I have a Canon 6D that I can connect to via Bluetooth with my mobile, so I’m able to be included in the photos via a remote. If yours doesn’t have Bluetooth, you can purchase a remote for your camera. What I love about using a remote is keeping your camera stable on a tripod and not bump/accidentally moving it when taking a photo manually when trying to achieve a slow release photo. You just have to adjust the settings in your camera manually to accommodate the conditions at that point in time ie: Higher ISO and f-stop for dark nights (no moon) and the reverse for full moon bright nights. Our pleasure and agree with you about the NP system, what's most annoying is people not cancelling when they aren't able or decide not to go.
Great video guys and a beautiful place I just love the bush for camping merry Christmas and a happy new year 👍🍺🍷🤙
@@stephendimech2802 Ditto, I think I’m a bush/river girl but then when I dive into a wave I become a beach girl. In saying that, we love to avoid the crowds and the bush & country give us that.
Thanks for your support.
Happy travels.
Cheers Marg
Really enjoy were you Steve take us out, thanks
Happy to share and appreciate you letting us know.
Kind regards

Love your videos Marg. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both. What a wonderful location all that amazing wildlife. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure. xoxo
@@juliehurley9795 thanks Julie, it’s so lovely to receive positive feedback. We will have another video for you to watch next Friday at 5pm.

Hey keep up the great work, We (Liippy and i) love to get away and camp with our trusty Coromal (Cory) 18ft off road van. Love the video's, u guys excite us to get out more often and enjoy this great Country of ours.
That's awesome Cougar(?) appreciate that you and Lippy relate to us. I'm thrilled to hear that our videos may encourage you to find your inner Gibbo and get out there. Life's too short, we need to embrace the beauty of the outdoors whenever we can.
Cheers Marg
OMG I’m so glad you stopped in Uralla!! That’s my favourite shed shop as well… 🥰 the pies are the best!!
We absolutely loved the town Jodi and I'm regretful for not buying more from Little Birdy, I especially loved the iron work garden flowers but Steve was being practical about the size of them at the beginning of our camping adventure (haha). I did that in Uki a long time ago, and bought a huge garden frame with a flower and we had to store it for our whole trip. My Uki flower frame looked out of place at our campsite but now looks amazing in our garden and brings back memories every time I look at it.
We will definitely return to the area, we loved it and especially the Platypus encounter.
I have several more videos to edit, so hope to have a new one each Friday for the next few weeks.
Cheers to you.

@@gibbosroadtripadventures hahaha sounds like my purchases when we go camping! ☺️
Yes, you should go back to the Uralla/ Walcha area, especially in the spring or Autumn. After some rain all those waterfalls are amazing!!
Can’t wait to see more of your adventures this year.
Travel safe! Xx
@@jodifinnegan8660 Thank you Jodi, we’ve actually stayed in the pub at Walcha, another lovely town. We do hope to return to Little Birdy next time we are up that way.
Keep smiling!
Cheers

Loved this! Especially the platypus!
Am hoping you ended up between Dorrigo and Bellingen... There's a cute little free camp there...
Hi there, thank you! We'll have to check it out next time. We have actually stayed in that area in the past, at a Hipcamp called Rivermead Farm - we have a video on it where we also sighted a platypus in the river next to our camp. Ref: HIPCAMP Rivermead Farm LWE June 2021
Cheers Marg
Love watching your videos. Keep doing you stay safe n keep making videos. You seem to be a lovely family. Take care
Thank you Sandra, appreciate your kind feedback. I'm happy to say that there will be a few videos we will be uploading to TH-cam this month of our recent travels.

Looks awesome! We’d be the same, travel a lot more if only we’d win Tatts! Thanks guys
Thanks Lisa, fingers crossed we all have some luck to allow us to do what we are constantly dreaming of but in the meantime take what we can when we can. Lower Wattle Flat was a lovely little gem of a campsite, especially with a local platypus or two.
Cheers Marg
Another great video love watching what the two of you are up to.we are looking to do some of the trips you do thanks
That's fantastic, truly appreciate your feedback, and we wish you much fun as you venture out and enjoy this amazing state & country.
Btw - Another video on our free camping challenge to air next Friday at 5pm.
Happy & Safe Travels!
Cheers Marg & Steve
Great video mate
@@onthefencefilm thank you!
Really enjoyed this one. Thank you 😊
Thank you Diana, appreciate your feedback. It was a little more with the camera on us this time which we don't often do but I guess if people are regularly watching us they are getting to know us anyway.
Thank you for tuning in and leaving a comment.

Love ya work team 👍👍
Awesome, thank you! 🙏🏻
Lovely video today guys. You hit the nail on the head regarding working so as to retire!! We hope you have had a peaceful start to 2025.
Your voice and footage on your new camera appeared crystal clear.,
May I ask what App or program you use for editing? I used Microsoft Clipchamp which was easy to learn…as I was editing!! 😊
I uploaded my FIRST video last
night!!! I’m excited and very nervous.

Hi Vicky, thank you for your message. I use iMovie as I have a Mac and it’s a free program and simple to use but limited with say graphics that other TH-camrs use.
I’ll have a look for your TH-cam channel - could you share a link here via contacting us in messenger on Instagram?
Appreciate your feedback.
Happy travels.
Cheers

The platypus was amazingly non-shy! Was that a kingfisher dive bombing it? Lovely place far from the madding crowd. The coast is so incredibly crowded, good find and you're almost in my backyard.
Hi MJ, How lovely to have this area in your backyard, we loved it and embraced having a private campsite by a river. I'm not sure on the type of bird as I was eagerly trying to capture our busy little platypus, I believe there were possibly two, as later on one seemed much smaller. Such a rare encounter and in all our travels we've probably only experienced that twice before. Pure joy!
I hope you get down to Lower Wattle Flat to experience the encounter yourself.
Cheers Marg
@@gibbosroadtripadventures I'm on Coffs Coast and definitely will! I lived in Armidale for a period of time, not too far from that gorge actually and always intended to get to Wattle Flat for a camp and never did... That was 30 odd years ago! Never say never...
@@mj2745 Haha yes, never say never! I think Coffs and Port are the ideal place to live on the NSW Coast, as you have so many amazing campgrounds to explore. One of our other experiences with a Platypus was inland from Coffs at a Hipcamp called Rivermead. Such a beautiful area.
Cheers Marg
😂 You were in the New England/ Dorrigo Plateau areas. I've lived in most of the areas, and a word of caution. Closed shoes are wise. Saw a visitor at Ebor Falls wearing thongs and warned him but he was bitten by several large ants. He was in agony. Brown snakes do hang around the water, and the whole area is infested with Funnel Web spiders. No drama but being aware is always a benefit.
@@elizabethscott7660 thank you, yes I wasn’t prepared. Later during our trip I ended up putting on my gum boots. We are back home now and live in the bush and only yesterday we had our resident diamond python visit. Appreciate your feedback, thank you.
Cheers Marg 😊
Not gold!! Thats pyrite.
Who's the fool??? We are! 🤣Thank you for clarifying. We did actually think it was fools gold, so it's good to know what the real name of it is.
Cheers Marg
There probably is gold there if you want to do a bit of fossicking but I didn't find any😂 but that was more years than I care to remember ago.
Oh and your nobodies fool your the best 👌
