As a furry and a guitarist (although don't get to play it as often nowadays), I have been thinking that for guitar it might be possible to use sufficiently durable claws on the picking paw to play effectively fingerstyle. In fact, using a pick was always unnatural and awkward for me, so since very early on i picked with my nails and flesh. I have naturally strong fingernails, although they do sand off slowly. For the fretting hand, the bigger beans might make muting adjacent strings to the ones being fretted easier. I still have my fingers not touching adjacent strings enough sometimes, resulting in unintended open rings.
@@lev7509 I always ended up with dents in my hands and blood on my fingers from playing guitar, so I switched to paws. Instead of my bulky paws, I got smaller ones that allow me to fret one string at a time. I also got claws made from guitar picks so I could still use a pick when I play. It takes some real skill to play with your fingers, I've been doing guitar for almost 6 years now and still can't play with my fingers

If one doesn't go _too_ far early on, they should gradually develop calluses. I do develop them on my fretting hand. On my picking hand though, as i said, i play with fingernails. I usually keep them deliberately long enough on my picking hand for that. That said, you clearly sound much more experienced than I am. When i say i use my finger nails, i really just mean the index fingernail for the most part, backed with the thumb. But I'm still surprised you need paws to play without injuring yourself
i love how the focus of the video was on the left hand but the right hand is SO much more difficult here. since they cannot hold the bow correctly due to a large grip, the tone quality and articulation lacked. and i cant imagine the paw gives them a free, firm wrist. imagine sautille on that lol

woa… that’s seriously impressive! the amount of skill and practice required to adapt to the less than ideal conditions of a fursuit is mind boggling, especially with the gloves i’ve been playing viola for almost a decade, but could never even come close to achieving what you have (though i wonder if the larger hand spacing might make it easier to play) after watching you crush the pag variations, i’d love to hear more classical rep from you! (brahms violin concerto, wieniawski scherzo tarantelle, tchaikovsky, beethoven kreutzer, anything honestly haha) ngl, classical music (or rather, the people passionate about it) is getting rarer to find nowadays because of misconceptions around the elitist nature of it and the newer gravitation towards pop music, but to me, it gives me a sense of self when playing by myself, participating in youth orchestra, or learning composition ramblings aside, i think what you do within both communities is really cool, and i hope you continue to do so! :)

As a bassist, I just stand up/use a stool and play, I don’t have a chin rest, therefore making it easier to play in fursuit. Us and the cellists know what’s up

P.S I pole dance in my dragon costume and learning how the difficulty reaches near impossible levels is both terrifying and inspiring cause I end up learning (wait am I the only one in my field trying this???) Hope you're able to improve either the accessories or fursuit OR BOTH to such a degree that you can play the violin masterfully!

i don't know if this'll help but there are paws with holes for fingers. those might help you if you'd like a full fursuit look! i think you should go on a talent show hehe
My new goal: play piano with medieval armor gauntlets. It shouldn't be hard, though I'm not sure, since I've already got thick fingers, paws as some would say. (even though I'm not a furry) needless to say sir, you are an amazing violinist.
Maybe a shoulder strap that catches the shoulder rest could help anchor it against the suit? Do you have any issues with rosin getting in the fur? Maybe without knowing, I picked the fennec species for the short snout to stay out of the way of playing, and the big ears for fentonation! I'm just a beginner though, learning on my own. Maybe in several years I'll have a handle on the techniques you showed. :P
I think a strap would need to be connected to the violin to work. the shoulderrest could in worst case make the strap pulling the wrong direction (i believe) and I dont want to connect the strap to my instrument, due to the value of the instrument X3

P.S I pole dance in my dragon costume and learning how the difficulty reaches near impossible levels is both terrifying and inspiring cause I end up learning (wait am I the only one in my field trying this???)

i don't know if this'll help but there are paws with holes for fingers. those might help you if you'd like a full fursuit look! i think you should go on a talent show hehe

Maybe a shoulder strap that catches the shoulder rest could help anchor it against the suit?
Do you have any issues with rosin getting in the fur?
Maybe without knowing, I picked the fennec species for the short snout to stay out of the way of playing, and the big ears for fentonation! I'm just a beginner though, learning on my own. Maybe in several years I'll have a handle on the techniques you showed. :P
I think a strap would need to be connected to the violin to work. the shoulderrest could in worst case make the strap pulling the wrong direction (i believe) and I dont want to connect the strap to my instrument, due to the value of the instrument X3
