Good work! For some reason I always managed to do my best landings when doing the night course... wish the ones during daylight were even half as good! 😆
Had my first night flight last night with 10 landings. I noticed I did exactly what they said in the video and let the runway come up way faster than anticipated. Flared too high and dropped a couple feet for a rough landing on 2 of them. I was the complete opposite of you lol My day landings have been butter and the night ones a little rough for sure.
Are you still flying at Blackpool Ben? Just finished up my PPL and planning a night rating soon w Westair - hopefully I’ll see you around for your 5 years of good advice!
Night pushes risk up if your over darkness same as flying in IMC. If you lose vacuum pump risk goes even higher. Kind of a catch 22 flying over city makes it easier but if you have a engine out forced landing at night in city more difficult.
Enjoyed the series Ben, Instructor was excellent didn't speak too often and offered some excellent tips .
These 2 vids are great the instructor is great so down to earth really enjoyed these
Excellent video, thank you Ben. I am on to night rating in 3 weeks , looks rather dark ;)

+Nick T maybe because it's a bit more still at night? Nice to hear you enjoyed your training!

Great flight and well documented cheers
Great vid. I did my night rating a few months before at EGNH also. Landing without the landing light is horrid :D
+Brigante Design thanks a lot! It certainly is tricky with no landing light.
Nice work Ben.
