    This was such a pleasant surprise to see someone communicate in ASL. Plus the information was succinct, helpful, and engaging. I look forward to your other videos and will be going through your library.

    Very helpful video and i love this channel. Usually when I change my son's diaper I would remove any poop and soak the diaper and insert into bucket filled with vinger and water before putting them in the washer. This usually helps me with any stains and smells.

    I'm new on the cloth diaper thing and I wanted to see if I was doing it right. I'm basically doing it just like you. I'm washing out the sticky 💩 and THEN I wash in the washer after getting rid of all those bigger clumps. I mean it's worth it once you get over the "gross factor". I also enjoyed you doing ASL. I'm not hard of hearing or deaf but my mom taught me lots of sign language and Spanish as a kid so this video just soothed my soul a bit as a mom. I am sorta embarrassed to admit that🤣.

    That was extremely helpful!! Thank you 🙏🏻 Been trying to figure out if I want to do cloth or disposable. You’re making me feel a lot more comfortable doing cloth.

    Such a great channel I wish there were more channels but also in BSL as unfortunately so different from English sign. Love the channel. cloth nappies all the way and great idea about disposing of poo when you do the washing and into a bag. have you considered cloth wipes? these are super easy and will save having to throw away.

    Wow, I really love your video format. So many new moms have told me to use only hypoallergenic detergent, but I've noticed that stuff leaves it stinky. Have you noticed any rashes with the Tide? My parents used Tide and I prefer it for my own laundry.
    In response to your last question, I usually use a dry rack or clothes line, wash every evening, and hypoallergenic powder. I read the powder doesn't mess with the absorbent properties of the liners. Who knows!! I'll sometimes give a spritz of essential oil. Thanks again for your video

      So glad you enjoyed. I bought most of my diapers through second hand people. I have bought a few recently at Buy Buy baby because they were on clearance. I think second hand it is the best cause you can save SO MUCH money.

    My daughter has a split entry. She hangs all her Apple Cheeks cloth diapers over the railing to dry unless she has a good drying day and can
    hang them out on the line.she has two boys, 4 & 2. The third is expected in July.

    • @TheStews
      @TheStews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yay for a third baby! I have never tried Apple Cheeks. I really need to get an outside drying line.

    We use pocket diapers as well. We pre clean poop diapers with a toilet sprayer. Then do a cold wash with tide free and gentle and then another wash with hot water hang dry the outsides and sometime the inserts if I’m in a rush I put the inserts in the dryer

    • @TheStews
      @TheStews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried using a toilet sprayer but honestly hated it. Maybe I was doing it wrong lol. Yeah, best to only do inserts in dryer... i'm just bad lol.

      @TheStews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had any issues with smells. I'm sure you could just run a clean cycle like it says here.... www.thekitchn.com/natural-washing-machine-cleaner-vinegar-22924103

    *Question:* Are cloth diapers really much more cost effective for one child when you consider the cost of the cost for washing them? The cost would be electricity for washer and dryer, water, where in tear of appliances, detergent cost.

    • @kellie5138
      @kellie5138 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you get a portable washer, you'll barely see a influx of any electric. Maybe a few $ more in water. You can buy them pre used, sanitize first of course. On amazon they sell 4 packs with wet bag and inserts included for $15- $20. Also ebay has them even cheaper.

    • @kellie5138
      @kellie5138 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Idk about a regular washer. I use a portable or I will hand wash. I dry in my dryer.

      Here in Au nappies are cheap but their impact on the environment is terrible. I think when cloth dipers are used with baby potty training then it would be really effective method

    Why tide? Have you used anything more natural?!

    • @Corinabs
      @Corinabs ปีที่แล้ว

      Tide free and gentle had a safer rating than other "green" detergents you can find an ingredient break down for literal any product online

  • @user-on5bu7xp3u
    @user-on5bu7xp3u ปีที่แล้ว

    Think it's more hygiene to wash the poo off with a hose on jet setting for the initial wash off then add to the machine rather than putting poo in the sink

  • @jesusmrosario-claudio4104
    @jesusmrosario-claudio4104 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We need other methods... faster methods... more clean methods. The smell in the washing machine and the sinks can sometimes be too much. Also the time consumption that this takes is extremely long.

    • @TheStews
      @TheStews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think there are faster methods to clean that I know of. If you are not able to cloth diaper, you could look into biodegradable diapers. That would be the next best thing in my opinion.

      Iv know people to cut up old dressing gowns and using those so it doesn’t cost you anything.
      Looks like you already have a good system that works. Xx
