My 2x great grandfather Henri C F Steffen had a construction business after the Civil War and worked on the UPRR roadbed from Omaha to Cheyenne. I had a “rat” 1969 Super Bee. I love cars & trains, from prototypes to models. I hope to bump into you both, somewhere out on the path of the Big Boy, which had resided, for decades just a few miles away. I was born in the 60's so I knew what you were talking about models being a big thing, but I was young and never into them. And I have to confess I only knew the name Rat Fink because there was a Rat Fink Hot Wheels car. I played with Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars a lot. I still have a couple from my childhood
So here’s some really interesting trivia. Ed said that the person who actually came up with the name rat Fink was Steve Allen. Know who he was? Late night tv. From 1956 to 1960. Sort of a bridge between Jack Par and Johnny Carson.

You guys are one of the reasons I'd rather watch TH-cam than T.V. I'd put your product quality up against The Discovery or History channels any day of the week. Your chemistry together shines through on each video you produce. The craftsmanship that both of you display in a complementary way through the hobby of modeling displays your individual talents; both of you are a force to be reckoned with. Everything seasoned with your sense of humor, not to mention often finishing each other's thoughts. Your 700th Show you do deserve a monumental Congratulations. I started looking for videos on the movement of UP 4014 from Pomona California to Cheyanne Wyoming. Then I saw the logo of a Red Rocket with Toy Man on it and I thought to myself should I take this seriously? Well I then watched and I soon realized the Toy Man Logo was an excellent example of the very highest form of the art of screwing around. I also made some friends along the way. Keep up the great work on the most Very High Art of Screwing Around.

You’re absolutely right it’s been eight years! Or should I say will be next Christmas. But I started shooting the show 10 years ago. Race car stuff thinking that we needed to have a race car channel. So my friends and I were doing that but we never were able to get that show up. So after I got laid off I used all of that race car footage to make some TH-cam shows. Along with a bunch of other footage. Once I had 30 shows that I liked I decided that I was ready to start a TH-cam channel.

So I started repurchasing for TH-cam and then I was retired and moved to take care of my mother in Salt Lake City. Anyway it all became Toy Man Television.

Congratulations on your 700th episode and 10yrs. Great story on building the garage in to what it is today. I know how space fills up over time and collecting things. Karyn always amazes me on her modeling talents. Nice story on how you both meet and a very lucky day for you both. What episode was the pile driver in? Hello Ronald! Pile driver was in the narrow gauge reunion on the Cumbres and toltec. I think it was 2019, the spring of 2019? Anyway we’re putting up another pile driver a video on Sunday! 10 years??? I thought it was 8. But then, I have been watching for two years,...and many have had trouble keeping track of what year it is recently,... so it makes sense that it's now 10,.... kinda. ANYWAY..... Very well done. A great recap on the channel so far. Really nice to learn how you two got together, over a chair. Ha!

You’re absolutely right it’s been eight years! Or should I say will be next Christmas. But I started shooting the show 10 years ago. Race car stuff thinking that we needed to have a race car channel. So my friends and I were doing that but we never were able to get that show up. So after I got laid off I used all of that race car footage to make some TH-cam shows. Along with a bunch of other footage. Once I had 30 shows that I liked I decided that I was ready to start a TH-cam channel.

@@ThatBIGTRAINGuy hi. Yes if you watch the four shows called “road trip” that is the 1 hour show my friends and I made to try to get a deal with the speed channel. Didn’t happen. So I started repurchasing for TH-cam and then I was retired and moved to take care of my mother in Salt Lake City. Anyway it all became Toy Man Television.
