    I own a 2018 GLE550e PHEV, and I took it to the trail every weekend.

    Nice reviews of some fun vehicles! Especially this Mercedes AMG GLE 63, clearly more of a high end highway cruiser than a backroads explorer truck-type vehicle. I'd still take one...I'll look forward to more reviews.

    Cool video. It does have Down Hill assist.

      I'm pretty sure it's available on the non-AMG versions, but I'm not sure for the AMGs.

    Nice car !! I wonder how many GLE 63 owners take their cars off-road ...

      @EngineAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Won't be many I'm sure!

    Great review with POV and outside shots, but why not in 2K?

      Thanks! I wonder if TH-cam hasn't finished processing the 2k version yet. I didn't upload this one until Thursday and maybe that wasn't enough time for them to fully process it.

    Oh! The sticker shock...but we all know, no owner of one of those would dare go off-roading! 😏

      Haha, probably not, but there are some crazies out there!

    I know its been a year since this video was shot, but does anyone know for sure if the AMG 63 has downhill assist and Diff locks? Also, whats its maximum wading depth? Annoyingly, Mercedes website doesn't mention anything about AMG models offroading capabilities!

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't remember the one I tested having either of those features, but I could be wrong. Sorry, I'm not much help here.

      I think the G class is the only AMG with locking diffs

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're probably right, I know they do offer a locker or an ELSD that they claim can lock by applying lots of pressure to the clutches in some off road packages and performance track packages (for the sedans and coupes), but when I tested this one you couldn't get the AMG with the off road packages.

    Mercedes has ALWAYS had some NASTY hard suspension... to think it's fully extended and even highest stiffness on an offroad path must be spleen-jarring!

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's definitely quite stiff. I prefer the non-AMG versions because the suspension is a bit softer.

    I have a 2021 GLE AMG 63s and although these are performance & luxury SUV’s they are very capable off-road. No locking differentials all electronic systems which obviously work seamlessly. I previously had a 2018 Range Rover 5.0 with center & rear electronic differentials as well as a 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser. The RR was a lemon and was returned to Land Rover North America, hence the purchase of the Toyota. The Mercedes in wet/snow conditions is equally as competent. Off road the RR is superior to the TLC due to locking differentials (rear) TLC only central. Too bad RR are so unreliable
