He is able to use any type of magecraft, due to his Left and Right Hands, but he cannot completely master them. Against a Caster like Medea, he does not stand a chance. He had also already used his strongest technique, Twin Arm - Big Crunch against Jeanne earlier, and that also caused him some brain damage. He also had a massive disadvantage, cause his right arm was cut off earlier. So he was fighting, exhausted, injured and weakened. It's a miracle by itself that he kept up with Sieg as long as he did.
Nothing to explain to me really, I personally think he should've won. He wasn't barely decent at swordsmanship either, he's been a skilled swordsman since he was a child. One arm or not, his loss was complete foolishness. I partially see what the author was going for with Sieg's character arc, but ultimately, it's still weak.
I said decent, in comparison to Sieg, who possesses Siegfried's swordsmanship skills. At that fight, Sieg was almost as strong as Siegfried is, and Shirou could not keep up with that. But, to be fair, Shirou did impale Sieg.

His hair color for blond to brunette is in his mythic lore he was looking for his wife he managed to find his son, so he decided to go to the keeper of the fairy mounds to go to the other world to look for his wife now the keeper has a daughter who fell in love with Fionn at first sight (he did not need a love spot to get fairies, witches, and princesses to drop their panties) however Fionn is super loyal so she got jealous, she disguised herself as a normal person and started crying at a certain magic lake, Fionn saw her asked her whats wrong, she said she lost her ring in the lake. Fionn being a nice guy decided to get her ring so he dived into the water however the lake ages ppl, when he got out of the water he became an old man, the Fianna found him later went to the keeper's fairy mound and threaten to destroy it if they didn;t restore Fionn's youth the keeper did then he disappeared. Fionn gave up looking for his first wife content with finding his son that and fairies are a-holes. His hair became gray and darkened into brown or black as he aged. The other reason was to make Fionn a straight up villain in Zero, FGO is his more heroic self the pursuit of Grainne and Diarmuid was literally the worst thing he did he was pretty much a stand up guy in myth
