    Vintage Console EQ helps me a lot in the final mastering. It somehow allows me to "glue" the mix and let me hear every instrument and track well.

      Nice! I’ve never tried it as a mastering EQ but I will have to give that a go!

    OK so using stock logic plugins for 10+ years and only now actually going back and learning why i like the sound of the ones I do. This was so informative (and vindicating) - thank you!!!!

    Incredibly helpful. The historic explanations are illuminating. I've been watching various "this is how the masters mix" videos where the presenter puts hundreds of dollars worth of plugins on the master bus (for example). Now I realize I at least have a starting point to emulate those techniques. Make sure to check out the "compressor" version of this series.

      Thanks so much! I’m so glad you found the video helpful. And you’re so right. You do not need thousands of dollars worth of plugins to get great mixes! Start with what you have available in Logic and hone your skills with those. It will pay way more dividends in the long run than buying plugins will.

    Excellent breakdown. I’ve been in recording since the early 70’s but I never knew many of the technical details you provided that defined the character of each EQ. I especially liked how you showed on a scope how the controls on Pultecs interact and the harmonics generated by the drive control. Well done!

    Logic Pro is the only DAW in the market that gives us the best compressor and vintage eq emulations. Also we don't have to pay for the upgrades every year. I tried Cubase 13 Pro last week. It's very confusing. We don't need that to make music. I think some people is just blaming their current DAW and convincing themselves because they think that DAW will make the music itself. I returned the Cubase Pro 13 and bought a lot of libraries for the Kontakt. It's better!

    • @sangstersounds
      @sangstersounds  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As much as I love Logic, it’s definitely not about the DAW! It’s the music and the creativity that is most important.
