I’m currently rewatching the show and love it all these years later. It has been like a warm hug during this crazy point in history. The great thing about late 90s/early 00s TV was that people still cared about each other and the kindness amongst tough times shows through.
Come on Aaron, the West Wing is probably the only show capable of running forever. Every few years, you have a very valid reason to completely change the entire cast to keep things fresh.
This is bringing me to tears. I know The West Wing, the show, is fiction and idealistic, but it is a representation of how beautiful and elegant The American political system could be, if politicians came with a real sense of duty toward the people and countrymen they serve, rather than their next election. I wish this play was on a more accessible platform than HBO.
We invented every alphabet. We are the "hand of god" in the world. Be idealistic and it will come to pass. We need to LOVE the WORLD. Feed Creation OR eat Creation is OUR CHOICE.
Richard Schiff is an amazing actor and (without giving too much away) I loved the morality issues he fought for towards the end of the series. Great writing and great acting!
I spent the last two months watching the series for the first time and all I can say is it was a balm. Aaron is a mad genius and the cast is a dream. The show had me nostalgic for a time when we knew not what lay ahead and when the word hope was alive and strong
God damn, Allison Janney is incredible. I mean the entire cast is fantastic, as is Aaron Sorkin, but CJ Cregg always had a special place in my heart! Such an incredible actress who exudes class and dignity. And although this is obviously not nearly as important as her other qualities, God damn has she aged incredibly well. I honestly think she actually looks better than she did in the West Wing, and that's no easy feat. I guess what I'm saying is Allison Janney is a global treasure.
I unfortunately know someone who is a West Wing fan and has never voted in his 37 years of being eligible. Not sure if he plans to change that this year, but he didn’t in 2016. 🤷♂️ Then again, he’s a very unusual person, so hopefully it’s not common.

Then of course, since it was such a success, they had to strech it on and on, and well, the Bonnie Character (Allison's) starts losing her original appeal, but hey, that's happened to sooo many shows, its not news any more.

@Lynda Vance Well, as I said, if there's only one income coming into the household, HBO is a luxury you cant afford. Thank god I just remembered there's old video place where you cant still rent DVD series, and oldies at that, like The Wire, Im going to go next week see if I get lucky with the The W.Wing, just a couple of subway stops away, I just checked. I live in the South of France, and its really nice, but very small compared to the US. I lived there for a while, and the first time I arrived (it was at Miami) the first thing I noticed coming down the stairway of the airplane how much "bigger" the sky was! What I wanted to convey was the view of the sky was much larger! WOW! and from there on, I just realized the sheer inmensity, since you can actually fit many European countries into some of your States and there's still remaining space.😂 I remember when I was 17 and I was travelling through Europe by train, this American guy was complaining it was unnerving that in Europe you took one step and you crossed a border. I didnt really understand why that would bother him so much until years later I visited the USA and realized the gargantuan difference between both realities! But I think that's what makes them unique, of course.

This show has gotten me through the last 4 years. It calms me and my thoughts and it reminds me that our country can be great again. Aaron Sorkin, Thank you.
I am rewatching the series now. I weep frequently. The show was great because Mr Sorkin and each of the actors cared as much as each of the characters. That show was tough and, like our real world West Wing when it's working, it needed excellence and had it 100%. Thanks for this. I'm gonna have to get HBO!
I remember President Bush falling off his bike at the World economic Forum in Edinburgh. His press Secretary had to explain why he had a band aid on his nose.

Karla Kropiwnicki what exactly do you think this video is? Our democracy is under existential threat from within from the current occupant of the White House and we have an opportunity to save it by voting and making sure everyone we know votes. These people obviously want us to do whatever we can to prevent our country from sliding completely into tyranny and that subtext could not be more obvious if they screamed it at us. Telling us to just shut up and enjoy the video is missing the entire point of the video.

So, I am going to start a free trial Oct 15. They also had The Coastal Elite by Paul Rudnick with Bette Midler, Sarah Paulson, etc. Meant to do "trial" then because of great clips. Missed because life complicated. Hate how many pay walls and splintered $$$ nowadays.
If they rebooted The West Wing with Sam running and then winning the presidency, with Josh as Chief of Staff and a new set of staffers...that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. 🙄
Too obvious and I don't see Josh moving to a new campaign as he'd have been Santos's COS for at least 4-8 years. Will Bailey would have been a more natural arc into running as he is a congressman by the end of the series and Sam if DCOS.
This show was truly the best well-written will acted and something that we probably really need more of today of this type of Series where you really are thinking about this is what's happening this is how it works. And the fact that all the actors just really work well together like they were friends off of the set. Just a really Terrific show very much missed.
Holy God how I loved this show. Wow. It's been a while since I watched it, but everything just came flooding back. Most of all the tears. Watching Martin and Richard just slip right back into their roles as Jed Bartlett and Toby brought the tears right back to my eyes. Neither one seems to have aged a day. It was like The West Wing never left. Holy God that clip was so good. I almost forgot how good they were together. Almost. And Aaron Sorkin's writing was always on point. Jeez. I'm still crying. I just miss this show so much. Especially with politics the way they are these days. Why couldn't Jed Bartlett be our president now? Allison Janney as Press Secretary C.J. Cregg? And the late amazingly great John Spencer as the best chief of staff *EVER,* Leo McGarry? The late great Kathryn Joosten as the best president's personal secretary ever, Dolores Landingham? (Although Lily Tomlin was wonderful too: "She appeared on the dramatic series The West Wing for four years (2002-2006) in the recurring role of presidential secretary Deborah Fiderer." From Wikipedia's entry on Lily.) God knows, we could use them all back right now. I absolutely adored "A Few Good Men." But "The West Wing" just broke my heart every single episode. One of the best shows ever. Easily in my top 5. That was the White House I wanted to see. Idealistic, maybe, but truly working for the people. Not just getting themselves reelected, as someone else noted. What. A. Show. Thanks for this, Steven. Truly wonderful. More please?
The West Wing was the best and is still the best drama "ever" put on TV. I've rewatch each seaon at least 8 times. I love the cast so much. And I WISH TO GOD AND BACK that we had a president like J. Bartlett. If we did, I'd walk through fire for him.

Thanks for your funny take on it. You are not the only one!
Love The West Wing ❣️❣️ I miss them soooo much!
Best show EVER!!!!! Cooommme back!! I’m crying 'cause I don’t get HBO Max...
@@sjmclean0 Better yet. CHARLIE wins the presidency. And he's married to Zoie of course! 😁
Charlie Young should be in Congress, too
I loved the show, but there are too many remakes and reboots. I think it's best to just let it go.
@@chrisml8105 You know, I think you're right. Given what politics looks like now, a re-boot would look sorely out of place.
This show was truly the best well-written will acted and something that we probably really need more of today of this type of Series where you really are thinking about this is what's happening this is how it works. And the fact that all the actors just really work well together like they were friends off of the set. Just a really Terrific show very much missed.
Also, the staging was absolutely beautiful 😍 ❤ ♥ 💖
I remember when television was this good.
In the subtitles they put "Donna Moss" instead of "Elizabeth Moss" :O
I love how Aaron Sorkin dressed up in a jacket and tie for this interview. So unnecessarily classy. 👍
Love West wing and am voting!!!!!!
Allison you look amazing!
I hope it airs here in the UK too. I love The West Wing. Would love it even more if it could be on Netflix or similar so I could rewatch it all.
(Although Lily Tomlin was wonderful too:
"She appeared on the dramatic series The West Wing for four years (2002-2006) in the recurring role of presidential secretary Deborah Fiderer."
From Wikipedia's entry on Lily.)
God knows, we could use them all back right now.
I absolutely adored "A Few Good Men."
But "The West Wing" just broke my heart every single episode.
West Wing....has a special place in my heart, now more than ever.
So excited for this. I don’t have HBO Max but will get it for one month just to see this.
The West Wing was the best and is still the best drama "ever" put on TV. I've rewatch each seaon at least 8 times. I love the cast so much. And I WISH TO GOD AND BACK that we had a president like J. Bartlett. If we did, I'd walk through fire for him.
This was refreshing.
I love Allisons necklace...Mrs. Clinton has one in silver...
Think it is merch supporting gotv/get out the vote org , all on the line, and this .org
Great to see those of the cast together. Good move Stephen.
I love that the cast seems to be as big of a fan of the show as I am!
Can't wait to see this❤❤❤
I haven’t been able to watch West Wing since this regime took power. It’s just too heartbreaking.
Let me tell you - I loveee this show. Still watch it on Netflix.
