The horse head is the greatest prank ever. John Marley hair jumped like Spongebob and Squidward when they saw the Hash Slinging Slasher. 😂🤣😂 And wow I did not know James Caan really jacked up Gianni Russo. Great video very insightful 👍👍
When Luca Brasi was talking to the godfather, you could see Marlon Brandon wanted to burst in laughter for real. Same when Michael told him his son was smarter because he could read the funniest in the newspaper 😂. I've watched part one and two like 4 times on my tablet. Every time I catch a new detail.
Still one of the greatest movies I have ever seen I would love if they put in ALL the deleted scenes and make it a 4 hour movie I would love that even more
When I was a boy, about three or four years after GFII came out, Copolla built a single movie edit from GF & GFII, and put all the scenes in chronological order. So the "new" opening is that first set of scenes from GFII where Vitos mother is gunned down. I got to watch this on CBC (Canada) commercial free starting at midnight some summer Saturday and running 4 and half hours. I think this is a Mandela moment for me however, since I can find no evidence that this ever happened.
The story I heard was that Brando found the cat outside set and he picked it up and brought it in and Coppela said role with it. And that Marlon actually kept the cat and took it home. Now this is from the miniseries THE OFFER so it could be BS too lol.
Best movie that was ever made. No doubt in our minds that it very accurately depicts the real world of the Italian mafia! Just amazing that they ever allowed it to be made as it portrays it perfectly.

#11 Richard Castellano, who portrayed Clemeza, was the nephew of NYC mob boss Paul Castellano whose assassation outside of Spark's Steak House in mid-town Manhattan was reputedadly engineered by John Gotti.
After his death, Castellano's widow Ardell Sheridan, who had played his character Peter Clemenza's wife in The Godfather,[4][5] claimed that he was the nephew of Gambino crime family boss Paul Castellano;[6] however Richard's own sister dismissed this claim as false: "we're not related to Paul".[7]
as more as I go through such videos relating to fun facts of godfather trilogy, i get to understand how all three of them had open endings for many storylines/characters, for example: 1.Ending of the 1st showed how kay was betrayed by mike himself about carlo's death, and mike willingly took over the helm after his pa's demise and also that of sonny's murder and significantly due to fredo's naivety. This left godfather movie to close off a gr8 plot without any further necessity future development of a sequal. 2. Again, in the baptism scene towards the climax of part 1, it showed how appollonia's death hardened mike as to kill every other family leader, becoming extremely ruthless and dangerous leaving no requirement again for a sequel 3.in the end of part 2, fredo's death was caused by his own betrayal towards the corleone family even after mike's warning, further moulding mike as a way different godfather than vito was, who would have simply tried to negotiate and pacify such tough moments but mike chose not to talk but to eliminate any threat(basically his older brother, fredo). This further verified his bloodthirsty nature and how it negatively(and also as it was not significantly shown but hidden in layers of plot development) affected vito's and mike's dream to make corleone family get in some legit business like mike becoming a senate, but mike's own attitude to protect the family led him down the dark path, making it way more difficult to turn the family legit, thus also keeping a sense of confusion whether mike manages to get in legit business or not since the significant traitor was within the family, who he whacked, leading to no need of sequel. 4.in the 3rd film, mary's death(instead of mike's), signified that how he failed in aspect of life while still trying to hold everything together, similarly vincent's rage bought no good to the family, leaving mike as a failing old man9in deleted scene), which was heavily contrasted to vito's death
I remember seeing it on the list of greatest movies of all-time and i never understood why until i watched it and i have to say the godfather truly is one of the greatest movies of all-time. And the second fact on the list makes me even a bigger fan of the godfather 😂😂😂💯💯💯 R.I.P JOHN MARLEY
What I really need is a better explanation as to why The Don would send his most loyal, trusted (but not brightest) tough guy to defect. I mean, He had to have known that sending Luca Brasi into the Lion’s den wouldn’t work.
The Don knew Luca could handle himself. He was a man with special skills before Liam Neeson coined the term. But Luca was not imaginative and this was not a good actor. Vito saw only the positives in his friend, not the negatives. Like US Grant only worrying about what he would do to his opponent, never worrying what his opponent might try. Did you ever think someone like Buster Douglas would be the first to defeat Mike Tyson? Past performance is not a predictor of the future but so many humans back on it.
I I wouldn't say I am fanatical about the GodFather, but I have seen it several times and the 2 Sequels. I think it is one of the Geat Movies of all times. I started reading the book years ago, back when I was a Kid sometime in the 2-0th CEntruy, but I never finished it or got that much into it. I have a friend who read the book a couple of years and he told me was his Favorite Book. I may try to read book the book one of these days. And Yes, I knew most of these FActs. With the Mafia Interference, it was a Miracle they made the Move. But I guess the first Godfather was defintely Pro=Mafia or made at least the Corleone Family the Good Guys- Very Honorable.. GodFather Part 2 is defintely not as much. Michael Corleone has his own brother Killed. IN the end n Godfather, Michael Corleone is basically in Hell at the end of the Movie.
@animalactions5111 maybe this video is trying to educate people who wonder why The Godfather is on several lists as one of the best Hollywood movies ever made.
I've watched The Godfather at least 4 times and read the book. I've also seen Godfather II & III more than once. I knew several of these facts but not all of them. And none of the facts were in the movie..... so you're incorrect.
I wonder if the horse that donated it's head was a real Italian Stallion and Silvester Stallone was not offered the part as they didn't want to confuse the real one with the nickname of the other?!
I'm calling BS on the fight scene being so physical that the actor broke two ribs and his elbow. If you really watch that scene, it is done quite poorly. It looks incredibly fake the entire time.
What's crazier, that dog food is made out of horses or an actor getting pranked with the real decapitated head of a giant animal.. that thing must have smelled awful. I wonder if that was real blood the sheets were soaked with
Interesting fact: Talia Shire who played the role of Connie Corleone in The Godfather (and Sylvester Stallone's on-screen wife in the Rocky movies) is director Francis Ford Coppola's sister.
We believe because this is all common knowledge for anyone familiar with the film. You suckered me in with the clickbait title. For that, I have to give a "Thumbs Down."
They do use the word "mafia" in the film so all these years, these "facts" are wrong on that one. You can tell who actually watched the movie and who just say things they heard
The first movie creates suspension of disbelief for the young viewer who hasn't been marinated in the cliches. The second movie is forced, self-referential, pretty to look at most of the time, and apart from a few good scenes, is dull and morbid.
The horse head is the greatest prank ever. John Marley hair jumped like Spongebob and Squidward when they saw the Hash Slinging Slasher. 😂🤣😂 And wow I did not know James Caan really jacked up Gianni Russo. Great video very insightful 👍👍
Definitely in my list of top 10 movies. I'll watch it again and again. I didn't know every fact, so thank you!

Brando decided to pick up the cat and pet it
Surprising that guy with a real bloody horse head is kind of over the top but his reaction was legendary. I guess now we know why in hindsight!
He reacted like that because he was told it would not be a real horses head. But it WAS
The words Mafia and Cosa Nostra are used isin2 when Michael is on trial and denied being a member of either
For the record…it’s been 5 decades!

Also the Brady Bunch TV series was being filmed in the same studio building just feet away from some of the Godfather scenes

These are well-known. What I’d really like to know is how Louie’s waitstaff managed to get McCluskey’s veal out so fast.
It was probably partly cooked already and just needed a few minutes in the pan that's how restaurants work 😅
I’m guessing actor John Marley had some choice words for Coppola after meeting the horse
