as someone who just recently picked up fighting games and decided to play ed, this is exactly what i needed. its so hard to find comprehensive stuff like this for a character that just doesnt go over all of a characters moves and then combos. playing neutral with ed has been the hardest part to figure out. keep the videos coming!
Great video for all levels! Either as a refresher for higher level players or for new players to think of and apply concepts higher level players do often/naturally!
This was incredibly helpful as a new player learning ed and slumming it in silver ranks with old man reaction speed. Never would have even thought to approach the game like this. Thank you very much!
Thanks for the help. Im stuck at plat and im always wondering how plats and pros are whiff punishing, hit confirming, reacting, and how certain attacks buttons connect into combos. I need to change my mentality into preemptive thinking, or looking for things while being prepared to react. Thank you for making me discover this!!
Yeah, I myself have pretty shitty reaction around 270-300 ms, after playing fighting games for a while you end up figuring crazy pickups are more about believing than sheer reflexes
Yeah, it'll work at every level. The most important part is predicting what your opponent is going to do and being ready to react based on that prediction. The worst that can happen a lot of the time is they simply won't do what you were expecting so you were waiting to react to the wrong thing. With practice you'll get more accurate with your predictions.
I’m no where near Nezs’ level (I’m just a random 1700 MR player), but the thought process is definitely applicable at every level, just with different things. I.e. instead of fixating/predicting a 2mk poke from a Platinum Ken to whiff punish or counter poke, you should maybe try to check and predict a random heavy dragon lash, or a random jump in instead, whatever they’ve been doing a lot of throughout the match. This can then translate to other things, I.e. he likes to use neutral skip tools a lot, which might mean that he is very impatient. This might mean that maybe it’ll translate to his defence as well, so try shimmying him more to bait out a wake up reversal for example. Just try to make educated guesses basically. That being said though, Ken’s at all ranks seem to just be mashing dragon lash anyways, atleast from my experience lmao.
@@R_C32 This is exactly right. I wish I had talked about stuff like this, haha. It's not just about predicting normals to whiff punish them. Also specials and drive rush and jumping etc...

I'm not finish with the video yet but the whiff punish section was the best way I ever heard someone explain it
I'm glad it helps, they can be quite hard concepts to explain.

this video has brought back the joy i had for this game when it first released, thank you. time to hit the lab and improve.
Thank you, this video is gold
Hey Nezs, love your content btw. Do you think you can explain an ED specific guide in terms of how he should play neutral, and what he looks for.
I do plan to do something like this in the future. Just have to work out how to go about it.

Ed is shining rn, 2 Ed players on top 6 😤😤.

Wake up babe, new Nezs Ed guide just dropped
Great video man. Very helpful
Another Nezs certified classic 🗣️
The Punk Special (as Cammy): CH 5LP -> 2MP -> 236HK 😍
That's it. Haha.
my Neutral game is weak thanks for the guide for or boy ED
dude Ed's normals are busted, I cannot find a way into that guy without eating his footsie game and getting destroyed.
A review of momochi and ew at evo would be cool.
That's a good idea. I'm a bit busy recently with real life stuff, but if I get time i'll do this for sure.

Will this work at the intermediate level? I am stuck at platinum 3
