. It looks like a very late Series 2a or early Series 3. I believe Santana's were built in Spain under licence from LandRover fir export to Africa and South America.
A Land Rover 88 - just a 88" wheelbase - an early one! Look at that wiring - all you have to do is connect it up again and it'll go like, well a Land Rover. Did his one have an engine?!! We did an off-road course in a LWB Land Rover 110" diesel - absolutely indestructible and tackled immense gradients and ice-rutted tracks. Suprisingly we did not come off them and the old Landie took it all in its stride. Interesting side roads off the T28 with sheer drops off the nearside - nerves of steel and includes you Monika!
"Just look at those wheel arches Monika - its a bit of surface rust Monika but nothing to worry about at all " LOL Freddie loves saying these words :) Great video once again guys :)
I had lunch (Ginsters and a Fanta) in my Land Rover yesterday, and in a petrol station car park (as the rain and wind sheeted against the windows). You guys make it look infinitely more classy and enjoyable! Thank you 😊
0:20 MT-01 alert. I have one in Portugal, as I have said before. If you rode one, you'd want one: 130 kph/81 mph at 3,000 rpm in top gear. Maybe I should keep mine. It's a 2011 and in really good nick, only 20,000 km. I really like your panniers. 7:15 that's how trip metres should be set. I understand your love of Land Rovers. Yes! I bet you’re an incredibly proud owner of the MT01! They’ll just be going up and up in value I think (as well as being an incredible bike to ride I’m sure!😀).
It is only a small part of the TF28, it is approximately 80 km to Santa Cruz. Doing it all in one go can be dizzying with so much curve, but with so much to see... Greetings Freddie and Monika
Nice ride...Hey Monica how far up that long road did Freddie get...3...4..miles ?....On my 1977 Triumph she had a beautiful tank that was red and white with a gold pinstripe the tank was made like a motorcycle tank should be made rounded off underneath I always kept that tank clean....now a black cheap tank on Freddies bike covered in dirt on a road ride ...well it seems to help it out a bit..lol...great videos
It’s a landrover series 3, 88 is the wheelbase, all landrovers were specified by wheelbase, series 3 short wheelbase were 88 and long wheelbase 109 in, the 90 and 110 were newer versions just pre the defender name being used. That little red car it's a SEAT Panda Terra, I've had one years ago. Its not a modified car, it comes as you saw it and also comes with a canvas roof. And the other white car It's a 1980 Mitsubishi Lancer. Great video but the TF-28 is about 92 Kms (57 Miles) and there are hundreds of hiden gems to be discovered, you are doing a great job discovering all those places to the world. Well done buddy.

19:50 That Mitsubishi is called the Lancer in the Philippines and aruably the most iconic Japanese car of the 80s here. Rear wheel drive, we lovingly call it the "box type." The rare GSR trim was the one to have.
It was originally created in 1956 as "Metalúrgica de Santa Ana, S.A." to manufacture agricultural machinery, but soon, in 1961, it began to produce off-road cars under licence from Land Rover, which would send complete knock-down kits to Santana's factory in Linares to be assembled there.

I’ve been wondering about this night walk up El Teide for a while. We drove up to the lift station at 11pm just to see the stars, but I must do this actual sunrise walk while we’re here. Thanks for the tip Edward- I’ll save this🙂
That Mitsubishi in NZ would be a Lancer. They were common as muck here in the 80's, still see the odd one around, most of however succumbed to the dreaded rust. Great video Freddie, keep em coming.
At 20:04 into the video is a Mk1 Mitsubishi Lancer (Wite) Cool car and if you get a turbo version, they are worth a lot! Again you make a fantastic video! :)
Really missed the review of the protective pale blue button up riding shirt, though was slightly disappointed you weren't sporting a contrasting tie with a full windsor knot.
Stage 3 tuned MT-01 is something to behold , the noise they emit is like music to my ears. Sadly as much as I loved them fortune never shone in my direction and had to admire from afar. You ever get the chance invest in one 👍
Thank you for another one! I always think the last one of your productions was the best but then you come out with another one! How did you not get slapped with Monikas gloves after you threw them at her? 🤣. Have a lovely week guys and see you next Sunday! Get filming 😉
Pointing out the dust on your bike I noticed that your chain is a little rusty perhaps and automatic chain oiler would be a good investment. However I'm also quite concerned about the brake fluid reservoir on your handlebars I've never seen one with fluid that colour
Bike maintenance day tomorrow so i’ll clean the chain and bike🙂🏍🧽 Hmmm, I’d never noticed this so will look into the brake fluid. Thanks for the heads u, Phillip🙂
Hey Freddie and Monika, congrats on another class vlog. I know that T28 well, it's the old main road from Santa Cruz to Los Cristianos (and Ferry Gomera). It connects all the municipal capitals (formerly menceyes in guanche times) from Guimar to Granadilla and is truly spectacular - well worth a day out. I cycled it from El Medano to Santa Cruz in 2016 and it remains a highlight of my time on the island. I can recommend a beach trip to El Puertito, near Armenime. It's the last unspoilt beach in the South but the developers are circling and it'll be built up within a few years. Take the bike, there's nowhere to park a car! Take the path to the left from the beach for an idyllic coastal walk. Enjoy!
The tourist area's of spain are great but like yourselves i always want to see where the locals live going about there daily business, Makes me want to hire a car and drive along these roads thanks freddie and monika.
Pretty sure the land rover 88 is just the equivalent as a series 3 Land Rover, my granddad use to have a series 1 which he use to tow his banger racing cars behind, it’s been restored by a fella in Devon, would love to buy it back but don’t think he will sell!
Ahh Ok I didn’t know this, so the 88 will correspond to the British 3 Series. Thanks Cameron🙌🏻 A Series 1; ridiculously desirable now! That is a very cool mental image of one of those towing a banger racing car around🤩👌🏻🚚🚗
Interestingly the white Jeep Grand Cherokee that you spotted is probably the one to have, they seem to be rocketing in price in the Uk for those early square ones
Thx for that nice cruising around Teneriffa. It warms the heart at minus degrees , especially in Tarantino style 🤩👍🏻 ps.: the real vid starts at 4:17 ☝🏻
Another AMAZING video Freddie. Loved it. Here are my observations (sounds like a boss isn’t it 🙂) 1) Your dress was coool .. (my favorite) .. but.. you didn’t show what Monika was wearing (for this one extra cup of coffee for Monika) 2) The background music was awesome (sounded like James Bond 🔫movie) 3) Your bike was next to clean (just like mine 😁) 4) Your drinks break at the Land Rover spot was just coool .. though it seemed you had it all alone ( very bad ) 5) And lastly , you looked bit stressed .. take care. Thanks once again for the lovely video .,, incredible place . Lots of love 👍
Hi Dr Bhaskar! I love the observations- thank you🙂 I did try to get Monika in the video, but I couldn’t persuade her today🎥🤚🏼💁🏻♀️ Really glad you liked the music and gear and I’ll need to get a good night sleep to look less stressed next time. Although I do have a fairly easy life, so I’m surprised I don’t look more relaxed!😆
Another video that I enjoyed very much, loved the landy (even if not original), I learned to drive in one of them over 30 years ago. I also had a W123 Mercedes for a short period (was too expensive), a 230 without injection just like in the video. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Really glad you enjoyed it! Learning to drive in a Landy must’ve been a real experience. Those old Mercs get more beautiful with every year that goes by😍🚗

The dream bike for me from the 70s was the 2 stroke Kawasaki H2 I had. A total beast of 750cc 2 stroke triple. 12 sec standing 1/4 mile went like a scolded cat in a straight line, but if tried cornering A&E awaited you. Ended up in more hedges and ditches that I care to remember, but the 2 stroke days of the 70s were the greatest to me...just the noise alone! I am a bit of skeptic, but I know a lot of aspects about BTC. So, let's make few things straight - BTC is an investment asset - like gold, it's scarce, but it's easier to acquire it and big players like pay-pal and grayscale are holding it, same with a lot of banking institutions, hedge funds and masses of people, self-host wallet btc owner whales have a hard time selling it without doing KYC and in some cases, this can wreck them financially. People lose access to their btc wallets which makes that btc frozen for all time. The Hype and FOMO is on the rise and most people only buy and hold with btc. I mean you have to understand that normal stock market fundamentals don't apply here. It's not a 2017 - 2018 scenario. The regulation added to BTC can actually even make it more desirable(although have a minus). Basically, anything that could stop the mooning of btc imo would be extreme regulation restrictions and also better investment opportunities discovered by btc owners. However , it’s is best advice you find a working strategy/daily signals that works well in other to accumulate and grow a very strong portfolio ahead. I have been trading with Mr Mohamed Luc daily signals and strategy, him guidance makes trading less stressful and more profit despite the recent fluctuations. I was able to easily increase my portfolio in just 4weeks of trading with Mohamed daily signals growing 1.5 BTC to 6.7 BTC. His daily signals are very accurate and yields a great positive return on investment and is available to give assistance to anyone who love crypto trading, you can contact him on Telegram @ MohamedLuc* * for inquires and profitable trading systems.

Muchos gracias, Paco! I was wondering why there are so many Mercedes in Tenerife and this explains it!🙂👌🏻
@@FreddieDobbs SIi,teniamos lo que se llama puertos francos o libres,y muchos peninsulares venian a canarias a comprar articulos varios, coches, radios televisores etc...etc...
Good choice Freddie great road for riding done it many times
Just a tip for you and Monica if you’ve not already done it the night walk up el teide we started at 11pm rested at about 2pm at the rescue centre then done the last leg of the walk to the top for sunrise best experience ever ✌️🏍
I’ve been wondering about this night walk up El Teide for a while. We drove up to the lift station at 11pm just to see the stars, but I must do this actual sunrise walk while we’re here. Thanks for the tip Edward- I’ll save this🙂
Hi, off the beaten track and fun along the way , thanks for the trip and a very interesting road to travel . Ride safe.
Pick of this week would have to be the 848 albeit not in white, Cheers Freddie and Monica
It’s a stunning bike- I’d buy one just for the looks😍🏍
That Mitsubishi in NZ would be a Lancer. They were common as muck here in the 80's, still see the odd one around, most of however succumbed to the dreaded rust. Great video Freddie, keep em coming.
Thanks Julian!🙂
If they were in the UK, I think 99% would’ve rusted away before I had an interest in cars, because I have no memory of them at all😳
At 20:04 into the video is a Mk1 Mitsubishi Lancer (Wite) Cool car and if you get a turbo version, they are worth a lot! Again you make a fantastic video! :)
And rear wheel drive too, I’ve just been told!😳👌🏻👌🏻
Really missed the review of the protective pale blue button up riding shirt, though was slightly disappointed you weren't sporting a contrasting tie with a full windsor knot.
😆
Stage 3 tuned MT-01 is something to behold , the noise they emit is like music to my ears.
Sadly as much as I loved them fortune never shone in my direction and had to admire from afar.
You ever get the chance invest in one 👍
They’re insane, ridiculous and over the top- everything needed for a very desirable classic!👌🏻🏍🙂
Thank you for another one! I always think the last one of your productions was the best but then you come out with another one! How did you not get slapped with Monikas gloves after you threw them at her? 🤣. Have a lovely week guys and see you next Sunday! Get filming 😉
I was preparing myself for a slap!🧤😆
Really glad you enjoyed the video🙌🏻🙌🏻
Pointing out the dust on your bike I noticed that your chain is a little rusty perhaps and automatic chain oiler would be a good investment. However I'm also quite concerned about the brake fluid reservoir on your handlebars I've never seen one with fluid that colour
Bike maintenance day tomorrow so i’ll clean the chain and bike🙂🏍🧽
Hmmm, I’d never noticed this so will look into the brake fluid. Thanks for the heads u, Phillip🙂
@@FreddieDobbs I watched you clean it must have been the sand.
Freddie and Monika..fab vid..nailed it again..who chooses the music?! Away from the touristy bits is always more interesting!
Thanks Alan!
Monika does everything creative (editing, music, thumbnail)- all her🙂👩🏻🦱📷💻
She’s a talented lady..I trust you’ve signed her up on a long contract! 😉
Enjoy!
Thank you so much Stuart- I’ve just saved El Puertito to my list👌🏻
And thank you for the T28 info; I didn’t know that about the municipal capitals
Great video guys . What a fantastic bike road 👌 very interesting
MT -01 not available in the States we have the 7 and the 10 alot of fun
The tourist area's of spain are great but like yourselves i always want to see where the locals live going about there daily business, Makes me want to hire a car and drive along these roads thanks freddie and monika.
Really glad you enjoyed the video and find the local towns and villages (i often find them more interesting than the touristy spots)
Great videos we should see more of Monica
Thanks! And I’ve shown this to Monika🙂💁🏻♀️🎥
Thanks Cameron🙌🏻
A Series 1; ridiculously desirable now! That is a very cool mental image of one of those towing a banger racing car around🤩👌🏻🚚🚗
Interestingly the white Jeep Grand Cherokee that you spotted is probably the one to have, they seem to be rocketing in price in the Uk for those early square ones
Very true; I really enjoy watching UK Jeep prices- they are superb investments👌🏻👌🏻
Hi, Freddie, great videos, by the way the surfshark link doesn't work, any ideas?
Brilliant, you two again. I want to live in TENERIFE. 😭😭😭
Thx for that nice cruising around Teneriffa. It warms the heart at minus degrees , especially in Tarantino style 🤩👍🏻
ps.: the real vid starts at 4:17 ☝🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!🙂
As usual so relaxing to watch any of the videos!
Great job Fred and camera lady, new sub👍😎
Delighted you found the channel, thanks Steve!🙂
Awesome video and awesome content can’t wait for the next video Thank’s Freddie and Monika
Really glad you enjoyed it, Jason!🙂
Yep it’s another Spanish assembled Landrover that uses a mix of British and local supplied parts, good find.
Thanks Stuart🙂
Another AMAZING video Freddie. Loved it.
Here are my observations (sounds like a boss isn’t it 🙂)
1) Your dress was coool .. (my favorite) .. but.. you didn’t show what Monika was wearing (for this one extra cup of coffee for Monika)
2) The background music was awesome (sounded like James Bond 🔫movie)
3) Your bike was next to clean (just like mine 😁)
4) Your drinks break at the Land Rover spot was just coool .. though it seemed you had it all alone ( very bad )
5) And lastly , you looked bit stressed .. take care.
Thanks once again for the lovely video .,, incredible place . Lots of love 👍
Hi Dr Bhaskar!
I love the observations- thank you🙂
I did try to get Monika in the video, but I couldn’t persuade her today🎥🤚🏼💁🏻♀️
Really glad you liked the music and gear and I’ll need to get a good night sleep to look less stressed next time. Although I do have a fairly easy life, so I’m surprised I don’t look more relaxed!😆
@@FreddieDobbs 😂😁👍✌️
Waiting for the next blog then..relatively more quickly 😊👍
Try TF 436 amazing road and incredible views but seriously twisty and narrow
Saved to the list, thanks Cal🙂🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Another video that I enjoyed very much, loved the landy (even if not original), I learned to drive in one of them over 30 years ago. I also had a W123 Mercedes for a short period (was too expensive), a 230 without injection just like in the video.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Really glad you enjoyed it! Learning to drive in a Landy must’ve been a real experience. Those old Mercs get more beautiful with every year that goes by😍🚗
What is your opinion on the Triumph legend 900 tt Model year 2001?
I’ve been following prices of these for five years with interest! Classic good looks, it looks incredibly comfy and usable (touring etc) and is a rock solid investment. I’m a big fan!❤️🏍👌🏻🙂
@@FreddieDobbs Cool 😊 I hope you have a chance to try one!
I bought one myself last year 🏍
And it is my first bike and I'm gonna get my license in april 😊🏍
Hopefully 😅
My crystal ball sees a 2022 Top Salesman of the Year Award: Used Cars & VPN for All: Sir Freddie Dobbs. You see, I’m projecting an appointment from the Queen herself before she retires.
Thank you!😆🚗💻👸🏻
Great video, thanks Monika and Freddie. Love them.👍
Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks Peter!
Crackin road there Freddie there does seem to be a lot of wrecks about ! shame they don't do it with bikes : ) .Hasta la proxima ambos .
I’m desperate to find an interesting abandoned bike!🤞🏻🤞🏻
Love your channel. Started watching it with you moving. Is Monika editing? Great job. Pozdrawiam ;)
If you like old building renovations then check out Carl Rogers. He’s renovating an old farm house in France. Great video as always guy 👍
I’ll save this channel, thanks Ronan🙂
27k + Subs Houston we have lift off ! Excellent as usual.
Thanks very much Kim!🙂
Another brilliant video, perfect Sunday evening viewing in Australia! How did you get away with growing the gloves at Monika?!?! 😆
And she enjoyed picking up that gloves, beautiful
Good one ☝️
Another great video! Thanks
Thanks Vic!
It is a LR88 pre LR90 1970 maybe 80s.
Make that land Rover a project car. It will be the perfect companion to the Bonnie
This is all I’ve been thinking about- it is the perfect pair!
Land Rover 88 predates the 90. My brother has a 1953 Land Rover which was 80", the original short wheelbase.
Thanks Steve! Dropping to an 80” is tiny in comparison, wow!😳
Freddie you should test ride the mt01 ?
I am DESPERATE to!
I've just bought one and would love to hear your thoughts.
OMG you have sponsors now, they grow so fast :')...
The Old Main Road looks very interesting. Are you going to do the whole thing one day? I would love to see that video👍😀
Thanks again for sharing, your videos are always amazing.👌
Definitely we’ll do the whole thing soon; we ended up stopping way to much but I’ll make sure we carried on from where we ended this time🙂🤘🏻🏍🛣
Delighted you enjoyed the video, Phil🙂
Loved the vid, loved the Landy but for god's sake Freddie, PUT SOME OIL ON THE CHAIN OF THE TRIUMPH! It's rustier than the hull of the titanic! lol Keep em coming....and I reckon you and Monica would look really cool in a restored old Landy........just sayin' 😉
Tomorrow’s cleaning and chain maintenance day. In the next video it’ll be looking incredible!🤩🏍
Please don’t tempt me- I’ve been on Autotrader all day!😆🚚
Is honda Dax the little brown bike
That's 88 as in 88" wheelbase. 😁
Awesome ✌✌✌
Thanks Carlos!
Nice 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you🙌🏻
That’s a Land Rover built under license in Spain by Santana…
Hi Fred, Does your bike have a name?
I don’t know why, but I’ve never named any of my vehicles (cars or bikes)
@@FreddieDobbs my car is called Duncan 😂 maybe Monica shoukd think of a name seeing as your bike is a main character in your adventures?
Mitsubishi Lancer, I used to own one 😄
The dream bike for me from the 70s was the 2 stroke Kawasaki H2 I had. A total beast of 750cc 2 stroke triple. 12 sec standing 1/4 mile went like a scolded cat in a straight line, but if tried cornering A&E awaited you. Ended up in more hedges and ditches that I care to remember, but the 2 stroke days of the 70s were the greatest to me...just the noise alone! Watch this and you will see what I mean: th-cam.com/video/wkqfwfjdCJ4/w-d-xo.html
Fantastic, I’ll watch this this eve!🙂
Love it
It’s a Land Rover series 3 88” produced in Spain by Santana from CKD kits. Later models had a higher local content with some styling differences.
After living in a place like that, how could you ever return to the cackhole that is SE London 🤔
I liked his UK vids.
🤣🤣
It’d be a shock to the system, although I’m 99% sure we won’t be returning to that SE London flat
That is an o.d Mitsubishi Galant….
I was watching you fill up then you put your trip metre to zero that's what I do because I don't have a fuel gauge for 🏍
I would’ve been stuck in the middle of nowhere a few times without doing this🙂👌🏻
Morning guys. Still can not get over the service station has a bar lol
It’s another world! And even here at 2pm on a Friday, probably 50% of people were having alcohol over a coffee🍺☕️
There seems to be graffiti everywhere even in the road
Honestly I didn’t notice, but Tenerife’s not too bad for grafiti (although I am comparing it to SE London!). But honestly it’s not too bad in Tenerife🙂👌🏻
Look after your chain Freddie, look after your chain. (sorry to be an old fart)
You’ll enjoy tomorrow’s video Gary- I do something very unusual (for me)🧽😆
Thanks Freddie I enjoy them all, and my wife is now a big fan too... Win win
I would subscribe but the surf shark patter is so boring.
