    TH-camr AlaskanFrontier1 uses a CRK Pacific but made excellent functional modifications to his knife and sheath. I have a Pacific in plain edge and take it with me when hunting and hiking. The good thing about the Pacific is that you can easily sell it for the price you paid for it.

    What interesting to me is that how many people use this as a bushcraft knife yet CR don't make this for bushcrafters. This is a military/tactical equipment (which obviously does include some level of "bushcrafting" when the situation demands it). Built for one-on-one combat situation.

    Have the original the pacific was based off of. We had it made for our Group (1SFG, Fort Lewis). Very well made knife. FY, this is NOT a bushcraft knife!!!!! So your negatives mean very little. It is a combat knife.

      That’s awesome. This knife is my favorite knife I own because it’s pure badass just like your group. Did everyone in your team get one? What were the kind of things you guys used this knife for? Thanks for your service 🇺🇸

      @@sergiotheg1736 Sergio. We all bought one. Most are wall hangers/ safe queens. I bought 2. One for display, and one for use. I use it as we designed it, as a combat knife. Used it in Iraq and A-stan. No bushcraft or batoning. Thanks for the comment. FYI, 1SFG has in our RMF, the original SN# 0001. Signed by Reeves and Harsey.

    If you need to do some aggressive cuts on a stick to make a point and make it marshmallow proof, you could jam the blade tip in a log or a chopping block and drag the piece of wood over the edge. So you don't have to use force and pressure on the handle.

    Lanyard is right on for size when you stick your hand through, twist and grab the handle.

    I’ve been eyeing this fixed blade for a while now, but just not sure what I would use it for. My favorite camping fixed blade is the Esee Laser Strike. It’s a tough “little” SOB that is extremely comfortable to use.

      Mentioning ESEE knives on a Chris Reeve knife video, Is like watching a Lamborgini video and saying that the Ford Focus is your favorite car... PS you would use it for, what you use your overated Esee for...

    Awesome video. Do you plan on reviewing the Green beret also?

    I had the same issues with mine. I wound up grinding the top part of the handle down. I felt it gets in the way and didn’t provide any value. If CRK had just made the entire knife flat on top it would be WAY more enjoyable to use. But overall it’s still a great knife.

    I think the extra paracord is for survival use. Not sure exactly why but usually he has a purpose. Been wanting one of those.

      UPDATE: Still waiting on this knife, it’s gonna be another 8 months or so unfortunately… but it’s gonna be worth it. One of the most attractive combat knives.

  • @Drvinnieboombatts
    @Drvinnieboombatts 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This knife is made for killing, plain and simple, not for slicing food, or survival, this is when your in close quarters with a human or animal preferably a war-time situation

    • @achimgeist5185
      @achimgeist5185 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The purpose of this knife is not killing in the first place, it's a utility knife, a special combat knife for just one purpose is for example the Gerber Mark II.

      @@achimgeist5185 say what you want I’ve been in combat and know how combat knives look and this is not made for chopping onions of course you can but this is for piercing

    • @achimgeist5185
      @achimgeist5185 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Drvinnieboombatts Every knife with a defined tip can be used for stabbing, but is the main purpose stabbing a dagger or stiletto type knife is more effective and and this type knives has only one purpose and good at, killing and nothing more. The design of the Chris Reeve Pacific is clearly a tactical, a combat knife, but the design shows also the main purpose is not killing, it's a utility knife design.
