I feel so blessed to be a kid when He_Man came out in the 1980's. What a great cartoon. Great characters. Great lessons and storylines. Great artwork and voice actors. All around great show. Still #1
Holy crap I used to listen to this in the 80s when I was a kid and look out the window to the stars knowing eternia was out there somewhere I always remember this song in recored, even its been decades since I heard it last. Thank you so much for these memorys and the warmness it brings me, I had this same record, I'm still in shock..
Dear lord, I remember this! I was 12, and listened to this on my (deep breath) AM/FM, cassette, 8 track, three speed record player stereo. Thank you so much!
Last Christmas, my dad gave me digitized versions of all of the old kids' records my family had back in the 80s, including Sesame Street, various Disney movies, and this gem -- He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. I somehow forgot about them until a few weeks ago, and finally listened to part of this on the way to work this morning. Twenty seconds into it, I knew I had to post something about it, and was pleased to find it here (@Melissa, the speed sounds the same to me). This album is pure 80s awesomeness that swings back and forth from being bad, to so bad it's good, back to bad again. Anybody who ever watched the cartoon will immediately notice that the only thing that's the same is the names of the characters. Everything else is different, including a different theme song (that lasts for nearly 5 minutes!) and different voice actors (no high-pitched cackling Skeletor). And that theme song -- WOW! It seems more like something you'd hear on a charity telethon, ala "We Are The World", or maybe "He-Man on Ice" or an elementary school show. It has more 80s-riffic synthesizer effects than you can shake a Battle Cat at. And the writing? Oy, the prose is more purple than Skeletor's Snake Mountain. "Eternia -- even in the name you can hear the magic, the roar of the winds that rip their way through the rocky mountaintops...Eternia -- the equatorial vine jungle whose steamy swamps swarm with gigantic serpents and twisted, man-eating plants whose roots dangle dangerously, waiting to trap and devour any foolhardy intruder. Eternia -- where the evergreen forest towers..." To the purple prose, add some really hammy, overly-melodramatic voice acting (I love it when people say "e-ville"), and you've got pure gold. And once the dialogue starts (with He-Man, around 10:20), there are times when it sounded like it could be a cheesy romance novel (at least judging from the romance novel that is read in one of the "Naked Gun" movies) or slashfic. I also love how they were reeeeeeally padding things out to fill up the album. "Here, I will toss this stick out onto the lawn, and you will find it and return it to me. Do you understand?" How about "fetch!" instead?
Wow! My mum and dad bought this for my brother and I in Woolworths back in the early 80s! I can still remember all the words!! Brought back so many memories! Thanks for uploading!! :-)
A really strong atmosphere, almost as tight as the four early Minicomics by Alfredo Alcala. I do believe this a great record when you listen to it as a child. I really enjoy it even today at 41.
I've been looking for a copy of this for the longest time. Playing it non-stop when I was a kid helped my vocabulary and diction, as well as learn the importance of dramatic pauses. Thanks a lot.
Holy crap this brings me way back god I listened to this like on a daily basis for a long time. I was just looking for this for some crazy ass reason. I remembered that the theme song on it was unnaturally long
wow this bring me back bout 30 years.Great cheesy dialogue and 80s themes. listen at night bedtime story. Voices of the elders used to scare the jesus out of me.
I use have this record when I was a kid in the 80s I'm 39 years old i play this song over and over i think i was he-man i was a young kid and this song was great in the year 2020 it still good song
Thank you for uploading this! I've been searching for this album for years! So many good memories with this music. I wish I still had mine from back when. Thanks again!
No problem my friend. This is my original copy of the record that I've had since the mid 80's. Got it for only a couple of Dollars at Lionel Playworld.
Interesting. My folks got it for me when I was little so I was only able to remember a little bit about it but I thought I would search for it just for a bit of fun and lo and behold here it is. I have no idea what happened to my copy. My dad probably has it in his collection...somewhere. Its nice to know though that it has survived through the years though with someone.
Thank you so much for uploading this! This record scared the HELL out of me as a 5-year-old, lol. My parents made me stop listening to it after I complained to them about nightmares, lol. Nevertheless, I’m so glad I got to hear it again many years later!
I saw this record back in the 80's but for never picked this one up. I love this theme song, I can't get enough thunder cracks. Drinking game: listen to this song and take a drink for every thunder crack you hear. Lol
Never heard this before but I had a record that came with a story book. Could be wrong but I think they came with the Point Dread and Talon Fighter toy. My brother also had a record from the UK fanclub. It was a straightforward song that was basically saying character names over and over and sounded like Lemmy kilmister narrating at the start, haha.
Hahaha This is amazing. I used to have this record too and listened to it almost nonstop. It's super cheesy fun. I've been looking for a video of this or the record itself for years. Thanks for uploading this. Does the record have a publication date and cast list? I'd be interested to see what's what.
Wow amazing! The 'vortex' bit used to scare the living shit out of me as a kid.. Possibly pitched a little low though if you compare to this one th-cam.com/video/5EL1EJ_Exbc/w-d-xo.html

It’s been over 30 years but I think it’s time we all stop and appreciate that this theme song still absolutely S-L-A-P-S.

Jimmy Blaine spiritually enlightened.
I know just how you feel man.
Same here I went looking online about this and found the actual thing and lost it!!!
This just unlocked sooooo many childhood memories right now. I’m almost in tears.
I've been looking for this for years!! No one believed me on that Master of Universe opening song. Amazing!
Wow, this is taking me back like I can’t describe. I used to fall asleep to this as a kid in the 80s. What a wild ride! Thank you for uploading this!
OMG I used to have this as a kid!!!! I haven't heard the song in the intro in over over thirty years... I'm practically in tears, man.
Dear lord, I remember this! I was 12, and listened to this on my (deep breath) AM/FM, cassette, 8 track, three speed record player stereo. Thank you so much!

Omg me tooooo! It's so creepy!
This is the most epic thing ever.
Sounds just as good as it did when I was little.

I've been looking everywhere for this......I love this album! We are the Masters of the Universe!!!
I had this on cassette back in the day. But I still love the crackle of the record here.
I randomly sing this to myself... I desperately need to make a stop-motion music video for it with my Classics figures haha
The opening song sounds like it came from Kiss music from the elder.
I know right? This song sounds like a cross between "I am just a boy" and "Odyssey" from the Elder.
The Elders cheesy , but kind of awesome too .
Yes to all!
That only makes is better IMO :)
Exactly
I cannot believe I found this! Thanks so much for uploading this.
Wow... I had this album as a kid. Maybe 6-8 years old. Takes me back
Holy crap this brings me way back god I listened to this like on a daily basis for a long time. I was just looking for this for some crazy ass reason. I remembered that the theme song on it was unnaturally long

I may or may not still have this hidden somewhere in my old room, but I listened to this non stop on my fisher price record player
Thanks for finding and sharingg this, I really was starting to think I imagined it!
I completely forgot how descriptive these stories were, and hearing the static at the beginning and end of the record takes me back.
totally remember seeing this in stores back in the day . thanks for sharing the POWER !!!
I use have this record when I was a kid in the 80s I'm 39 years old i play this song over and over i think i was he-man i was a young kid and this song was great in the year 2020 it still good song
It's amazing how no other 'He-Man' cartoon has never touched on Infinita. We just have Skeletor on Eternia, and that's it.
Thank you for uploading this! I've been searching for this album for years! So many good memories with this music. I wish I still had mine from back when. Thanks again!

One of my Top-3-Masters audio plays
7:45
I only had one of the MOTU recorders.
DOES ANY1 ELSE find similarities between this rock in' track and THE MOST MYSTERIOUS SONG ON THE INTERNET?
Magnificent.
If I'm not mistaken, I think it came out 30 years ago.
I'm 4 years old again!
@5:00 minutes long intro song.
@10:25 narrator exposition dump ends, story proper begins.
This is simply childhood.
wow holy shit, same as DraconicCynic, I had this record and had it playing all the time as a kid, and just hearing the starting beat takes me back
Wow thanks I was looking for this I thought I was the only one to have this
Brilliant
Is this the right speed for this record? It should be a little bit faster to my recollection.
Weird to hear Skeletor with a deep voice. I was always used to hearing him with a high pitched voice like in the cartoon.
Can anyone find this but in french ? you would be golden
My first record in the 80's
Hahaha This is amazing. I used to have this record too and listened to it almost nonstop. It's super cheesy fun. I've been looking for a video of this or the record itself for years. Thanks for uploading this.
Does the record have a publication date and cast list? I'd be interested to see what's what.
Thank You!!!!!
Does this one add a lower male lead voice? I'll have to dig out my record player to be sure. Thanks for posting!
Isnt the narrator the same guy who narrated Transformers?
I’m not sure if it’s Transformers or something else, but he *definitely* sounds familiar. He’s done other voice work in the 80s no doubt.
As far as I know it is.
Wow amazing! The 'vortex' bit used to scare the living shit out of me as a kid.. Possibly pitched a little low though if you compare to this one th-cam.com/video/5EL1EJ_Exbc/w-d-xo.html
he sounds way to much Like Stan Lee for it not to be him, sigh, i hope it is!
