I started playing recently after years of not seeing this (bought a multi the other day). I have memories of playing this when i was very young at my uncle's place. I think it was my very first shmup.

The Hammer-Laser thingie that shoots green rings of death while spinning two hammerballs around the ship, and the other one that fires hammerballs all around in the eight directions.
Holy shit this was awesome. I didn't even know other people cared about this game. This almost brought a tear to my eye. Oh, and which WING do I like best? Hammer. Then fire.
@SaviourV The problem with that version is that it is too techno, I wanted one that was more orchestral. Andertuxmen is the only eprson i asked who did an orchestral remix of that tune for me.
Hammer!!! bring the hammer down and slam it down to the ground! :Daside from that, there was the green secret weapon, i loved that. multi was fun, and wide was lame as if 1 shot hit, all the others were erased. Wide was casual, and jump could be easilly replaced with hammer's "shield". but i also remember the game having those Card Symbols that changed the main ship appearance (and they looked like a tooth, lol), but have no idea what their purpose was.
Man, this kind of genre of gaming needs to be remade and not those stupidly overwhelming bullet hell ones that newcomers wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.
@MajinZarak Hey, secret wings don't count! My favorite wings are the Dyna (I LOVE these!) and the hammer. It feels so good. I thought nobody ever heard of this game! And I was really wrong! By the way, the music is fucking fantastic. Sounds just as hopeful as the original did. I love it. I. LOVE. IT.
@hihosh1 Like I said, everyone's got a tight to their opinion. The reason why I liked that one was because it was the ONLY one that covered almost all the themes present in the game, including the theme when you lose your wings, which seems to be frequently absent from the few remixes I've found so far. Wish someone would show some love for that particular theme. Especially since one person managed to finish one whole stage with only the spinning cannonballs of the Hammer Wing.
@hihosh1 I dunno...I didn't really like the one on Newgrounds much. Seemed a bit rushed. And it didn't really mix everything together, but everyone's got a right to their opinion, right? :) There is another remix of B-Wings here on TH-cam, though. Search for "scars377 b wings" and you should find that mix. Do let me know what you think of that one.
@SpiralPegasus Well, if secret ones don't count, then I've to say my favorite is Side, yeah, you read it right, the gayish weapon that scatters shiny hearts all around the screen, I got my highest score from using it because it hits everything exept the green ships that come from exactly behind your plane. The rest can consider themselves dead, by heart-shaped bulbs xD

@emanueljoab It might be a bad ROM dump. Get the game from other website. It might be the emulator, too. Try Nestopia or FCEUltra, and be sure to check that the region detection (NTSC/PAL) is set as "automatic". If you still can't get it to work leave a comment in my channel. Enjoy!

If an HD remake is made not by Data East Corp. but by someone else, will you still like it? Like, he/they got everything perfect, excpet it has more graphical effects and stuff?

Playing this game right now and just discovered the special secret wing. Never knew it existed and I've been playing this game since 1991.

i choose hammer always, and in the stage 2 you can find a secret weapon,
