    I love that all these are plant based. Not only is it really nutritious but also cost effective AND generally they last longer than a lot of animal based products so you won't need to run to the store as much.

      Yes! A thing I love about not eating meat is my TVP sitting out in the pantry until I need it, in all shapes and sizes, not taking up fridge space and not going bad as quickly as meat. In short: I'm still able to eat Bolognese sauce or Chili sin carne weeks after having been to the store. Win!

      It is also a really great way to make a vegan twice baked russet. I add a touch of apple cider vinegar & some nutritional yeast while the starchy part of the potato & tofu processed and top it with roasted brussel sprouts, scallions, & tempeh bacon and sometimes a little violife or daiya cheddar that I melt on in the toaster oven or under the broiler.

It's really good that the recipes are like this because it comes from Abbey Sharp who is a dietitian, so these are really trustable becuase they were created on good hands.

    Just wanna recommend a TH-camr what I eat in a day: Ali spagnola(?) of fitness outrageous has 2 videos. One is “same breakfast” where she goes over the breakfast she eats every single day, the other is about how she fasts for 20 hours a day. Basically she fasts all day and then always eats the same thing, I’d love to see your comments on this :)

      melissa soutar How unhealthy, sounds completely sickening too.

    • @melissasoutar
      @melissasoutar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lisa Mendez it does sound really unhealthy when summarized, but Ali is also really into CrossFit/fitness and backs her fasting and same breakfast with what sounds to be scientific and nutrition information. I don’t plan on ever attempting it because it’s pretty extreme, but I am curious on what Abbey would have to say about it in terms of what she likes/dislikes about the diet.

    • @lisamendez4309
      @lisamendez4309 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      melissa soutar Stop worshipping at the altar of fake “science” and use your own common sense for a change. It’s unnatural and unhealthy. Any restrictive diet is just masking an eating disorder. We’re supposed to eat a wide variety of foods throughout the day to feed our bodies all the trace elements and minerals found in those foods. Supplements are fake. Eat all the real foods in a balanced way and your body will be healthy and strong. As it was intended to be. What is the attraction toward the extreme anyway? An unbalanced diet is the product of an unbalanced mind.

    • @melissasoutar
      @melissasoutar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Lisa Mendez obviously what I was trying to say didn’t come across. I’m interested in having someone breakdown the claims to list what’s valid, what isn’t, what she’s doing right (in terms on her same breakfast), and what may be wrong/dangerous (extreme fasting). I personally don’t follow any diet and do not “worship at the alter of fake science”. I suggest not jumping to conclusions in the comments, and watching my tone, otherwise you’ll just cause people to become defensive. If you’re trying to point out something to someone it’s best to keep it factual, and avoid negative language or words that make things personal. As said you misunderstood what I was looking for, so I may have misunderstood your words, but please know that your message sounds fairly aggressive.

    Love this style video! I would LOVE to see some more plant based recipes lower in carbs. Recently found out I’m insulin resistant so having to change my vegan diet to lower carbs, definitely struggling to think of new recipes! Definitely trying the cabbage roll bowl one 💚

    I love that you eat the little bits of sweet potato left behind! It makes me twitchy watching cooking videos where they do things like dump the spoon in the sink without licking it haha

    Most of these ingredients are so hard to come by in Japan... Dates used to be my favourite treat, but I can't find them anywhere in Japan (especially now since international stuff is not really easy to get) 😭
    Would've loved to try out the Date snack...
    Also I love your baby tummy! It's so adorable

      @@AbbeysKitchen I think I was able to get almost all the ingedrients for the cabbage recipe and would like to try it. Are there any other options for the fake meat or meat sunstitute I can use? I like to eat as few meat as possible and with staying home I'm doing all my cooking on my own, but there is no such thing as fake meat in the stores of the rural Japan area where I live. Do you have any other ideas for me or should I just make it without the meat? Is what I normally do most of the time anyways 😅
