Ralph Tresvant is my favorite member. He sang lead, best dancer, great solo album. He was almost like the other m jackson. His lead voice to me is the voice of New Edition.
BBD and Bobby is an perfect example of what they had to offer to the group. They couldn't display that due to management and producers controlling the music.
But it also why groups did well then, everybody can't and shouldn't be playing the lead singer. The only thing that went wrong with the group is their constant infighting.
I always Loved Ralph. I had a big crush on him when I was a teen in 1983, especially when he became a Young Man. I’ve been following for years, and listens to his radio show. What I really Love about Ralph is he always tried to do what was best for NE, and seem so selfless. I’m glad he’s trying to do his own thing, and speak up for himself about the issues in the group. I’m looking so forward to his new cd and it’s been past his time to shine on his own.

Great interview and Great Show Mr DL!! Just wanna say that I've been a Fan (New Edition) as a lot of us during that time (or since 1st video: CandyGirl.) Also, seein' this episode with Ralph was real cool, and was pretty much what I would've expected from him. He's had a lot of experience in the biz, from that era & was mature as a teen. I've Always had respect for, admired & was inspired by them too(as were most of us-our generation/of kids('83-'90) Even when they did their own music/expand/creative-gigs, their Fans still enjoyed it all. When they did their reunion Tour/CD, etc. I believe that too was successful.
I saw all of them in concert at Madison Square garden years ago. They blew it up!! I wished they can come together again, I would 💜 to see them bring that magic back
New Edition was and still is the joint. All of the members of the group were and still are da bomb! If they step on stage and just stand there, the audience will give a standing O because they have touched so many and their history is solid.

VERY good commentary on Mr. Tresvant’s whole career. It’s very rare. My opinion on that is he did it too late. Had he had a chance to break out first it might’ve been different. We’ll never know.

I've Always had respect for, admired & was inspired by them too(as were most of us-our generation/of kids('83-'90)
Even when they did their own music/expand/creative-gigs, their Fans still enjoyed it all. When they did their reunion Tour/CD, etc. I believe that too was successful.
