This plug in is a game changer when it comes to matching cameras! One thing I didn't mention is that after the Node with the plug-in, you can continue to grade as normal and start building your look!

Spend 10 min to manually match 2 shots filmed on a same angle with the same subject? What is the purpose of the plugin then? And still not even close, look at the vectroscope.

How is this any different than using a couple of CSTs and converting both cameras to, say, Arri Log-C prior to grading? Converting all my cameras to Log-C prior to grading has worked really well for me in the past. Can Cinematch really make a difference?

Color space transform simply transforms your footage to the output gamut and color space you’ve selected.
Cinematch matches the sensors before the transformation. There’s a lot less secondary grading needed with cinematch.

Sidney's answer below is absolutely right, the CSTs in Resolve are just generic transforms that convert your footage to the correct space for further grading, but CineMatch actually matches the footage. Check out www.cinematch.com/why-cinematch for an overview, or download the free trial and test out the difference for yourself

I'm wondering if this is any different from me using the inbuilt Resolve LUTs to convert my footage, they look quite different :-Y

@@sidneybakergreen ok so I will have to change my process, the footage from the red looks orange, skin tones are quite bad. And I currently would not want to pay to have someone correct it all, rather learn to do it myself to save some cash for hard times. Aaaand finally getting the DJI drone footage to match is proving to be hard as well.

This plug-in works specifically with camera's log profiles. In the case you're describing, I'd recommend ACES.
