There was a slight error in the display for Arjuna's numbers at the end. His numbers are correct but the comp for him is actually double Oberon instead of double Koyanskaya. Tametomo is an awesome looking unit. Unfortunately he goes into the packed archetype of buster AoE archer. That means he has the rough job of trying to stand out in the face of units like Gilgamesh and Ishtar. How do you guys feel about Tametomo and what would you like to see in the way of an upgrade for him? Thanks for watching and good luck if you plan to roll! I'll be getting the Hakkenden event guide out next! 👍
I went into this event mostly going after Bakin, but after playing the story, I kinda like Tametomo a lot too! He certainly has plenty of competition, but I think he's still valuable as a general pool Servant that covers a lot of uses. His kit seems especially neat for challenge quests, with its combination of massive defense piercing and longer-term value (with that 5 turn battery and stacking NP damage). I think he really just needs an NP upgrade to properly compete with the other Archers.
I think his biggest issue is that unless he is hitting lawful, his only damage steroid that you can get in a conventional farming setup is buster up. Even on water battlefield, its just more buster up. And Koyanskaya only offers more buster up. And Oberon offers some NP damage plus the NP multiplier and more buster up. And cranking adds more np damage and more buster up. The only attack up boost he gets is from the neo-plug suit. That means he is not really capitalizing on multiplicative buff stacking. Tesla, Ishtar, and Gil all have some form of attack up to go with the buster up and NP damage up. Arjuna doesn't have it, but he provides his own Np damage up and has an NP rank up. I think if we want to make Tametomo more viable. They should add either regular attack up, or some other damage up that isn't just more buster up.
There is no good reason to design a kit around future upgrades, at least not unless they are global upgrades that are intended for the next few months. The whole point of upgrades is to catch older characters up to the current meta, but all new characters should already be designed to be competitive in the meta. I guess since they don't want to nerf, they might want to launch them a little weak to make sure there aren't any serious exploits, but once that settles in they should put in a quick catch-up within the first six months or so, not years later.
Been using him for a few months, and yeah he hits like a noodle. He REALLyY needs someone tô buff his attack tô mix different buffs and crack him up and no one on buster looping have attack buff.
the only thing that will help him in comparison to ishtar abd gil is that he's a perm unit so people will get a fair bit of copies if they roll a lot so hes gonna be an acceptable unit in that regard and makes him far more obtainable but outside of that, hes mostly a placeholder for ishtar and gilgamesh for people who are wanting them and are only using him atm until they get their hands on them, but thats just my personal perspective as hes a perfectly usable unit and will do wonders for people who do get him and use the koyan system but fan favorites will take over for people once their perspective banners drop
Not being limited can be helpful and yet sometimes it can be harmful. Sure people *can* get him while rolling on other banners. But it's an insane long-shot. We're heading into FGO's 7th anniversary and there are a ton of 5*s I've never seen as spooks. Someone could play the whole lifespan of this game and never see another copy of him. Plus servants like this are heavily excluded (for fair enough reason) from GSSRs so stumbling on him is a longshot.
He's got a cool design. But honestly he struggles in that he just doesn't stand out in terms of actual performance. But hey, he's got enough good elements that if people love the mecha style then they can make him work. Not going to hold up against servants like Ishtar. But can do enough to be worth having.
Why did you not talk about his max potential? Tametomo’s 3rd skill has his np damage ramp up. It’s 20% per turn that lasts for 5 turns, 1 use only. His turn 5 is insane compared to other archers. I know that isn’t how most people play FGO but Tametomo is more like Kingprotea. They want to be in long fights so comparing only their 3 turn potential is disingenuous. NP damage up is hard to come by and having a potential +100% in his kit makes Tametomo have the greatest synergy with Oberon out of all servants
You know what's cooler than having to wait 5 turns to drop one NP with 100% NP damage up? Gilgamesh dropping 3-5 upgraded NPs with 50% np damage up in the same time frame. His turn 5 is insane because you aren't doing much with him for the preceding 4 turns. The juice is just not worth the squeeze in that scenario.
The issue with his ramping NP damage up is that you can't use his NP for 4 turns then. Also if you want the max potential for his damage then you also can't use his buster cards for a few turns or rather you'll need to be even more careful about using them, given it's a 3 times, 3 turns as well. In that potential scenario with cranking you're looking at 254k (normal) and 382k (lawful niche). Which tbh I'd rather NP multiple times with him than delaying him like that. Though if you're restricting him that much already then the CE having charge wouldn't matter either as you're basically just looking at trying for that 1 turn burst. The problem is that if you want to compare that to his peers then you'd also give them access to the same CE as they could also just go for the 1 turn burst, which wouldn't make his position all that much better imo. The comparison overall was to show how he'll do in a normal environment basically as that's how most people would use him. Trust me, I love his design; He looks awesome, but they definitely could give him some love by making his stuff less restrictive or giving him an NP upgrade as that's what every single other AOE Buster Archer has going for them so far.

Uhhhh babyyyy, Gil and the Godess of all of us mentioned❤❤
Damn, how stupidly fast time flies. I remember he was the newest character on JP when i got into fgo, and now he's coming to NA
i feel u brah
i started when beni enma was brand new now its been 4 years

Need to start adding Summer Musashi to those AoE archer comparisons ;P Also, Tawara Tota with KScope outdamages him absent of niche.

Lorewise, well.....
It's a bit hard to justify giving a charisma skill to a robot.
Rip another B tier servant 😢
@@billybob-dp7ui Maybe so, but you can absolutely justify giving him Monstrous Strength, or some mechanical variant
His design is so damn peak, but I need to save for Arc and Summer.

That mecha aesthetic is awesome but summer ughhhh
Fgo mecha era is coming
Love your breakdowns
I think one tweak I'd make is swap the evade with ignore defense to keep the armor piercing niche going

I have Arjuna, but I want Tametomo in my Chaldea. More options is a good thing to have. He is perma, right? I forget at times
Yh he’s permanent bro
@Yvng505 Aight, thanks.

His whole kit is a mess
