@@Captain_Brian I just watched Luke's video and he talked about how dirty the pots get leaving them down for an over extended time. Amazing how quickly the traps can be soiled.
Alabama Shrimper here! Thanks for the plug! I wish you weren't across the country, I'd give you the heads for free. I was the one last week asking you about the smallest egg bearing crab you've ever seen. I sent you the video I took via Instagram.
Dumb Question - Why boil the pots? (My family and I fish and crab for fun, Indian River Bay DE and the ocean on good days.) Does the hot water help with the catch? Thanks for the great content!
Lol...... that's a good question. Have you looked at map of salt water bodies of water in your area? On the west coast blue crab is the cheapest. Dungeness crab and king crab will cost yeah but for 26$ a year you can go get 15 Dungeness a day wich apear to be much bigger and the best tasting crab you've ever had. As far as I know crabs don't like Minnesota salt water.. too little salt. 😂
I'm watching you and CJ on YT from 100 yards from the MD /PA line wishing I was on the bay . I am only an hour away if either one of you need any help let me know I will jump on 95 and head down lol
Why do you bait before cooking the pots? Wouldn’t that start cooking the bait and washing the oils away? Just wondering because I’m just a recreational crabber using necks necks on a string.
cool to see this angle and you culling them talking about different types of crabs! Chris , Jake and Mickey look like they got it under control... hire a culler and you can sit home!
What's up brother from another mother, your looking good out there, you got a dream crew my friend. This is a well seasoned crew hard at work. I'm going to be coming up that way soon to get some of them mammoth soft crabs. Your crew is so fluent it makes me almost miss those days , I'm growing huge bucks nowadays and getting ready to start picking corn ..
Why does he break the fish and why don't ya put the fish in the pot at the same time ya are setting them in the water? Just asking I'm no fishermen or SEAmen.
He's breaking or bending those fish so they'll fit inside the bait section of the trap. If he didn't do that they wouldn't fit inside that little bait section.
New nickname for C.J.; "Dark, Dirty, Rusty"😂
Him just a Lil Guy.
Lol JK.
Keep Grinding.
Thanks for your hard work
Get to work glad yall are get em we have picked up almost double in nc but prices suck this year. 30 flats of bait goin 3.50 gas is killing us
What & why are y’all dipping the freshly baited pots in?
Happy Birthday CJ, now get to Work! Boy I know it’s gotta be Hot around the trap Boiler!!!🔥
Not being a cranberry, I always wonder what does the trap boiler do for the trap? Is it a preventive measure of some kind?
@@BraddahBruceboiler kills off any growth that may have attached

Why do the pots get thrown in the hot water after they get baited?
Prevent barnacles and algae from growing on a trap
From what I've seen it's to kill like algae or anything that sticks to it
Just the method they use. It really doesn’t matter but the best way would be to bait afterwards
I like the camera angles in this video. Well done.
Happy Birthday! Ya know, you should have a CD of that engine noise in the merch.
This was a good camera format to watch well done!!
here in norfolk,va crabbing is booming havent seen #1 in the riivers in long time my husband says

Happy Birthday CJ! Why do you put the traps in the tank of water after he re-baits the trap?

Nice looking pots I wonder why the shaker pots never caught on( traps with 4 funnels in the divider) they are the best pots I ever set
I got a few shaker style pots yellow all hex wire they will catch in nc but catch a whiter crab more 3s than 1s
Great crew, that’s a well oiled machine. Love your videos, keep up the good work. Tell Luke to stop whining!
Have the bait boxes ever fallen off the boat? I'd be so nervous a wave would known them off the boat lip.
