Instead of having to download and install the entire SDK platform this really made it efficient to install adb fastboot to my windows pc. many thanks.

Got it to work but what a struggle!! The Program-Tools directory has to be in the C: root. The ADB files need to be one directory down. There are two sets of Environmental Variables - turns out the System variables are the ones that work here. Next time you do one of these How To files, assume we're idiots and SHOW EVERYTHING.

This doesn't appear to have downloaded or installed the fastboot drivers. Although I have a fastboot.exe in the adb folder it cannot see my device.

He forgot to add the step of running the applications in order to install them.. after extracting, double click "adb" before you try to verify otherwise it will just say unrecognised.

ADB is successfully installed but My phone is not detected by device manager when i boot my phone into fastboot mode. How to solve this?
When my phone is switched on and is being connected to PC using Usb cable , there is an option of Android Phone > Android Composite ADB Interface and Portable Devices > POCO M2 PRO shown under Device Manager.
But as soon as I boot my phone into fastboot mode, and even with still being connected to PC using USB cable, the Android Phone and Portable Devices option disappear. So even to manually install Fastboot driver is impossible as there is no Android Phone/Other Devices/Portable Devices option in fastboot mode. How to solve this?
Phone : POCO M2 PRO
Bootloader Unlocked, USB Debugging On.
PC : Windows 10.
