Génial ! Merci beaucoup pour cette explication. Je vais voir pour tester la mise à jour d'infos et chroniques via cette fonction. Nice ! Thanks a lot from France ;-)
Thanks for this, I was always wondering how this worked but didn't dive into it. It will make my news workflow so much easier.
Glad you were able to find it useful. :)
Well done! Very important lesson!!
Vital warning at 18:09 - do not Sync with a whole master library/folder (he explains why)
I have a folder with 1300 sequentially numbered files. A program to play 3 time a day. is the a short way of making an event to play the next file in the next broadcast?
Hmmm, folder sync deals only with comparing a hard drive folder with a category in RadioDJ. What you are wanting to do is play files in sequence which could be handled with a "playlist". Off the top of my mind while driving, there may be a way to do a series of events to do what I think you're asking.
Idea: As part of overall wrangling workflow, would it be helpful (and less risky) to only use it with separate “Syncable Music” folders and a corresponding “Synced Music” Category (in RDJ)? Like only temporarily, for stuff (of any genre etc.) that hasn’t been filed away / tagged in the main library yet? Such as just-received demo tracks. Just wondering.
Yeah that's possible and I have thought of that. But also remember that if the file is removed from the physical location, then the sync will remove it from RadioDJ database.
For me, if I were to use this, it would be to monitor a folder for maybe radio drops that I plan to change on a daily or weekly basis.
I mix music of different genres into the same categories and this would not work for me.
This would be great for a prerecorded show that changes often or like I said drops that change frequently.
But, if I did use it for music then the hard drive folder would have to be for music of the same Genre and therefore going into the same RDJ subcategory.
