In this video I have this BMW series 2 F45 series 2 and I will be changing the Battery in it, this particular task as in other BMW requires that the new battery gets registered to the car.
Software is required in order to carry out this procedure.

You don't have to disassemble the wiper blades. The better way is to gain access from the front and then pull the battery out while still in the front. To do this, the air filter housing must come out, as well as the plastic parts that sit in front of the battery. That's why the rear mounting nut of the battery is angled, so you can unscrew it from the front. Thats the way we do it here.

Very useful video. I replaced my battery today and registered the new one (BMW F45 220D).

You don't need to remove the wipers or the upper trim. You can get away with removing the air filter cover, filter and filter holder. Easy removal and it allow the battery to be slid forward and up from its enclosure.

BTW: the radio is unaffected by disconnecting the battery on my vehicle. Works fine before and after.

There are better TH-cam videos than this one. I watched another one and managed to replace battery without removing wipers and the windscreen facias. Find another video guys and good luck 🤞🏼

Useful video. Do you remember what is size (Height Length ...) of the battery that fits into F45? Different web pages gives me different sizes.

can you remove the battery, charge it at home, then install it back without doing the software part ?
technically yes but it may lead to various check control messages and other electronic issues. if possible avoid at all cost. according to the technical specs you're supposed to charge the battery only by hooking to the + und - points in the engine bay so that the intelligent battery monitor has a chance to detect the external charge. if needed jump start the car (use the same + and - points) and drive it to a location where you can plug in your battery charger.
So technically yes, the software part is used if your fitting a new battery. But you may need software to clear fault codes that are generated when disconnecting the battery.
What software did you use?
Remove the wiper blades?! Sod this, I was going to do this myself but that is a faff!
It is a fairly long process, they could have just made a separate cover for the battery but no it had to be this complicated.

You simply remove the airbox, not al that stuff....

Yep just remove top of airbox very easy to do
@@DaringBeefcake since you already have _the_ software it's always worth while reading through the repair process as shown in the software. it'll tell you exactly what to remove first if needed and shows detailed step by step guides including warnings and recommendations.
