@@gaguy1967 I value your opinion. In commercial flying you cannot choose your day and the weather. In some occasions you have to do also flights that are not comfortable. A big difference is however to do flights that intentionally will exceed the limits of the aircraft and the pilot. That is something I would never do. As a side note, I appreciate comments under the clear name of the author. Thank you. Happy Landings, Capt. Guido
@@gaguy1967 Thousands of flights a day are flown on schedule and with a need to get somewhere, through weather much worse than this. That alone is not the cause of the accident. Get there itis is a slang term for plan continuation bias or when a pilot is determined to reach the destination beyond the limits of pilot / aircraft or not taking into account changes in conditions that result in very dangerous flying. Normally the plane is overloaded with pax and bags, the density altitude is bad, weather marginal etc etc - but you still fly. This is a pilot only flight so aircraft performance should be good. It wasn't clear if there was retrofit anti-ice, but in the face of icing pilot adjusted promptly to descend all the way down to 7,000. A nice glass panel. An experienced pilot who planned with bad weather in mind (seemed to know cross wind limits which can be a gotcha). Riskier? Sure. But it didn't strike me as way out of bounds. When your friends show up with heavy bags and you don't leave them behind because you'd be overweight - THAT is get there itis and VERY easy to have that cause a problem.

Thank you Brian. It is sometimes chill aging to adjust to the different rules in different countries. Most of the stuff is standardized, especially when IFR flying. I would be very cautious to fly VFR on an area that I do not know. Happy Landings, Capt. Guido

Thank you! The most important for a landing is: > stay on centerline > touch down in the predetermined zone, TDZ touch down zone > fly at correct speed Passengers rate a landing more about the "smoothness". It is nothing as a nice add on. Safety is no 1. Happy Landings, Capt. Guido
Enjoyed this video very much. I fly a Cessna 172, manufactured in 1979. So, none of the "bells and whistles" you enjoy. This is a great example of the workload involved as PIC of a small aircraft, even with all the fancy new gadgets. I encountered icing one time around Ogden, Utah. That will get the heartrate going as much as a hairy X-wind landing. Thank you for all your efforts.

Capt. Guido
Welcome back, you have been missed
Thank you for the friendly welcome!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
I so appreciate your the professionalism you exhibit as a pilot.
Thank you Stacey.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
@t
Good Flying sir. I like when you show the instruments and what they do.
Thank you very much, Mark.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
That weather situation would have made me park and wait lol. Some damn good flying right there
Not much of an option. The weather was safe to fly and the customer was waiting for his aircraft that I ferried all the way from the USA to him.
Not sure if I would have done the flight with passengers on board.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Guido Warnecke umm, some get there itis
@@GuidoWarnecke that is called "get thereitis" a lot of causes of crashes
@@gaguy1967 I value your opinion. In commercial flying you cannot choose your day and the weather. In some occasions you have to do also flights that are not comfortable.
A big difference is however to do flights that intentionally will exceed the limits of the aircraft and the pilot. That is something I would never do.
As a side note, I appreciate comments under the clear name of the author. Thank you.
Happy Landings,
Capt.
Nice work sir. Happy landings.
Thank you Jeff.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Well done!!! Quite a bit of shear there..
Thank you.
Yes, this is why I choose flap 20 and a bit of extra speed. for safety.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Wow. Capable airplane and competent pilot, but that would be a stay home day for me! Thanks for the video!
You re very welcome Jim.
Not the greatest day to fly - but it was safe.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
I've enjoyed your videos for years and always learn something new. I know it's a lot of work editing the videos but based on viewer comments the videos are greatly appreciated. Please keep them coming.
Thank you very ,much for your kind words.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
You never fail to impress me with your knowledge of airspace, aircraft, weather, ATC etc. Is it difficult to fly in so many countries in respect to varying rules and regulations?
Thank you Brian.
It is sometimes chill aging to adjust to the different rules in different countries. Most of the stuff is standardized, especially when IFR flying.
I would be very cautious to fly VFR on an area that I do not know.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Great content as always sir!
Thank you very much Nick.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Nice! True professional. Wish you would be my CFI.
Thank you Diego.
I am still working on my CFI certificate.
Take a lot of efforts and time.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
well done and great safe flying
awesome stuff
Than you very much!
Safety is always no 1 - no matter what.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Please consider subscribing to my TH-cam Channel and hit the "notification bell". No cost for you and you get notified about any pre uploads. Your support is highly appreciated.
I admire your professionalism and calmness, I’m a PPL holder and I would still be at your departure airport drinking coffee and waiting for the weather to clear
so would I. nothing wrong with staying on the ground if you dont have to be up in the air.
Thank you.
Enjoy you PPL and any flying you feel comfortable with.
Consider starting your IFR training, or at least take a lesson with an instructor.
Great fun and by far not as difficult as you think hit is.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
I felt that take off with you, beautiful!!!
Thank you!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Quite a flight
Not very pleasant - but safe. That is the most important thing.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido

If I was the passenger, right before takeoff, I would have said, "That's OK, I'll just get out here. Please let me out . . . "
This needs to be respected. I have never - and I will never do - make fun of passengers that feel uncomfortable in a small aircraft.
Totally normal.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Amazing content, your videos are just brilliant. I'm enjoying each one of them. Keep it up!
Thank you very much for your kind words.
I have a significant back log on videos to edit. Hope to find the time soon.
Thank you for your patience.
Happy Landings,
Capt.. Guido
Your video quality is very good specifically resolution. Thank you 😊
You are very welcome!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Chuck Yeagers lost son.
I am just another, well trained pilot.
Not even close to the Yeagers and Hoovers of this world.
But thank you!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Why are you flying that junk box into known icing conditions?
Hello,
a) a C182 is not a junk box
b) there was no known icing in the forecast.
You are correct that one should not commence a flight into know icing in a non FIKI certified aircraft.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
I Iove flying in IMC conditions. To me that's what makes flying fun, and keep honing your skills. After 44 years of flying. Iam still learning, when I step into a plane, or watch videos such as this. Never stop learning!
Thank you!
That’s the good thing about aviation: we never stop learning.
I learn on every flight. Small things, big things.
Thanks for comment and Happy Landings ,
Capt. Guido
Fantastic flying skills... !!!
Thank you!
Important is to stay always within the limits of the aircraft, the pilot and the regulations.
That made it an uncomfortable flight, but a safe flight.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Thanks Guido, I find your videos to be the most understandable and educational on the net. Your thoughtfulness is really appreciated.
Thank you Jeffrey!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
That wind correction angle around 2:57 is just gnarly. Love the vids Guido, I learn a great deal from you and apply it to my own practice.
Thank you!
Aviation is a never ending learning process. I lear non EVERY flight too. Small things, big things.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Quite brilliant with no drama , nicely done overall.
Thank you!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Bravo, great flying there young man.
Thank you Stephen.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
You make it look so easy. Hitting the center line perfectly in those conditions. Amazing!
Thank you!
The most important for a landing is:
> stay on centerline
> touch down in the predetermined zone, TDZ touch down zone
> fly at correct speed
Passengers rate a landing more about the "smoothness". It is nothing as a nice add on.
Safety is no 1.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Very very nice video. A hug from Portugal
Thank you - muito obrigado, Saúl.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
I love how you ilustrate every control on the plane ..... The sound is amazing !!!!
Thank you!
Happy Landings,
Capt.
Hi Lawrence,
many thanks for you comment.
Whatever aircraft we fly: it is fun!
And you can do bad things in ANY aircraft.
Have fun in your 172. great aircraft.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
I’m not a pilot, but I do very exacting work. I appreciate the thoroughness, attention to detail, and calmness you show in these videos. When I fly again, I hope my pilot is as skilled as you!
Thank you Ron.
I watch a lot of GA videos.. a lot. This is very well done on every level. The captions, the inset photos to show a close up, and of course the piloting. Just excellent.
Thank you very much for your kind and. motivating words.
Happy Landings,
Capt, Guido
very nice handling of the situation sir !!
Thank you very much Charan.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
I received my UK PPL with the Army back in 1985 ,I was in the RN ,then I flew seldomly until I immigrated to Aus in 1990 and received an unrestricted PPL and certified Aerobatics in a 150A ,haven't flown since 92 and this vide has brought it all back what I am missing ,absolutely brilliant video and such a calm professional pilot ,well explained ,well done and thanks
Only my pleasure, Stuart!
I hope you have an opportunity to fly with someone again.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Once upon a time I obtained my PPL in booker (EGTB) on the PA28. Now I'm flying Airbus.
Brings back memories watching this.
Hi James,
another example on how small the aviation world is.

Excellent flying.
Thank you Mike.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
I would have no qualms about flying with this guy ever. Calm, collected and acute pilotage. The 182T is a Stunner!
Thank you!
Safety is first. This as. not a very pleasant flight, but it was a safe flight.
That is al that counts.
A pilot. - irrespective of experience- has to know the limitations.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Until the fan stops ....
Excellent video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Mike.
Happy Landings,
Captain. Guido
Great video shows what a light single is capable of, spoke to the guy at London loads of times he’s always really friendly
Thank you Matt.
ATC is you friend.
I had the opportunity to visit a TRACON (ATC) facility near New York. Quite an eye opener what these people to for us pilots.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Deine Flugvideos sind die lehrreichsten auf youtube. Du bist für mich ein tolles Vorbild für mein eigenes Fliegen.
Vielen Dank Andreas.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
The work you put into your videos is admirable along with your skills and discipline as a pilot! Bravo!
Thank you very much Fellipe.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido

You are an inspiration to me. I know many pilots in my country but I respect you as example to follow.
Thank you very much.
I am just another, well trained pilot.
Important is to lear from mistakes (own mistakes and other's mistakes) and never become complacent.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
What a perfect flight and its video. I think this is a textbook for those who dream of flying. Be safe forever, Sir. You took away my fear of flying in bad weather and gave me of hope. I will download this video and keep it on my phone. Thanks Sir.
Thank you!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
