Looks like I got my Christmas present a few weeks late , but I’m still excited. I have seen Fabulous T-birds a few times and SRV only once . I want to Thank Jimmy for being so kind as to allow his collection of his younger brother’s guitars and memorabilia to be displayed in Austin city museum a while back on exclusive exhibit there . My wife & I just happened to be in Texas that year visiting our oldest daughter & Son in law and grandkids and just by happenstance decided to go to Austin for lunch and check out the museum. To say I was “ Blown away and in shock “ by all the stuff there would be a huge understatement. I have about 50 pictures or so from that day , one of my personal favorites is me hugging his #1 Strat ( well the glass case it was in anyways😆) that my wife took while swearing I was gonna set off some kind of alarm system & get us thrown out or arrested . 😏😉. Neither one occurred thankfully and as a guitar player myself it was like being a kid in a candy store made by a famous candy maker himself. He was Taken way too soon , and his Older brother was heartbroken as were his fans. To read the letters and comments on display by Jimmy that day concerning all the items being shown was heartbreaking and heartwarming both at the same time .😥. Thanks again for finding & posting this gem for us all . Happy 2023 to everyone. C-ya. 😎
Happy 2023 to you too Mr Miller. Thanks for your story, I would have loved to have seen that exhibition, but wrong place wrong time. Sad to think that guitar is locked away in a bank vault now and not being played.😎
@@afloydianslip8613 Actually Since Jimmy owns it ( I believe he still has it in his collection) along with his signature “ Hamilton , Butterscotch, Red Strat , and telecaster “ Jimbo “ guitars , He loans them out for displays like we Saw over in Austin . So they Technically are not being played , but at least they and all his memorabilia are still on tour , so to speak . Have you seen the Posted videos of Jimmy playing at the Vaughan Brothers memorial unveiling in Texas last year ? If not you Should look it up , Jimmy sings and just about brought tears to everyone in attendance. Definitely worth a look and maybe a Re-Post here on TH-cam. Thanks again for sharing your passion for SRV’s legacy and music with us all . C-ya , and By the way if you ever get a chance to meet Jimmy in person as I have , he really loves to talk about his younger Brother. He’s truly a very generous person and from what I gathered he misses him and the rest of the family immensely. Happy Saturday to ya !!😊👍
Wow, Santa came early, and brought me The Fab T-birds... Carlos... and SRV! I must have been a very good girl. Thanks, A Floydian Slip, for helping with the delivery! A Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas to all!
Loved to go to the T'Bird's shows when SRV was in town... never knew when SRV would show up for the 3rd set and tear it up. Great find! Thanks for posting!!!
@@maninthemiddle55 Antone's (when on Guadalupe), another time at Austin Aquafest (which was awesome cause I was about 20 feet from the stage), I could have sworn at least once on 6th St, but too much time has passed for me to remember as I may have had a little too much fun that night.

This is fabulous! Where was this recorded? The crowd sounds too large for this concert to have been performed at Antone’s or any club. Thank you for sharing! Made my day!
It was recorded at the 6th Annual Fabulous Thunderbirds Riverfest in Austin TX on May 30th 1988 by Westwood One Radio Networks and was broadcast as part of their 'Superstar Concert Series' on September 9th the same year.
