Thanks for featuring me, using the only vehicle truly suited for water.
For those interested, its a Nortik Fold 3.8 kayak, that folds like an origami into a large bag. I had only just got that kayak and had taken it out on its first test run earlier that day, so I wasn't exactly familiar with its handling, hence why I wasn't able to control it well. Also, the water flowing across the road didn't help keeping it in a straight line.
Also, if this inspires any of you to do something foolish, like kayaking on a busy flooded road, wear a life jacket and protective gear.

To be fair to the BMW owner, he drove slowly and the water wasn't that deep. Any properly designed car should have made it. Where the feck do BMW put their air intakes? Its farcical that it sucked in water. And to add insult to injury their cretinous computerised gearbox gets stuck in gear if the electrics fail.

I'm not even CLOSE to a car expert but it could have something with the engine not being able to move so the wheels can't spin since it's probably a rear-wheel drive car??

Most modern BMW’s are automatic and will automatically engage Park when the engine is switched off. To get Neutral and let the car roll, the engine must be running but that can’t happen of course when the engine is full of water. The rule of thumb is that if the water is deeper than the centre of your wheel,rim, then don’t do it or you will end up sucking in water and destroying the engine. Also, most people go far too fast through water that is passable so they are their own enemy when it comes to being sensible.
