Thanks for the great demo! I see that you're playing seated without a strap, which is the way I play most often. I'm wondering whether you find it balances well that way without having to hold it in place, and also if it feels comfortable resting on the thigh like that. What's your impression?
Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I own three headless basses (Zeus, Osiris and Thanos) and have no problems with balance on any of them. I think, because of body size, the Vader may be a little neck heavy.
Thanks for the kind words. Here’s the scoop…..might want to sit down. Lol. The whole premise of these videos is to spotlight Kiesel (and previously Carvin) instruments because so many people that aren’t rock players are sleeping on how good these instruments really are. Any playthrough I do is the selected bass, a Tsunami Cables instrument cable, a Roland GoMixer, an iPad (playing the track) and an iPhone (recording the video)…….THATS ALL. No outboard processing whatsoever. Personally, I think people don’t take enough time to learn their instruments ‘real’ sound and rely too much on signal chains made up of multiple pieces that just confuse the situation…especially once the FOH engineer gets ahold of it.
Thank you. I own a Vanquish as well. The singlecut body on this Zeus is a bit more organic sounding…a little woddier so to speak. Both are incredible instruments.
I've never seen anyone do a review on one of these basses...I'm considering buying one so I'd like to ask: What do you think about the pickups? Were there any hangups for you with this?
Hey Connor. Thanks for reaching out. Kiesel has pickups that suit just about every style. You just have to know what you’re after...J Bass/Humbucker/MM style/PJ...they have them all.
Hey Ben! That bass sounds absolutely incredible! Do you have the single coils or humbuckers in it? I am about to pull the trigger on a Zeus and the only problem I'm having is what pickups to put in it! Thanks!
Thank you. There’s a recipe for this sound: ash/maple/singles w/‘70’s spacing in bridge pickups. Glad you like it. Congrats on getting a Zeus….you’re gonna love it.
On the 6’s it’s pretty tight…like 17 ott. I wish it could be at least 18, maybe even a smidge wider but I have been playing the Kiesel/Carvin basses exclusively for about 12 years so I’m pretty used to it.
I would say this one only because it’s a 6 string. That way I have the most range and since this one has single coil pickups in the ‘70’s position the J sound is also smacking’!!!
Great line my friend...nice bass too!
Wow, the fretboard is stunning, great playing as well Ben
Thanks Matthew. Much appreciated. ✊🏽
I love you cousin!! I will see you in Oregon after this craziness!!!

@@maxhighstein My pleasure brotha. Blessings.

Thanks Jim. Blessings.
Curious about what gear you used in the signal chain to proceed the tone? Got such juicy tone in it!

The bass sounds great. I have a Vanquish which I assume is the same in tone.

Nice job. That lick starting at 1:18 is really cool.
Wow. Thank you.
