I just finished the main story tonight! As a free player it took me about 35-40 hours and i was attempting to steamroll through (ie. only necessary sidequests, focusing on main story) It's certainly VERY doable as a free player. I would only upgrade 4-5 star clothing and only as necessary so i wasn't wasting upgrade materials on clothing pieces that i wouldn't use and i think that was the best thing i could have done. Now i'm free to level up my clothing at my own pace.
I was so concerned about needing to pay at some point so thank you so much for making this video!! It's great to know that you can complete the game without paying anything 💛💛
@@thepillowfortgamingI think most games can be beaten without spending money. It just takes time and planning. I didn't spend a penny on Honkai Star Rail and i'm doing just fine :)

That's good to know. I just started playing a couple days ago and was wondering if it would eventually get to a point where I'd have to pay money, but it seems like if I just take my time and gather as much materials as I can, I'll probably be fine. I'm enjoying the game so far. It's not the typical style of game I'd play, but I do like games where I can customize my character in detail and I really like having a photo mode, so that's mainly what drew me in. This game is really fun and I love just exploring. It looks great and has a good soundtrack, and overall is a nice experience. It's honestly a bit addicting. The first day, I played for like 5 hours and yesterday, I played 3 or 4. I also love how cute the game is, from the animals to the characters to the general feel of everything. The only issue I have is that the story so far is just ok to me. The characters are fun, but it hasn't wowed me with the story yet. I'm hoping it gets better as I get into it.
''Probably'' Kind of, they make sure they give you enough to get you 70 perc there, you will have to save up in order to be on top of every patch. They took Genshins preda meta and cut it in a third haha.
The story definitely layers itself well with some nice twists at the end. Honestly, enjoying the game slow and steady - or just running around the entire world exploring for days - is the right way to play. We found that when we were just going with the flow occasionally doing side quests or just farming materials, it gave us that nice break from the story and the extra stuff is just fun to complete with tons of incentives for doing it 💕
We only have one sovereign left to hit a perfect score with and we've just been casually using daily energy to convert to bubbles and glow up outfits + advance eureka. No more than 20 minutes a day and playing casually 🥰 it can be done without paying anything if you're not rushing - which, no sense in rushing just to finish it with how much there is to do afterwards and collect
Gosh watching your video makes me wish I had a better system to play this on (as opposed to my iPhone 14). The game doesn't look too terrible on iPhone, but your playthrough looks absolutely amazing
@@chriskagamine358 i have a good pc and even with that the game struggles sometimes,i play other similar games with no trouble, infinity nikki is sadly really demanding in that regard ;(
We played on PC and it's definitely a huge upgrade from mobile for sure 😅 we have it on our Pixel 9 and as you said, it's good, but can't beat the PC experience
Even our big PC rig has a struggle every now and again - sometimes it's smooth as butter, other times it'll stutter here and there 😅 overall though we had a pretty stable experience but we have a pretty advanced rig
That's more of a cosmetic thing, but still cute! The Mira Journey pack is pretty worth it if you don't want to be waiting a few days for materials to progress, but it still doesn't take too long even if you don't buy anything 🥰

For players who prefer not to spend money, you can still earn Revelation Crystals for free by trading in duplicate dresses for Tranquility Droplets, which can then be exchanged for RC. The gacha system in this game feels more generous compared to others. I managed to complete Croaker Whisper in about 40 pulls and Dreamy Glimmer in 50-60 pulls. Plus, you’re guaranteed at least one 4-star item for every 10 pulls, and sometimes you might even get lucky and score up to four 4-stars in a single set! I’ve still got 16,040 crystals saved up for the next Resonance. With careful planning and spending, it’s absolutely possible to enjoy the game without spending any money.
I’m to the part of the game where you have to craft the final outfit and I’m really regretting neglecting things like Eureka. I’ll have a long grind ahead of me.
@@PuckishAngel haha, apologize for the confusion! Tbh, you can beat the game without buying any outfits from the bling stores - none of our outfits contained anything but the dresses you earn as rewards in game or through the crystal rolls
I saw some people arguing about how to beat “pinnacle 8”? I don’t know what that is yet, but they were making it seem that you can only beat it with the resonance pulls paid outfits. Can we still beat that too in f2p?
Well my first question is how do you beat a game that is open ended and will be updated endlessly? :D But I get what you’re saying. My rule, which I definitely have broken is that if the game gives me as many hours of enjoyment as a paid game then I should at least spend as much as normal game costs e.g. $60. If you can’t afford it, then enjoy this amazing imo AAA quality game for free. Some steps may be a tad bit harder or you may miss out on some beautiful limited banner items, but otherwise you can finish all content - at least what they have so far as F2P player.
Yeah in terms of beating it we just meant with what's available now 🥰 we actually wholeheartedly agree with you - games can't be made for free and so if everyone played them free it would mean the end of the gaming industry - but a LOT of people can't afford triple A games so to get something like IN for free is mind blowing. It's why we added what's worth buying and that there's no shame in spending money on the game since it supports the continued development. People who can afford (and enjoy it enough) to pay, should definitely always support their favorite games
The battlepass is exceptionally easy to do without paying. Most of the stuff is as simple as "login once a day" or "spend x amount of your daily energy" We found it no trouble at all to hit the max level playing casually
Think I spent around $60 dollars. Don't know if I feel good about it. The collection completions persona really isn't the best for these type of games, always anxious of missing out
It's also partly why we made this video - to show that people didn't have to stress thinking they were going to need *everything* from the shop in order to succeed - but ultimately even if you spend less moving forward, it's an awesome game to support ❤️ they have HUGE amounts of content planned and you'll have the perk of some great outfits that should last for a while 🥰
ppl allready speed ran 100% f2p way under a day so it's possible. I played free and got to point where i just needed a few trophies but got lazy bc its all collecting trophies so pass. If ppl want the different dresses which don't do much but scores that's on them.
If you watched the whole video you'd hear us say it's absolutely worth buying something from the shop to support the game and it's continued development and even provided suggestions on what's worth buying - other than personal cosmetic desires 💕
You don't have to pay, there are plenty of people already spending money. This is how it's been in every Nikki game and it's 100 percent possible to get suits that you want as f2p, you just have to be strategic. Papergames also gives out plenty of welfare suits so there's no need to stress out over spending money
@ honestly, as a kid i’d disagree with ur comment but as a adult now i’d give my money for the devs for developing a game that’s this good and free. however i hate that most of the paying goes to gambling instead

Yes! That's the Mira Crown event mentioned in the video. It's not beatable without glowing up your outfits and Eureka but we were able to beat the end tiers once we did. Entirely free! You should naturally get 3-4 full outfits from resonance pulls with the resources you earn in game (diamonds, pulls from level ups and completing quests, etc). The resonance shop, while you can pay for pulls, can also be earned for free ❤️

It's why we ended up making it in the long run! So many free to play games get you to 80% and then hit a hard stop but this one doesn't! 🥰

I feel like if you really free to play, it will take longer than their expectation to pay for battlepass.
