Thanks! Agency issued 147 gr Speer Gold dots for duty, 124 +P HST for off duty carry. Another great test. Stay safe and stay dangerous. God bless.. Sarge
Thanks Brian! Just ordered 5 boxes! I’m usually a +p 124 Gold Dot or HST guy but both of my EDC’s are a 4 3/4 inch Canik Elite Combat and a 5 inch PDP so velocity shouldn’t be an issue. And with the performance of these, I don’t mind the standard pressure! I like to try to get 400 ft/lb of energy from my 9mm and this seems close enough. Great deal too!
Nice!! I’ve never heard of 4140 Armory but well done!! More ammo companies is a great thing in my book. Especially if they load good consistent ammo with good components. And don’t fudge the numbers 😅. For a good price is awesome. Thanks for getting this out my friend 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Are anyone else's choices on ammo heavily influenced by Tools & Targets? 😂 dude you should have ammo companies lined up at the door. I'm an Underwood fan thanks to you.
Guess we'll be finding out if their present offering is the same bullet? I ordered 5 boxes right after I watched the video!! The shipping on my order was only $10!Thats a bargain in itself nowadays!! Will try to let y'all know if they are the same as soon as they are delivered???🤞🤞🤞
My order was just delivered, and I checked one of the boxes. Labeled exactly the same as the stuff tested, and it is sure enough a Gold Dot as best I can tell
Thank you so much for all the ammo testing you do! 100% my go to for ammo specs and you run all the relevant bullets on the market. Thanks again, happy late Thanksgiving and hope to keep seeing you put out the goods! Stay safe
The issue I have with smaller brands is that they could change the velocity in 3 months. They might not be able to get Gold Dot projectiles in 6 months. They might not start using a different powder. There's no guarantee of consistency.
Even the big companies make changes. Winchester Silvertips have had multiple iterations over the years. The big guys are always tweaking their ammo, but you are correct that they are more consistent because they aren’t at the mercy of specific materials being available.
I couldn't see the Gold dot in the center, so I was thinking its the X-Def bullet by Xtreme Bullets. It's basically a Gold Dot clone. Doubletap is loading some of them in their Bonded line.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and your family! Interesting test. Definitely will have to give that company a look. Thank you. My dad is from Texas, so that adds to it!
that's not too bad at all to be honest, decent penetration, decent expansion. If I ever can't get my round of choice, this will be worth considering... how long does it take to go through a case of HST? Asking for a friend, he might have a few...
I went to a local large gun shop.here in north carolina where I live today to check out there rifle and pistol powder . From 40..00 to 69.99 dollars a can.thats right 69.99 . I got plenty powder and a certain powder I wanted to test but not at 69.99. a pound of powder from Sweden. I did get a bow of 100 xtp 180 gr to load for my compact 44mag and my daughters 44special for self defense. I got plenty acme bullet company 240grain red coated swc . 34.99 for the 180gr xtp bullets. I had 240gr xtp I've been testing. I could load the acme 240gr 16 brinnel hardness bullets for self defense but far deeper penetration than I won't even in the 44special. when I run out of primers I can reload my primers as so far I'm at 100percent effectiveness at it.i enjoyed the video. Papa wishing you well 😊
Looks like some great ammo 👍🏻 how much does that stuff run for? & A theory i have why speer loads them a little slower is so they get a little more penetration 🤷🏻♂️ but then again they look a little different than gold dots to me after expanding..
Thx. Low to mid 60s? I think we barely made 19f or 20f. Had to put on the Carhartt. Speaking of which, it would be good if you could test ammo thru layers of Carhartt jackets and overalls. 😂
Thank you sir. I saw some other place had some .22lr deals too. I didn't get any ammo but I did buy some parts to put together another AR on that squirrel lower I bought.😆
Good test Tools. A lot of small outfits make questionable ammo but this stuff seemed to do the job especially for standard pressure ammo. Looked to be on the hotter side of standard but still.
For minimum recoil you’d want standard pressure 147. Id say either 147 grain Speer Gold Dot or federal HST. Both are the two best hollow points you can get for pistol calibers.
Happy holidays Tools, please never stop making these videos, like I said before you are a ammo testin prophet!. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thank you sir. Same to you!😎👊
He's the Ammo Baba!
Wow. Standard Pressure getting 1125 from a 3.1" 🎉🎉🎉 That is fantastic!
Happy Tday to you and your family, Tools. Stay warm 🔥

Appreciate that again, brother!😎👊

Ecstasy of Gold. Great to see a boutique loading something else than outdated XTPs and getting high praise in the test for it
"All good except for Austin"! 🤣Facts, and a great price for what you get. Thanks for the test!
Everybody from Austin probably unsubscribed.🤭
Yeah, but who honestly cares about Austin?
@@ToolsandTargets they weren't into freedom anyway
It's time we real Texans take back Austin!
All Texans know Austin is a land of SOCIALISM 😂😂😂
Just picked up a case of 556 made by them. It was at a fair price. So far they've all gone bang.
Nice 😎👊

The price is for sure a huge bonus.

Thinking about it, some of them companies might not want to be exposed 😂
Pretty sure Buffalo Bore tickles Tools more…
Some of em don't want me anywhere near their ammo.😂
Scott from "Kentucky Ballistics" made me a fan of Underwood Ammo

I figured you were out shopping.😆
Happy Thanksgiving Tools! Nice test!
Thank you sir. You too!😎👊
Looks like good ammo. It's hard to beat Gold dot bullet. I wouldn't have a problem carrying it, and the right weight
They are some good chunks of lead.
These are great results, thanks for another A+ presentation Brian
Thank you sir.😎👊
Thanks, these are excellent. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.
Appreciate that!😎👊
This is an excellent deal on their website. $22.50 for 50rd boxes!
😎👊
What was shipping like?
@@mikethomas4598 I second that question
@@mikethomas4598just checked, $10 for 5 boxes shipping, or $2 per box.
Congrats 0n 90k Buddy

Happy Thanksgiving for you T&T love your channel and i wish you a happy year ❤❤❤
Bring on the Jelly Man... these are very impressive that price is amazing
Yeah, I actually rechecked like 3 times to make sure that was a 50 round price, before I did the video.😂
Happy Thanksgiving hope you and your family had a great day yesterday. Very impressive 9mm124g. Stuff 🇺🇸👊
Thank you sir. Same to you!😎👊
That's how Gold Dots ought to be loaded. Hey Speer, are you watchin'?
Aint that the truth!
Great job, great video. Picture perfect results/expansion for the 9mm out of either barrel length. Can’t never go wrong with a gold dot.😬👍

Awesome performance and awesome test Tools

Seem to be pretty effective a 124 grain exceeding 1100fps from a 3 inch barrel is pretty good they performed well

The issue I have with smaller brands is that they could change the velocity in 3 months. They might not be able to get Gold Dot projectiles in 6 months. They might not start using a different powder. There's no guarantee of consistency.
Very true. I've seen the projectile change several times with some brands.
So the fact that you can get these for the same price as Winchester WB and or Remington UMC makes them a must buy!
Definitely a good deal.
As always, awesome, informative and entertaining video! Muchos Grassass!
Thank you sir 😎👊
Damn, dude, you never disappoint.
That boolit might be a Winchester PDX1...? The classic one from the G-17 you can add to your tie-tack collection! 😊
As a Journeyman Toolmaker, when I see 4140 I think of a type of Chrome-moly tool steel. I wonder how they derived at this for their name?
I was wondering about that myself. I figured it was something to do with their military history. Didn't think about the steel.
👍👍 good results, appreciate the test.
😎👊
The rounds you pulled from the gel kind of look like a cross between the Gold Dot and HST. Looks pretty good :-)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and your family! Interesting test. Definitely will have to give that company a look. Thank you. My dad is from Texas, so that adds to it!

Lone star proud. Great performance and another good video.
Now they are using something called a “Force Match Defense Hollow Point.” It might not be, but from the picture it resembles a Hornady hollow point.
Yeah, that's just what they're calling the load. No idea what the bullet is. The pic on their site is too unclear.

It's funny indeed, but to be fair all the Texas cities except San Antonio have gone the way of the doodoo these days
So many ammo companies that I have never heard of.

Well Vista outdoors finalized the sale of federal cci speer and all of it's ammunition away
Congratulations from Brazil
Thank you, my friend!😎👊
Gold dots get it done as long as you're not cheap with the powder
Having a Glock 19x, what is a good clean running, self defense ammo that minimizes recoil?
Underwood makes a bunch of good hot 124 9mm. HST, Punch, and several others are good ones if you're just looking for easy to find good stuff.
@ToolsandTargets Thank you.

I'm checking them out online. Have you tested their 75g hpbt? If not, can you?
Man I wish I was able to say low to mid 60's was going to be a chilly one 😂
That was the last of the good weather. Freezing now.😆
@ToolsandTargets I believe it. It's freezing up here in the midwest I know it can get pretty cold in your climate as well especially at night
Temps in the low to mid 60s, it's gonna be a chilly one.
Meanwhile in Montana 😂🤣😂🤣
I’m assuming out of a 5in barrel you would get 1200fps or just over? Just curious. I’ll have to check them out
Sounds about right.
Now we need to see what the 147 grain can do.
"Looks like a Gold Dot"
Think that might be those Berry's Hybrid Hollow Points, at first glance.
Those hybrids look a lot different.
No, now,,, glance some more 🤓
