We can really scratch our cars during the drying process. I learnt this very late only after I started to watch detailing videos. When the car is squeaky clean, there is going to be a lot of friction between the car paint and the drying towel during the drying process. The idea is to have a super smooth surface during drying. Less friction, less swirls.
Really looks amazing and the science seems to stack up but the car was pretty clean to start with but I am still tempted to try it out. I am still a Wax guy and change the wax frequently so no Si02 for my car but it has a place on my sons car which I see only twice a year and all summer so it needs full protection while looking good. My new i-Pace is Metallic Corris Grey so it is close to that colour so I hope I can recreate that pop on my car. Thanks guys.
Thank you. As for wax, you can use ceramic coating as a base, and wax on top. Ceramics biggest advantage over wax is chemical resistance ( insects, birds).
But why wasn't the red or black sponge used? Yvan has been on video many times explaining why you shouldn't use wash mitt or microfiber towels when doing a rinseless.

Would you ever use a detail brush to get into the tight areas while doing a rinseless wash like you would a typical wash? Would you ever use the leaf blower to dry the car after a rinseless wash or just a drying towel?
both are totally fine! use common sense to meet the moment, and vary technique depending on what you're confronting, but sure those methods are both great during a rinseless wash
In the video, Yvan says the dilution ratio should be 1 oz. per gallon of water, but the product website says 1 oz. per 2 gallons of water. Which is correct?
Hi Yvan. Is it 2 capfuls of Rinseless Wash per gallon of water or 1 capful? I assume this is an old video and dilution ratio has changed since then. Or the cap has become bigger :)
is it ok if more product is used. In some cases if you just fill the bucket up roughly to 3 gallons and then do a rough pour. If its slightly more product will that affect anything?
It might be a little bit streaky if you over dilute (that’s yvans answer) but since Nick is answering lol…I always over pour just for fun :) it’s a more powerful and slicker cleaner. Worst case scenario you might need to do a final wipe on windows if you see an extra streak but very minimal change in my experience. -Nick
Is it 1cap full to 1 gallon or 2cap fulls to 1 gallon? In one of the latter videos, I thought I heard 1:1, so I cross-referenced this video just to make sure.
@@diydetailofficialCan you use the rinseless wash as the contact wash soap? Let’s say I like to do the traditional method of foam then rinse then contact wash but substitute the shampoo with rinseless wash so I can save time with not having to rinse the car again & prevent water spots too since I have hard water.
I have just finished a ceramic coat on my car today. So if I understand right the washless rinse would be the perfect maintenance product to us, right? Engine bays too?
Do you have a garage? How often do you plan on washing the car? You should optimize for safe washing but also to make it fun and enjoyable and sometimes overthinking it can drive you crazy :) yes rinseless is a great option for maintenance washes once a week or so. Without knocking (or pushing) any brands, how would you say a good rinseless wash like this compares with a foaming waterless product such as Ammo Frothe, in terms of safety? Using a drying aid, especially with ceramic. Will that not ruin your drying towel, or put it in danger of the fibers becoming stiff and create scratches on the next vehicle?
Not at all, one thing we have discussed regularly about towel care is the following. When done applying a ceramic coating or drying aid, soak your towel in your Wash bucket for a little while, the surfactants in DIY Detail Incredible Suds, And DIY Detail Rinseless Wash will emulsify the uncured ceramic.
Those are both great products. Like the McKee’s 37 it leaves nothing on the surface, and keeps the wash media cleaner than ONR. The DIY rinseless is loaded with surfactants, making it slightly better when dealing with traffic film and oils.
They all do the same thing. Pick one you like or try them all. Every company is going to say theirs is the best or that one product they use to sell isn’t as good now because they sell a different one. They’ll say technology approved as a catch all reasoning too lol
