I love this guy! Marco, you provide us with very precise, passionate, and informed reviews and overviews and they're GREATLY appreciated! This video was exactly what I needed AND you made me smile. :) Keep 'em coming!
First thing I noticed, the colours work really well. Deep Purple and Tan blocks on a mottled green board with a black edge. There is something cineamatic or even computer game like about how it looks, an instant upgrade on the previous versions. And the dice :)
I am always amazed by the titles behind you and today spotted Chainsaw Warrior, probably the first GW board game I bought. Still got it, still love it. C&C is always good too. And yes, hair is on point today
Thanks for the helpful review Marco. Will pass on this one. Perching those ranged counters on top of blocks looks fiddly and I would greatly miss the damage-per-block system that Napoleonics introduced.
Nice collection behind you. I see SPI's "Commando" - any other SPI titles? Or GDW? And...that "Lords & Wizards"...one I had never heard of. Isn't that game OLDER than you are? :-)
Great game. I own it. I don’t like C&C games with fiddly plastic figures; blocks are better, just. I’d love to see big chunky cardboard counters with great artwork. Sticky unit labels? Hmmm...no thanks. 😃
Very clear and usefull review, as usual! I like very much C&C ancients, but with this new implementetion, it looks that there are no real innovation in the system. Is it because the warfare between ancient era and early Middle Age time is similar? So I will aspect some kind of evolution in the following volumes.
Pierluigi Pellizzer well, the C&C Napoleonics has something that I like very much - the number of dice you roll when battling depends on the number if blocks currently in a unit
my sister is in the US right now so ive got the chance to purchase one of these games for the first time. Importing is out of the question due to some strange import taxes in my country. I never played a wargame, and since it is a one of chance for me, what game that´s not in a huge box and doesnpt need to be expanded would you advice someone like me?
I am not so keen on this starting so close to ancient, this should have been an expansion, with the base game giving us e.g. 100 years war. As it is it is hard to justify this and ancients.
And it even has a portrait of marco on the box front ! :-p
hahhaha, nice 1
Don't swell his head any further.

Great review. And hair is looking especially great today!

You say tomato, I say Belisarius... LOL
Love C&C!
agree about the space game, sold it off immediately

I really think you should give Red Alert another shot. It's not botched at all. Looking forward to this one!
4:57 - Super-cataphract...super-heavy cavalry...super-heavy-cali-fragile-istic...
I see BattleLore 1e scowling at you in the background.
Hoping you got GMT The Last Hundred Yards and will be giving it a review in the next couple weeks. They system seems to have some unique ideas...
Please, explain how to play Crown of Roses. Thank you.

lol , yes marko posed for the box cover ?
I am disappointed that the Huns and Sassanid Persians are not separate color blocks.
I prefer short hair :)
Do u wear a helmet at home?

$75.00 retail, though... I just don't think I can afford to buy these games any more... :-(
fair enough, but you can easily get a copy for ~$50 from sites like cardhaus, miniaturemarket, and gamenerdz.
