this episode is so cursed. using AE2 with RS network to autocraft gregtech on 1.20 I hate every word of that sentence, and its awesome!! can't wait for more gregtech!
I wanna say that I recommend EDIT: NOT automating gt tools. Instead speedrun the steam age and get all the machines for these tasks in LV. (eg wiremill instead lf wire cutter)
If he was starting the mod pack with GT, them you would be 100% right (not only are the tool recipes inefficient by themselves, you would also be using materials for the tools), but he has what is functionally infinite resouces, like, 4.6m Iron Ingots... not only that, but in ATM9 Aluminium is SUPER EASY to get. He should be fine doing that until the HV, where he has to make Stainless Steel, and he has "decent" machines.
@@cubixthree3495 ChosenArchitect has AE2 for GregTech before starting the Steam age, and in GT:NH it would take 500 hours of multiple era progression only to craft the first AE2 controller. GregTech in ATM9 is for babies ))
Use acceleration cards in your assemblers please so it 1ticks the recipes Also you can hide the amount number on drawers with the locking tool on a different mode on the storage bus. Would recommend for performance reasons and it might look cleaner
Interesting to see chosen have the exact same idea i did on my ATM9 world. I have a big basement full of drawers that hold a lot of my basic materials from refined storage then my AE2 for gregtech interfaces off of it to pull as needed.
I remember being able to make the tools eternal when i play ATM9 a few months ago. I guess greg really does hate any mod that tries to make his mod easier lol.
Something to note in AE2 is that the storage bus can read from the interface so you can have other AE2 controllers spread out of the base and still able to see the items from the main network. Also the cell workbench is nice to filter what can go into the drives, I really like that feature for fluid cells. In Extended AE there is also an infinite water cell and if you look into the recipe for it there is also an infinite cobble cell.
I found your video when I was trying to link my AE2 to RS systems. Instead of using an exporter to pump items into the functional storage controller, I used a external storage and an me storage bus to the FS controller and set the proprieties such that items will attempt to feed in to FS storage first. I then tried to setup a shared buffer storage by using a storage scanner; but that only allowed insertion and doesn't advertise what's in the storage, making it one way. I then tried Sophisticated Storage controller multi block. That worked really well but caused so much lag that manifested in my Warp Stone not bringing up the menu and eating food going through the animations period but no eating. Ultimately, when I used a disk manipulator to dump my RS cells into the new network, the game crashed and was irreparably damage. I had to load a backup. In the end I created a very large storage room for with FS fully netherite drawers, I will put void upgrades on later, upgrades to store the base materials. I leverage the compacting drawers to provide the nuggets, ingots and blocks for metals, gems, etc... then each storage system maintains its own buffer storage. I wish there was some component that would allow for an external storage to connect to an ME storage bus to allow for cross linking, but I guess that caused an issue and was removed from RS. Anyway, thank you for the initial concept and I hope my slight iteration gives someone ideas when doing their storage.
I used the p2p and send the p2p wireless to the other side so i could send more channels on one cable. Like the p2p use only 2 channels to receive and send 32 channels. Dont make a mess out of it 😜
does Refined Storage have some kind of interface equivalent to the AE2 Interface? AE2 has interfaces and storage bus. A Storage Bus connected to an Interface will not connect those 2 systems, but show all of the available items in the system of the Interface side.
@@horizon5942its not that gravitas 2 is a terra firma greg tech modpack so to get a wooden plank it takes about 30 mins from creating the world and to get to the copper age and have copper tools it took me about 12+ hrs haha
You can facade refined as well.....a block you want to use plus an iron nugget. Put the result back into crafting table if you want a cover with a hole in it.

8:30 sorry chosen I couldn’t hear anything you said for about 30 seconds after you flashed that poor terrified axolotl on the screen for a split second
while it is fun to experiment with odd and inventive setups, still take in consideration that GT machines are for the most part direct replacements for tools. The reason why they have durability and are annoying is mostly intended to encourage replacing them as soon as possible with actual machinery. GT used as endgame doesn't make a lot of sense, and in a modpack like this it would work better if you had a way to automate things from the beginning without weird tricks through AE2. Essentially, you're automating an annoying part of GT that you could bypass very quickly by aiming at LV machines.
For the knife i do believe after messing around the farmers delight knife doesn't actually have durability and can be used for gregtech recipes infinitely
Hello ChosenWizard and welcome to linear algebra 101. Wait, it's defence against the dark arts? Oh? Ooooh it's AE2. Yeah sorry this university isn't advanced enough to teach that

Personally I do have some recipes with tools automated as it's faster than the machines at lower tiers. Now once he gets like EV/IV that may change.

no, the storage buses read inventories and as they themselves are not inventories it doesnt work
