As someone who has had one I’ll say this… is it fancy and screams look at me? Nope. Does it call out to onlookers I’m high end hardware? Nope. Does it knife like a mofo? You’re damn right it does. And I would trust my life with it.
Love this knife. Had one a couple years ago but gave it away to a bud who couldn’t afford a good blade. Props to you for knowing it’s backstory brother. I have another one on order. Stay well brother.
What a great performance by that knife and you did a good job showing its capabilities. I need to go back and catch up. Somehow my bell was turned off on videos. I got notified on shorts but nothing else. Think a company was messing with me. I hope somewhere I can find an email for you or a way to message you. Have something I want to ask. God bless you and yours. #22aday
Great job on the History Scab, simple but with great purpose, it's actually a really nice looking full tang beauty!!!!...handled your stuff as a good solid knife should
Simple and sweet! Just like this comment! Thanks for the review Mr.Scab! #22ADAY till zero! Cheers, Jerbs #22ADAY I'll never quit quitting brother #22ADAY 👍🏼🇺🇸🔥🔪🔥🇨🇦👍🏼
Great review man. This is a beast of a knife. Really love The looks of it and the way it works. And I get sad every time you say that I'm not scab. Lol. Thanks for your hard work brother.
I have Pallas. If I get Harsey folder and Difensa, than I'll have every Spartan blades I ever wanted. Just failed on getting Harsey folder trying yesterday and today
The Spartan Difensa is a knife I would love to carry. It is a clip point, do you see the broken backline? The blade is narrower as on my Drop Forged Survivalist, and it has a sabre grind, while the Survivalist haa a full flat grind, but this two knives share a lot of charakteristics. When you talked about the handle, I was reminded of the Survivalist. It would be great, If you somehow would be able to compare the two knives. #22aday Stay safe everybody, and stay blessed. Greetings from Germany!
Another great vid my friend! Love the way you test your knives. Do the things most that you would do in the back country. I know I'm late to the party commenting on this but just became interested in getting a spartan blade. As far as sharpness goes not really concerned about razorsharp,if it's that sharp the edge does not last long under hard use. Years ago a famous knife maker was confronted at his booth that his blades weren't razor sharp. Knife maker turned around went into his baggage him a razor. Said if you need to shave buy one of these it's cheaper and does a better job. OK enough rambling keep the vids coming and stay safe
The difensa is top five knives of all time for me. I love everything about it and I look at things the same way I can sharpen it up. However, being a review channel I do like to bring it up just to let people know and to be honest with you Spartan has done an amazing job with every blade I've gotten from them. Totally get where you're coming from and dude appreciate you so much Thank you for commenting it means a lot man it helps a ton
Hey Scab, I've watched this video all the way through 2 or 3 times and was wondering what your thoughts were on the Difensa versus the Chris Reeve Pacific? I have a hard time trying to figure out which to save up for and I've watched your videos on both.
Both designed by Bill Harsey. Both phenomenal knives. Having said that for me it's the Difensa! Totally a personal preference but man the Difensa is as close to perfect as I've seen.
I thank you for all the real world tasks you put your knives through. One it gives me an idea what the knife can do ie cutting tires and different types of hoses etc in a city environment. Two since you do it to yours any of the knifes we share in common I don’t have to do it to. So mine can stay pretty lol. Till or if I really need them.
I think you would really like the Lionsteel T5. It's got a combat dagger like a bit similar but it's some really cool features is a really good survival knife. Very rust resistant as well.
I watched a review on this knife and the Lions steel T5 and while they both look awesome I ended up going with the Lions steel T5 because the price. Handle comfort is probably the most important thing to me. Hopefully I didn’t make a mistake. I haven’t even got it yet. Thanks for the great reviews
I have the T5 as well it's not a mistake price is a huge thing. The deal is though at some point if you can get one of these get one of these. but in no way did you make a mistake!
Been wanting this for six years. Always out of stock or in S45VN. I saw one in Mesa, Arizona at Monkey's Edge. It's right up my alley in every thing I look for in a knife. I saw a $200 level Scout carry leather sheath for it on eBay today! NOICE!
It is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SPARTAN blade brother! I've actually had the pleasure of talking to Bill HARSEY on several occasions and that just reinforced my love of this knife!
Great review Scab! Your paper cutting is on point these days! Are you sharpening your blades now? Would be curious to know what you use if you do so! 🇺🇸
Ok.. its nice for stabbing (vampires and werewolves are fair game) but will it throw sparks from a ferro rod and how easy is it resharpen in the woods?
#22aday i was actually just lookin at spartan blades lol and this one has always been my favorite as well they do now make it in s45vn which is super tempting cuz ive never had a blade in that steel and i know spartan blades will do it right
@@choirboyzcutleryoutdoors Thank you for showing me what that knife can do! Got it ordered from Chicago Knife Works Scabb for 118 bucks!!! Great knife, great price NO WAY was I gonna pass that up bro... Thanks!!!
I haven't had any issues in all honesty their coatings have been some of the best. If there were prior issues I'm not sure it seems they have them worked out that's just based on what's in hand you know what I'm saying..
Which do you like better? Horkos or harsey defensa? Or spartan ronin shinto? I also have my eye out for crk pacifica? Love the videos of great knives. #Redleg.
All right so here's the deal here's just straight up truth. The Spartan Harsey difensa is my favorite. Also the Spartan Harsey folder is my favorite folder. And that's honestly because Bill and I have become friends and I love his designs. Aside from that he is one of my top three all-time favorite designers. Now the difensa also holds a special place to me because my grandfather served in Italy in WW2 so there's a whole lot there and I know that's a long answer to answer the question but that's kind of the deal
@@choirboyzcutleryoutdoors Thank you for the information. Ive been binge watching all your videos on knives and the testing is on point! Keep up the great work and look foward to the new and old videos!!! 👍
Great looking blade and great review . Handle looks comfortable . Keep up the good work on your videos brother
I am loving everything about this knife! Like you said, the beauty is in its simplicity
It is awesome!!

She's a beauty and you illustrated what she can do very well!
I rang the bell and whistled for it. Good looking knife.
Damn fine knife. 💯. I thought you kept looking at the camera to make sure we were paying attention. 🤣👍🏻👍🏻✌✌🔪🗡💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great video bro, as always. Love the look of this blade !
Much appreciated my brother!!
Woody down under.
Done well done fine in your presentation mate. Looks like a great knife. Will look into seeing if they have them in OZ.
Love this knife. Had one a couple years ago but gave it away to a bud who couldn’t afford a good blade. Props to you for knowing it’s backstory brother. I have another one on order. Stay well brother.
I would expect nothing less from you brother then to give something away like this! Is why I love you!!

If it carries the Harsey name, it's probably a pretty darn good knife!! Thanks for putting it to work Scab!!!
He actually commented on the video on Instagram. I just got off the phone with him I'm blown away man!

That's going to be sweet man! Great choice
Like the stabbaliciousnous of that blade!!!
I have the Spartan Pallas in S45VN and it's an amazing knife. Really hope to pick up a Harsey Folder this year.

Man I use a work Sharp for my fixed blades
Best brand! Which system?
Ok.. its nice for stabbing (vampires and werewolves are fair game) but will it throw sparks from a ferro rod and how easy is it resharpen in the woods?
Yes sir it'll throw Sparks and in my experience it's been relatively easy to sharpen for sure
#22aday Being a Harsey says it all killer knife. Great review enjoyed the testing and information. Thanks
sounds like a great knife, thanks Scab
Much more of a combat blade than the KA-BAR Utility
Agreed my brother!

Very cool appreciate that My friend
It favors the silent Hero.
Semper fi 🤎🤎🤎
funny thing is thats what i use my trusty gerber for cuten zip ties
i am no rocket scientist although i believe if you can stab and cut the side wall of a tire it would stab flesh or carve a butt
