EDIT: as some point the audio/visuals become a couple seconds desynced, not sure how that happened but will check with OBS. Sorry about that, thankfully still works if you are listening, and visually well you will hear spoilers for placements a couple seconds in advance.
Another one suggested on my discord, so speaking of which:

Ideas for possible future tier lists:
Advisor tier list
Policy tier list
Idea group tier list (basic but still works)
National ideas tier list (this would be a big one)
Subcontinent/region tier list
Estate privilege tier list
Government reform tier list (very big)
You could also split the government reform list into the different the tiers, like-
tier 1 government reform tier list
Tier 2 government reform tier list
Etc.
Tier 1 reforms on their own are already... in the way too many. So many countries have unique culture based ones. I mean Tribal Governments for example have around 20 tier 1's, and that's just the tribal bois.
Tech tier list would be good too, ranking based on how much taking that tech impact on the game and allows you to snowball. And it could also divide it in 3 different videos, or just one
@@LemonCake101 could do the generics everyone gets.
@@LemonCake101 What about tier list for type of government? Tribal, theocratic, republic, monarchy, native, horde, and revolutionary.
Its time for the best custom nation ideas
please no
@@LemonCake101 Just S-tier custom ideas will be fine.
@@onodera3964 not really a complete tier list then is it :(
@@LemonCake101 still better than every province tier list, right?
@@LemonCake101 you can divide them all in military admin and diplo ideas for 3 separate tierlists
I remember being so confused with the drill master trait, not in what it does, but why the icon isn’t the discipline icon like the infantry combat ability trait, it being a reworked trait makes more sense.
Is it me or is the audio and the video desynchronized? It seems like it, but I'm not sure
Is it? It should not be, if so, that's not good.
Oh my lord it is... but around a couple seconds. I will check how my editing software managed that. Thank God most people just listen to these!
Privateering is good for the power projection if nothing else. Assuming you're not too powerful to have rivals and not too busy to slap them about every 5 years.
on the mention of the 15% siege trait, i think as a whole siege ability is just like, comparatively very easy to stack when compared to a lot of other modifiers. even just playing single player fairly casually i often end up with a lot of it. having a siege specialist general that also happens to have good siege pips can result in *comically* fast sieges. you can effectively blitzkrieg down an enemy nation. and honestly, 15% is quite a lot. a lot of military traits, both for leaders and rulers aren’t super high in terms of the actual number. siege specialist on leaders and strict on rulers though? they’re basically entire military national idea slots on their own.
also, thanks for explaining moral damage. i hadn’t touched the game for like 3 years until late last year. last patch i played that modifier was a lot less common and I’ve been wondering how good it is.
I would say galley combat ability is generally better than heavy ship combat ability, as most of the time when naval battles really matter is early game, and early game you will have more galleys than heavies.
I think goal oriented is actually an S tier trait, movement speed actually has practical value, similar to how siege ability is useful for sieging provinces before you get besieged, movement speed helps you get back after a siege to defend your forts. Also, if you play in a mountainous area, movement speed is key to taking decisive battles, if you scorch earth on strategic forts, you can almost always make your enemy fight at a disadvantage.
I guess what I’m about to ask isn’t a tier list, but it could be seen as a “modifier stacking” thing, but I wonder, what combination of nation forming, missions, religion, events and modifiers would give one the most amount of special units…? (Sorry, I get hyper fixated on tiny Eu4 mechanics, and think about them all the time, this time it’s special units.)
Mhm, well best way would be grab people with special units as subjects, let them build those special units and then annex them to get... all of them.
@@LemonCake101 custom nation go brrr
@@LemonCake101
I mean, yeah, but what I meant was being able to create them, for example I already mentioned the Jurchen Shogun being able recruit Banners and Samurai, but also the Polish-Ruthenian Tsardom can get Cossacks, Winged Hussars and Streltsy.
I don't write the paradox code I just critique it is a good summary of your channel ^^
True!
Final boss: Tier list of tier lists.
Primary reason I privateer: Power Projection. So many times after embargo’s, a scornful insult on a rival, I’ll just be teetering on the 50 PP line. Rival a naval power, build like 20 light ships, privateer. Usually this will keep me above 50 PP so I can go do a few more wars before attacking a rival to max out power projection
congrats on 15k btw
Thanks!
The only time I have problems with blocading is trying to blockade Polish coastal forts as Russia, when I just gained a port in the Baltic Sea and I need quite some time to get all the sailors for galleys.
Morale damage stacking is super fun. Did a theocracy Prussia run and it gets nutty was something like morale damage as if I had 11 morale when everyone else has 6
They need to bring in a free lancer: +1 leader without upkeep
That would be quite cool actually!
13:39 idk about that dichotomy. As any eastern tech I run 4 cav per stack just because of cossacks.
I run 4 cav as pretty much everyone in fairness.
I mean protecting trade can be useful in mps, if you for some reason cant fully conquer a tradenode, and privateering can be fun to steal money from other players.
If you aren't strong enough to conquer a node and start using trade ships, strong guys will get an incentive to punish you.
Both are a great way to get people to declare war on you and lose your land: protecting trade especially. If you do it to an extent that matters, get ready for the player to fight back instead of the classic AI 'oh well I guess I will just let the player take 80% of my economy'.
@@LemonCake101i mean, as france you can force England to invest more ships into trade, or get more trade from the Caribbean or ivory coast to spain or the english channel
@@MangoInfinity1 not really, given how insane current patch England is at printing trade power among other things you tend to have 0 chance in English Channel anyway and usually have to make a play for Genoa/Sevilla. Or you box with England and push to Channel and split money.
Is there a tier ranking for policies?
all province tier list next?
Question: If you have an army with the Discipline trait (I forgot the name gah) get reinforced by an army without the trait and the discipline trait leader stays as the general in charge does both armies get the buff?
Only the troops being led by the general get the buff
@@LemonCake101thx

Well now we need a video how to stack movement speed
I always did think Naval Cannoneer looked higher res
Ever thought of making a more casual tier list, like a flag ranking of nations by region?
Full nation rankings are going to be a touch too long, and these are 'complete' tier lists after all.
"Everything in EU4 Tierlist" 24 hour video when?
Lemon Cake Eu4 Tierlist-Tierlist when?
Anything: Exists
Lemon: "It's a bit of a weird one"
True!
we NEED Countries Mission tree tierlist. The criteria being
- permanent modifiers !!!!!
- Temporary modifiers which are bonkers
i think france mission tree or
There are a couple issues with this, mainly that there are quite a few mission trees now. I mean in the sense that it will go beyond the 24 hour limit of a video. And people already complain about 1 hour tier lists being too long.
@@LemonCake101 maybe you can go for popular nations?? :D maybe top 30 popular nations :D
@@Suhaschintala that’s so arbitrary, I don’t have access to play numbers so ‘most popular’ is going to be complete guesswork :(
hmm its true. but i think audience wont mind a bit of bias in this. you can just collect all the nations which have unique mission trees maybe 🤔
@@Suhaschintala again unique mission trees alone is… insane. Check the mission tree folder for Eu4 in your local files, theres a stupid amount of them now.
Flagship modifications Tier list?
But who doesn't love privetering just for the meme
👀
tbf, i privateer for the PP and when there's a wicked rich node outside of my trade steering. I've had 2% of the trade power of a node in pirates hand me 15 ducats a month before, and gain me 10 pp.
Privateering*.
So what you explained at about 12:00 about AI not accounting for morale damage modifiers.... is this why so many american + african native countries just randomly decide to stack wipe themselves in fights they themselves pick?
I've seen it happen more than once that the AI send their tech 4 20k stacks straight in to my tech 8 european 40k stacks.....
Normal morale they should calculate, this is referring to the 'new' morale damage modifier.
Will you be trying to get a spot in the next season of Para Bellum?
I got asked for the current one if I was available, and indeed I was, but clearly they had too many signups as is.
You are absolutely sleeping on movement speed. It's the most impactful modifier in singleplayer other than seige stuff IMO. The AI armies just cannot handle the player being faster than them, and it ruins any tactics the AI has at all. It's really underrated, especially in a WC game having to chase AI armies/rebels around
Bongo
I think you are not taking into account convienience factor.
Speed and atrition are just this.
It is mightly convienient to finaly catch an army that plays hide and seek with you or similary with attrition casualties , you shouldnt run with such a big stacks but it is very nice to be able to and just scare ai with your mighty super stack
Mission rewards tier list when?
Paradox made too many missions :(
Then only Permanent modifiers, sorted by continent
Yeah that would be insane and probably even more work than the province tier list. I made a personal list with most European formable permanent modifier missions and it was so much work. Having to put an official tier list together would be miserable
@@bekey4551 again that would take an insane amount of time, I mean even tags like Britany have end of the game modifiers. Pretty much all of them do.
@@LemonCake101 and from my comment you can see the significancy of a /s, that i forgot, can make.
How about technology tier list?
Maybe? It's a bit of a weird one to do 'visually'
Yo my suggestion
enjoy
Mission reward tier list when?
Honestly probably never
We need policies tier list
Seems like idea tier list with extra steps not going to lie
I was interested and curious but an hour is kinda lmao
Welcome to the tier list format: you can skip to the end if you just want to see the list, but the hour is spent explaining my placements.
