Shank is something I’ve rarely done .. but if they start i know what to do !! Having issues with early release that’s driving me demented, if only someone on TH-cam has a drill 😉. Regards from Kildare Ireland
Hello from Normandy, France 😉. I can hit shanks sometimes for one out of three likely mistakes or defects, one being the due consequence of one of the two others. First things first, I can happen to stand too close to the ball, a too much common error... Then I can hit the ball with the hosel or with an open face because I want to hit harder than necessary. The wrong move usually also shows that my hips or/and pelvis keep being lazy, i.e. when I do not rotate properly or in sync at impact. Generally speaking IMHO the more you get tired the more you are likely to hit shanked shots especially by the last holes of a round. Now that I am 68 the issue gets increasing! Keep on the good work.
Hey thanks so much for the comment. Only ever been to Paris for Disney with the kids but I do love France. You’re exactly right standing a little close can cause some issues with this shot but also as you mention as you start to maybe get tired the body stops moving the same and that can cause the sweet spot to move away. These two drills would be good because the movement required to bring the sweet spot closer to you will help you rotate better 👍
Just found your channel and subscribed, i really love you clear delivery of instruction. Can i ask a question, is presenting the club slightly closed by a couple of degrees also a cause, as you in effect at presenting less face to the ball and if you are a tad heel side this is made worse?
Hey Greg thanks so much. Glad you’re enjoying the channel 👌 yes 100% whilst it wouldn’t be the main cause it certainly wouldn’t be helping. If you are using the stick drill just make sure it’s pointed at your target and the leading edge of the club is at a right angle to the stick. That should help you square it up. It’ll look a little funny but trust it and miss the stick ⛳️
Great drills!! Watching in Mobile, Alabama. Go Jags!! Roll Tide!!!
Awesome I love it 🔥🔥
