You're best off leaving trickle chargers/battery conditioners plugged in permanently. Try some AC50 instead of WD40. Excellent episode. I have a brand new Triumph and the battery was dead within days (they're awful) - I bought an Optimate which has done the trick, until I get a Lithium battery to swap out.
Very interesting- a good chunk of people have said the same; that they as routine plug in their bikes every night, and also that many modern bike batteries die incredibly quickly. Thank you!🙂
@@FreddieDobbs I think you're right, plug it in overnight or whenever you're not riding it and the trick is to get a battery conditioner rather than a charger. They cycle the battery and monitor it rather than charging it to full. That's what I've gathered anyway, I'm no expert, though. Yes, the batteries are dreadful.
I watched this video thinking exactly the same "someone needs to introduce Freddie to ACF 50" It will do a much better job of cleaning the bike, you don't even need the jet wash. It'll get all the grime off and will polish the bike as well as leaving a water repellent film on there too. Originally designed for the aerospace industry and much loved by motorcycle owners. Love the videos !
Freddie, just remember that WD40 is a solvent, so even thou it makes the bike look good it does after time damaged paint work, can damages cabling and loosen connections, removes lubricants from chains and seal etc….
Glad you said that, because when he said that he was using WD-40 I thought "what?" it's a water repellant and degreaser! I'm not sure why you would cover the whole bike in this 🤔

I wonder if Tenerife is a good place to retire in. How's the cost of living? Seems like the perfect place for a relaxed motorcyclist.
Gerald. as someone who even at an early age would never retire in UK I scouted southern Europe for years eventually settled on the canaries.
the opportunity to buy a business here prompted me to jump early.
as a worker it's not great but as a retiree it's as good as it gets.
cost of living is impossible to quantify because everyone lives differently
if you relocate you live a different life so you can't even compare your old life v your new life.
as regards motorcycling. All the islands are extremely popular with bikers. roads, weather and (outside town) low traffic means it's a perfect bikers paradise
Thank you for the insight Richard.
WD40 fixes half of the world’s problems - my wife replied that she could use the thing that fixes the other half of the worlds problems to stop me saying that 🤭 (note to self, hide the duct tape).
