We ate at the buffet on OC and were charged for every soda we had even though we had the full drink package and it was supposed to be included. As usual, msc guest services were rude and acted like i was stupid ( I was very nice about it) and said I was mistaken, I must have ordered from a bar that did not take the drink package (we didnt)
They were clearing the plates and tossing the food, yes. But we were specifically told NOT to touch any of those plates or any items on the main buffet line by the one worker, though she allowed us to have the one plate of beans.

If you have the easy drink package is there anything included on the island? What things are charged on their Island that is not included is free food available on the island
We've had good experiences on other ships within the MSC line, but it's so strange that Meraviglia just seems to not have their act together, and this particular ship has been getting complaints since before the pandemic, from what we've read around the internet machine. Yow!!
I was on this ship (the 3 day cruise). I agree with everything you said. There was just something lacking. There was nothing per se wrong with my experience, but I just wasn't feeling it. I do hope they find their niche. The ship is very nice.
“Reducing food waste is one of our key priorities” but if you’re a minute or two late we will throw that food away right in front of you!! I get the buffet is only open till a certain time and I’m all for rules. But to tell people no and throw the food away when people are asking to eat it seems to fly in the face of the idea of reducing waste.
FYI That far side of the island isn't just for yacht club only Only. Where it says ocean house that is the yacht club area. You can cross that bridge and enjoy that side of the island. The yacht club area is actually a small beach in the corner
We learned that when we went back to Ocean Cay via Yacht Club on the second leg of this cruise. When we first visited Ocean Cay in 2020, it appeared that the entire island on that side, including Bimini Beach and the other side of the lagoon, the whole thing was designated for Yacht Club only. Glad to see that's changed and more folks have access to that awesome beach area!! :D

We love ocean cay. We usually snorkel closer to ship along that rock wall. More clear, more fishy. It is always cloudy near lighthouse. Also try snorkeling along rock wall in lagoon. We had same issue of eating late lunch an noticed we were late. Closes at 2pm

This might be an odd question but I noticed that sometimes the ship is docked in a different direction. We booked our room on the even number side so I'm wondering if we'll be on the island side?
Interesting! It seems like every time we've docked at Ocean Cay, the bow of the ship has been pointed at the lighthouse, giving the starboard side the view of the island. I don't recall seeing it the other way, but I'd have to go back and check our photos, hah...
@@parodeejay Not particularly from your channel but I've seen it on other channels. The only logical thing I can think of is they might have come from a different direction? Anyways, it's not a big deal in the larger scheme of things if our balcony is not facing the island. Love your channel!

Same long buffet lines as when I was at OceanCay the week before you. Same terrible service. MSC is a no-go for me for here on out.

Seems to me that Seaside has better reviews than meraviglia. I like port Canaveral so booked one in April.

It's super unique and definitely worth seeing! On our sailings, there were two separate shows, one at 9pm and one at 10pm.
