Couldn't agree more. I'm a huge metal head and this is the one exception in my playlist. I always think why is this in my (and then it just SLAPS). It just makes me appreciate bass even more. No wonder there are no dislikes after a year. haha
By the way, I am a huge Kiesel fan, and I found your video because I was looking for videos where people were playing Thanos basses. I'll check out more of your videos.
Looking at buying a Kiesel Thanos 5 and searched TH-cam for videos - this is by far the best one I’ve seen for this particular model. Great tone and playing :)
Please. You are an extremely talented bassist. I would LOVE a cover of the ALF theme song. That original bassline is way too good for the series and deserves a cover of your caliber.
@@benjonesonbass thanks Ben. Just got over the Rona.... 21 days, all the symptoms, wifey had it too, but 5 days less time and not as severe. God blessed us...
Great job! I really enjoyed your playing style -- so relaxed, and super accurate, funky, and in the pocket like it's your job. You make it look easy, but that just shows what a good player you are, because it's not easy for most of us. Thanks for sharing your playing with us!
Wow!!! Thank you for such kind words Steve. It actually is my job….and I LOVE my job! Thank you (in advance) for checking out my videos and stay tuned….some interesting things are coming! ✊🏽
@@benjonesonbass I'm trying to decide between the Kiesel headless 5 string and the Ibanez headless 5. I really like the Kiesel, because I've had several Carvin basses over the years. But many reviews of the Ibanez on youtube are good also.
Hi Ben - I just discovered your TH-cam channel today searching for Kiesel Bass guitars. First off, huge fan of your bass playing and very impressed with the tones you are getting on this track. dig the maple neck too! Rock on Ben.
Damn! At last, a demo of this bass without 10 levels of distortion and processing. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've noticed a difference in the specs of this bass. It seems some are made with bass/treble boost/cut and a passive tone control (which is what I would want), and others with three band EQ and sweepable mid control (which I don't want). Which is your bass? Love that color and neck combo. Very classy.
First, thank you for checking the video out and for your kind words. As for my setup, I have the standard vol, bal, tone and stacked bass/trebble setup. Replacing the tone with mid sweep is an option.
Hey Jay, I feel you on the horn...it’s not a shape that’s for everyone. I was even a bit skeptical at first but two things changed my mind: First, I don’t have to look at it when I’m playing (Lol)! Second, as I saw more and more pictures/video with me playing it, the shape grew on me (at least enough that I didn’t really pay attention to it). That tone tho....🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Again, thank you. What I have found true of ALL instruments that are constructed with thought and care is that you can have a solid B string no matter what the scale length. This bass is no exception. Feels great, sounds great and, as you can hear, tracks great. All of these playthroughs that I have done are a bass straight into a Roland GoMixer Pro so what you are hearing is the sound of the unprocessed basses (which is the goal of my playthroughs).
One more thing.... how does the neck feel? Is it really wide like most 5 strings? I’m seriously thinking about buying one... do you recommend it? You play great by the way....
Thank you so much for such a wonderful Groove, my friend! PS: Greetings to you from Ukraine (specifically from Kyiv, where I come from since 1989) PS: Do you want to share with you the real Carpathian drive, the Gutsul group in Ukraine has been known since the 70s! Just listen! You like it! (гурт під назвою - " Гуцули ")
Everyone plays metal on their headless Kiesel...me included. You, sir, make that bass funk. Awesome tone! It's all in the fingers.
Yes, it does seem to be a thing with Kiesel=metal...lol. Thank you for the kind words. Much appreciated.
