  • Hey! Inspired by Shoetube Legend ‪@TimGrose‬ I decided to purge my Running Shoe Accumulation, and get rid of everything unnecessary.
I couldn't quite part ways with everything but we got to take a quick look at a lot of forgotten, bad, or just dead Shoes.
Hope you find this amusing, and don't take it too seriously.

Agree with you on the Hoka Carbon X. The foam was so firm. I did a couple of 10km races in them but the calf muscles suffered. I wanted them to work but I'm not sure that Hoka knew what they were doing in their haste to compete in the plated shoe race.

@@chrismogridge1 Yeah, nobody else had the Pebax Foam yet at the time. I think it took a while for everyone to learn that it' s more the combination of the soft and bouncy foam with the Carbon Plate that works and not just the plate alone.

I need to do another clearout me thinks! Still not got any shelf space. Looks like some mud on heels on some of those older shoes so at least you did more than 2 strides in them :)

I think I'm pretty good with getting rid of shoes that I really don' t like. But sometimes the ones that are just too worn down to use seem to stick around much longer than I need...
Yeah, definitely got good use out of those Vaporflys for example and even that Carbon X has seen plenty of 'Goal Pace'...

Hey, good video. Very interesting that a lot of shoes come by very fast. I love my Wildhorse 8's. I use them for easy trailrun training and trailwalks/hikes. It is super comfortable. I recently started using the Asics Superblast again. I loved it straight away again. I already had it (2 years ago) but it ended up in the closet again after an injury. I was looking for a long tempo running shoe and this one come out a few reviews as a very good shoe, and I already had it so... glad I gave it a 2nd chance. Be carefull with switching a lot between shoes for injuries ;-). Two other options I was looking into was the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 and the Saucony Endorphin Speed 4. Maybe these are interesting for future video's ;-)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Bit of a lighthearted one:)
Really disappointed in the Ultraglide durability. Got it discounted for only around 60€ but anything more than that would have felt like a bit of a waste of money!
Yeah, I remember you liking the Wildhorse 8. Honestly it' s one of my most comfortable running shoes I own. Plus I expect that thing to last absolutely forever, it' s built like a tank!
I actually tried the Hyperion Max 2 on the Treadmill in the shop. Quite liked it. Since I just got the Mach X2, it's not on my immediate to-buy list as another plated 'Super Trainer'.
Speed 4? Probably not. I have the Speed 3 and the 4 seems a pretty minor update so not really worth it.
