TROUT Fishing Mountain Stream for Brown, Brook & Rainbow

- I went trout fishing in a beautiful mountain stream for brown, brook and rainbow trout! I used a single hook prototype Fish Hawk spinner. The stream was low and clear but super cold. The trout were very finicky and difficult to catch. I fished hard and was able to catch 3 different species of trout to complete the trout trifecta. I also lost several trout which isn't uncommon when using a single hook lure. I love fishing this mountain stream because of the beautiful scenery and the challenging trout that live here. I'll be back!

Amazing! Size doesn’t matter. It’s getting out and enjoying fishing and the “scenery”. Yea I understand why some streams require single hooks, it makes fishing that much harder lol.

Ha. I just posted about fishing on the Esopus. I fish the Esopus all the time. I will have to try that out. I generally have good success with just the two classic Panther Martins. Either the yellow with red dots or black with yellow dots. I feel I do slightly better with the black. But I have had such decent success with those two that I have not tried a ton of lures. Occasionally I will switch off to just a split shot and worm.

I predominantly spin fish for trout on the Esopus Creek in NY and have watched quite a few of your videos and it is interesting to me that it seems most of your hook ups are on more upstream casts. Granted I haven't exactly counted so that could be wrong but I am curious if that is the case. I have definitely caught plenty on upstream casts but (again very unscientific) I feel more of my hook ups are slightly downstream. When I cast up stream I do make sure to reel faster to keep those blades spinning and avoid snags. Unfortunately I still lose most of my lures casting upstream as well. Thank you for your videos!
